I'm a huge Playa Bowls fan! I went with my family last night and had the most delicious Nutelloco bowl (Coconut base with Nutella and lots of toppings). My family enjoyed their bowls as well. My brother's a huge banana fan and loved the banana base. The service was great last night. We ate at the large wooden table in the back which was able to fit the four of us. It was incredibly sticky and gross. We tried putting down napkins and they just stuck to the table. I would recommend getting your bowls to-go because every countertop truly felt sticky. read more

The staff double charged me. They said payment didn't go through so I paid again. Both went through. When realized this and called to report it, the phone was offline. Staff was unfriendly during my visit and the lack of an in-service phone further proves they aren't customer focused here. PlayaBowl is usually fine but stay away from this location. The staff responded to my comment asking me to email them for a resolution. When I did that the email was undeliverable because the account was over it quota. So their phone and email aren't working. read more

I made a Yelp account just to post this if that says anything about how my experience was. I am absolutely disgusted with the way I heard the workers talking. Not only were they bragging about being high and drunk as underage children, but they were also incredibly rude in demeanor. I waited in line, heard part of their conversation and just knew I didn't not want to be helped by people who talk the way they do. It's entirely disgusting and I hope someone of higher management sees this and understands that hiring people who act the way I saw these children acting is despicable. I went in at around 7:40ish and have no idea if any one was actually in charge because of how childish and disgusting their behavior was. Embarrassingly bad service. I waited nearly 6 minutes for a basic açaí bowl while three workers- man named Christian, a girl with blue hair, and another girl standing around uselessly, stood fighting about who was going home first. Not one of them cared that tickets were piling up. My order and several others just sat there ignored while they ran their mouths. When Christian finally bothered to ask if I was waiting, my açaí bowl was already finished , just sitting there melting -- because they were too busy arguing to even pack it. No apology, no acknowledgment, just complete laziness and disrespect for customers. If showing up to work is too hard for you, stay home. You're an adult -- start acting like one. Playa Bowls is my favorite açaí place I have been to! Whenever I am in Fairfield, I always stop here. My favorite bowl is the Nutella bowl which is a great combination of sweet ingredients. I like to use the Playa app to order ahead but if I am meeting friends, I'll typically order once I get to Playa. The wait can vary from 5 mins to 10 mins to get your bowl once you order. The Nutella bowl is about ~$11. It's totally worth it. The atmosphere is great and they have good outdoor seating. It is also in an ideal location off Post Road. If you love açaí bowls of every single possibility, Playa Bowls is the place to be! Nutella and tropical were our choices and they are decent size and so delicious. Honestly, I doubt you could go wrong with any of their options! It's a lovely little place and the vibe is definitely set upon entering! You will love to sit back and hang there for sure. The reason they lose a star is because it is a little costly. 3 bowls (one for each kid) and it was $42.00 plus a tip. I'm reviewing Playa Bowl after my second experience. The atmosphere inside is airy and spacious for you to sit and enjoy your bowl or smoothie. Also there is an outdoor place. I had both my bowls to go. The first bowl I had was a coconut base(Nutelloco). The base was too sweet for my liking, especially because it's topped with lots of sweet ingredients. My second time I had the Olas bowl. This is my favorite. Not too sweet, the banana base is divine. I love all the ingredients. The serving is huge, add almond butter to it and I couldn't finish the entire bowl in one sitting. It was still delicious after it all melted. I would definitely go back. I would like to retract my one star review of the Fairfield Playa Bowl service and change to five stars, based on the service I received today. I was reluctant to step back in there after my last emotionally-charged, highly disappointing experience with the service staff the last time I was there. But apparently my actions and words were taken seriously and into account, because the way I was treated today was entirely different from the last time. I was greeted with a smile, and was reassured that my entire order would be free of charge. What a refreshing turnaround that was much appreciated. It takes a lot of courage to go from the bottom of the barrel to the top, and that ability to go from rude and unconscious to fully conscious and kind deserves a full five stars. Bowls are great, annoyed staff. I'm fine waiting 15-25 minutes if it's busy, but the store was EMPTY, nobody was doing anything, no urgency, they didn't care we were there . Took 20 minutes. I asked for Nutella on my bowl, disgruntled cashier said ok, when I noticed she didn't add it after putting it in the bag, I asked for her to please add it, she gave me a frustrated look. I have been to playabowls in west Hartford and all over NJ. love the product you put out, but today at 9:20 my friend and I went and noticed the door was locked. the sign said open at 9:00 am the two women inside saw us and did not acknowledge us. we knocked and they still looked down. I stumbled across this place on a late Sunday afternoon. It caught my eye and I decided to walk in to check it out. Their menu is huge! I loved the variety and how it was 90% vegan! I decided to order the Olas bowl from the banana bowl section. $10 is a pretty standard price for a smoothie bowl these days. My bowl was made quickly and was absolutely beautiful! Their presentation was excellent. I loved it from the first bite. Super creamy and delicious. All of the toppings went perfectly together too. Probably one of the best bowls I've ever had. Hoping this is helpful for management/owner. The drinks and bowls are fresh and great. Covid precautions need help. Been there twice in the last two weeks and masks are down at times .. don't see hand washing, kids of owner running around with phone in hand then touching counters where food prep is. One employee wipes her sweat off with a paper towel and gloves hands then touched her hair to smooth it back with same gloves anddd then to the food. Hair should be back and up as well. This a serious guys. You owe it to the public to be clean. No cross contamination!!! Otherwise the bowls and drinks are really yummy. I normally love this place but today was a huge disappointment. First of all none of the employees are wearing hair nets. Super cute atmosphere, extensive menu, and tasty food! I got the Nica bowl and it was extremely fresh. I had no problem with the service, but I did go pretty early and no one else was really there. We were given our bowls in less than 5 minutes! I know some have said the bowls were pretty small, and I admittedly like to eat with my eyes more than my stomach sometimes. Although it seemed small at first, there's more in it than you think. A little pricey, but that's expected with fresh food, and they have a loyalty card where after 12 bowls you get one free!!
