We enrolled my daughter into Miss Bri's program for 4-6-year-olds seven months ago and we love it! My daughter has always been excited about music. My 3-year-old son has been attending Sound Beginnings with Ms. Bri for over a year now. It is our favorite activity of the week! My infant daughter will also be joining later this year. Ms. Bri is very patient and intentional with the kids and meets them where they are in terms of attention span, independence, and comfort. Sound Beginnings was my son's first experience in a group "instructional" setting with other children, and Ms. Bri encouraged him to participate independently when he seemed comfortable and otherwise encouraged him to participate with me, which helped him to stay happily engaged. I appreciate that she never pressured him to participate. It is overall just the most wholesome toddler activity and introduction to music. Throughout the week, my son requests to listen to the Sound Beginnings songs, which are available on the app. Even my husband, who doesn't get the chance to take our son to the class often, hums the songs because we listen to them so often at home. My son Davin (2) and I did the Sand & Sea Sound Beginnings class this summer with Ms. Bri (Brianna Shaffer) and we're so glad we did! I'm actually a musician and music teacher myself, and I've taken my older daughter (now 6) to other toddler music classes and this one is by far the best. Ms. Bri is great at being engaging and friendly, while also teaching music fundamentals and making it fun at the same time - not easy to do! :) There is also a cool easy app that has all the music and I play it for the kids all the time (at breakfast, in the car, etc.) I highly recommend the Sound Beginnings class for any toddler or kid up to age 4. Ms. Bri has been teaching my 7yo son for about 5months now. He has some needs and is hyperactive. He has been asking for piano lessons. We were with another teacher prior but she wasn't able to accomodate some of his needs and he would shut down. We took a break. But after lots of prompting by him, I decided to enroll him with Ms. Bri. She does adaptive lessons for him and he LOVES going to class every week. He even performed at the winter recital. We love Let's Play Music at Play Your Part studio. Ms. Bri is fantastic! We've had 2 of our kids participate in the Let's Play Music program. One has completed the course and the second is nearly done. I can't recommend this program enough! My older daughter has gone onto private piano lessons and her teacher is amazed at how much my daughter understands some of the tougher concepts. Miss Brianna is the best. We started out with her as our music therapist helping treat my son's moderate autism when he was about 2. She handled his special needs with confidence and humor and had him instantly connected and eager to speak in order to PLAY MORE MUSIC. We started taking group music classes with a friend and her two girls, focusing on taking turns, speech, and other social skills, and then transitioned into the Let's Play Music class with my two oldest children in the same class (they are 1.5 years apart). They LOVE it. And I have to say, as a parent who took 20 years of music lessons, this class really teaches the fundamentals of music quickly, easily, and without the kids even knowing it. Suddenly BAM they just have the knowledge and ability! My oldest daughter started out needing two buckets and a wheelbarrow to carry a tune, now she sings mostly on-key and is improving every day. Both kids love playing the piano and are very excited to start composing their OWN piece of music - which just blows my mind. Cannot recommend Play Your Part and the Let's Play Music program enough! My baby will be starting in the 2-4 year old class as soon as Miss Bri gets it going! read more
