So I went here today and got a Nutella bowl. I saw that there was barely any açaí in the bowl. It was mostly just granola and a little bit of fruit. I counted 5 strawberries. keep in mind that the strawberries are cut in half so I really only got 2 and a half strawberry's on my bowl. So I asked them to fill up my bowl a little more. They said that they do the same amount of açaí for everyone now. So everyone gets 1 scoop!! How ridiculous! That's just awful! I would never go here again! The bowl was half empty! read more

Conveniently located within a shopping center, there is a large lot so there is absolutely no hassle of finding parking & getting your fix. The bowls are a little pricey, but are filled with fresh ingredients! If you can't decide you can get half & half base. I got the 8th Ave: a bowl with granola, banana, and honey. I also opted for 2 bases- half Acai (ah-sah-ee) and half coconut. It was sweet, but not overpowering! My boyfriend got the Nutella bowl & it looked good, but he didn't want to share so I don't know what to say about that one. He finished it pretty quickly so I guess that speaks for itself. I was looking forward to trying some things here, as a friend highly recommended them. There are a lot if menu items to choose from and they all sound very good. The girl helping me was very friendly and explained a few things and even let me sample some flavors. I chose the Coco Berry bowl which has a frozen coconut base with granola, agave, strawberries and blueberries on top. It was so yummy and the portion is huge! The decor is mostly pineapple/tropical themed which I think is cute. I will definitely be back and can't wait to try more things from their menu!! read more

I am glad Pequannock now has a go to spot for bowls, juices, and smoothies. I was spoiled living near the Montclair location and have tried other Playa Bowl locations at the Jersey Shore. Both the online and in-person ordering systems work efficiently. They do tend to get pretty busy on weekend afternoons and you may end up waiting 10-15 minutes for your order. All of the recipes have been consistent in quality and presentation. You may get some attitude when asking to change an order if you forgot to mention you didn't want something though. All of the items are a little expensive starting around $10 but they are worth it for what you get. Personally I'm not a fan of acai or pitaya so I usually stick to the green bowls but there are several different options for each bowl base. Lots of seating indoors. There is also usually a surf video playing on the TVs. I would recommend Playa Bowls for anyone looking for a healthy treat or lunch. read more

Bowls are good like every other playa bowls. Some of the fruit in the bowls still have stems though. Polite staff, I just feel even though the mask mandate has been lifted, I think they should still wear them while preparing people's food, for basic sanitation even if they are vaccinated. I love this Playa Bowls location. It's spacious with a great parking lot. They have plenty of tables inside, including a few "booths" which have surf boards as the tables. Every Playa Bowls location I've been to has always been nicely decorated with a beach theme, and this one is no different. If you've never had a bowl before, I recommend the Nutella acai bowl as a good place to start. The nutella mixed with the acai and granola is such a great taste. This place is excellent. I'm not normally a healthy eater but i try. My friend goes here a lot so i thought I 'd try it. I got something called a Bae bowl which has strawberries in it which i love. I cant believe much food I got and couldn't finish and and was full. I also loves the nice beach decor and the fish tank i can watch on tv. My only negative review is i think they should post pictures of what they have so people have an idea of what their getting. I go here a few times a week because I like the smoothies. Every time I go I am greeted (or not so much greeted) by unenthusiastic and plain can't be bothered with you attitude from the employees. I do not expect a full peppy conversation but at least a "Hello, good morning". I also signed up for the rewards program since I was there so often. They never ask me if I am a member and seem annoyed when I ask them to put in my number. I even got a "ugh" from one employee like it was the worst thing ever. My boyfriend and I are regular customers at your store and very good friends with workers from your location and take the extra time in my drive just from how amazing your store always is but unfortunately Saturday afternoon I was very let down when my bowls where not even close to what I expected. I'm a picky eater and i'm sorry for being that way but I ordered a nutella bowl with special instructions ; I asked for granola only on the bottom, and it was added under and above the açaí which I did not want and it hasnt been a problem before. I asked for extra nutella all around even on top of the fruit like I normally get and the nutella was only on top of the granola and there wasn't extra. I ordered a pura vida bowl with no honey no strawberries but I asked for extra peanut butter and extra banana. I did not get a lot of peanut butter nor banana. There is plenty of seating and lots of staff so there is never really a long wait for anything. I've been to some locations where I wait up to 30 minutes! Not here, this place is great. Today I went to playa bowls for the first time, I had ordered an açaí bowl and my friend a pitaya. As I waited and watched my order being made, I observed the woman put on her gloves, pick up fruit with her hands, open cabinets, walk to the back and touch a door then carry a box back to the front, open it and pick up more fruit with her hands and put the fruit into the blender all with the same pair of gloves on... so no she did not change gloves the entire time, I was beyond grossed out... Aside from poor health practices, I usually get my bowls from sweetberry but since playa was around I figure it couldn't be all that different, boy was I wrong... the quality and taste of the product was lacking, sweetberry over fills their bowls so you receive an abundance of garnishes compared to playa... We work in this plaza and we LOVE the bowls but we draw straws on who has to go because it is literally painful to deal with the workers here. I get they are young kids but when we bring orders written they still have difficulty making them right. The one day we ordered 3 smoothies and the girl behind the register turned to her coworker and goes "ugh we have 3 smoothies" and the other girl turned and rolled her eyes.
