Somorrostro beach is currently one of the most emblematic beaches in the city, and the beach became one of the most popular in the city. I felt comfortable in this place. When I came to this beach, the season was in Winter, but I felt a gentle warmth. Maybe it may be different from Japanese beach in winter. Though it was warmer, nobody was swimming in the Mediterranean. During the 19th century and part of the 20th century, the beach, and much of the neighboring beach areas was occupied by a shanty town, inhabited by 15,000 people living in 2,000 slums. Carmen Amaya, the most famous flamenco dancer of all time, was born here. Nowadays, it is located under the Somorrostro arcade in front of the Hospital Del Mar, the Beach Centre is an environmental education facility dedicated to promoting the city seafront. A secluded gay nude beach, Playa del Muerto, is a good hike. Restaurants serve spectacular fresh seafood, and paella is king. Sitges is relaxing and definitely worth the 35 minute train ride (less than €6 one way) from Barcelona.

The top of Tibidabo is crowned by the Cathedral del Sagrat Cor. This church was constructed between 1902 and 1960 in a mixture of modernista and neogothic styles. It's also home to the Tibidabo Amusement Park built in 1889. You might recognize views of Tibidabo in international films like Vicky Christina Barcelona.

The fountain is amazing just gorgeous huge fountain lots of birds there. Great place for pictures right beside the fountain or up the stairs to the fountain. Lots of musicians and street performers around the park. I really am a bird fanatic so I was thrilled to see so many wild parakeets in the park. There are people feeding the parakeets bird seeds and you put some in your hand and they'll land in your hand and eat there. I loved it. There are some homeless people and one of them kind of threw a insane fit while we were there but no one was hurt he kicked over a barrier and was yelling at people. But that can happen anywhere just use caution anywhere you go. There is neat statues and there's also a little lake or pond where they had people renting rowboats we didn't do that but that looked like fun.

Today it contains museums, the Olympic Ring from the 1992 Olympic Games, a castle, gardens, a fountain, cable car, and more. A tour guide drove my husband and me to this park. We enjoyed the panoramic views of the city buildings and the sea. Our tour guide explained that a Jewish cemetery was built into the hill. Overall, I would not call Parc de Montjuic a must-see, but it was nice to see.
