If you are a runner they have a huge running shoe section in the back of the store and had quite a few good deals on clearance shoes. The gold area where you could test out clubs was built in entertainment for my toddler. It was neat watching people hit balls and figure out the right club to purchase. I was also impressed by the women's clothing selection. They had quite the selection the price point varied and for most pieces I'd probably hold off for a sale. Parking is super easy and on a Saturday the store wasn't that busy.

I came and tried the analysis out of curiosity, and wanted to see for myself what the process was-- I was not very hopeful because I was worried that maybe that it was a gimmick used to sell shoes, and was convinced that with my niche needs (long history of injuries to multiple joints, instability of said joints, and the chronic pain associated with old injuries) that there would simply not be a shoe to be found for me. I was wrong. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised by just how in-depth the analysis and consultation was. I was even more amazed by the care, patience, and consideration taken into the recommended selection of shoes to try, with explanations WHY the recommendations were made. Even more happy that there were shoes my size to even try on (10-11s women'), and there were insoles selected to further customize things to my specific needs. I'll be honest, I wasn't even looking to buy shoes for myself today, but to just be a support to my friend. But the wonderful experience with Jeff talked the talk, and the shoes he selected walked the WALK. I never once felt rushed despite the busy store, I was able to really feel out and talk about what I liked and didn't like, which was received by Jeff with understanding and discernment. I asked the greeter (drowsy guy in beige and white) if he could call a manager to get some more cashiers. About 5 mins later Roger waddles up and is all confrontational, "Did you need something?" I said, "Yes, wanted to let y'all know we're over a dozen deep in line here." "We're working on it," barks Roger with a condescending tone. Then does an about face. To their credit and being fair, they did get another two cashiers a while later. But why the attitude, why the aggressiveness? I was just trying to spend my money in this establishment and I get bad-vibed? I love Bass Pro, but today's experience really drives home the fact that a good shopping experience is about a lot more than price and selection. Crappy employees can take what could have been a positive and turn it memorably negative.
