I was on the hunt for something healthy for lunch and stumbled upon My Salad in my Yelp search! It's not far from me at all so figured why not. My Salad has a big selection of signature salads along with warm bowls, wraps and toasties (toasted sandwiches) or you can create your own. There's plenty to choose from! I had the My Shrimp Taco Salad and a bag of chips and took it to go. Total cost was $19 which is pretty typical of most salad / bowls that you get in NYC and the surrounding tri-state area. I parked in the sprawling lot and walked into the quick-service spot, which was very fast-food-ish looking and reminded me of a Subway or something similar, rather than a more modern chain like Just Salad. I walked up to the counter to look at the salad topping options for building my own bowl. Aside from various types of proteins, I found the other vegetable items rather standard, with little out of the ordinary. However, I was thrilled that the base price included 7 vegetable/fruit topping options, which was more than most places provided. The staff was extremely friendly and gracious, even offering to toss the salad for me before placing it in the to-go container. When I got home and tried the salad, I found everything to be very fresh, and I really appreciated the tender, flavorful grilled chicken I had wisely included. I was really looking forward to a fresh, healthy meal, but unfortunately, I found bugs mixed in with the greens. At first I thought it was just debris, but after looking closer, it was definitely insects. Totally ruined my appetite. I understand that produce can sometimes have issues, but this should've been caught during washing or prep. It's unacceptable for something like that to make it to a customer. I ended up throwing out the meal, which was frustrating and honestly gross. I hope management takes this seriously and reviews their food handling and quality control processes no one wants an extra "protein" surprise in their salad. read more

This is the healthiest option in this outdoor strip mall with lots of other fast food temptations. I went with the warm bowl, make it myself and pleased to be able to add simple, simply prepared ingredients as my choices to build my bowl. I'll try a salad when it's a little warmer. The service was excellent, considering they had great patience with me as I deliberated. I left a cash tip and that seemed to prompt the gent who paid at the same time as he then also dropped something in the bucket. I asked where the pick up area was and they directed me and pulled my order. I thanked them and left. When I ate the burrito was very good. I really liked the chipotle sauce on the burrito. I accidentally found this place. I wanted sushi but for I'm reason they were closed and I ended up eating here. I'm not a big salad guy but I truly enjoyed this place. With that being said, they is not additional charge.... hold the phone.... sayyyy what. The only thin that you pay extra for is the protein. YES, you heard me right. So if you are like me and are really indecisive and like to experiment, you will be in for a treat. Finally a place that delivers and gets the order correct and the food is great ! After multiple bad experiences with their competitor we have them a try. Went to My Salad to send my Valentine a surprise lunch for Valentine's Day on advice from my manager.. the associate behind the register couldn't be more helpful! Super fresh crisp colorful salad toppings. Just a total cut above any chain salad places. The chicken was 100% fresh, none of that rubbery odd texture stuff. Even better was the dressing. Orange sesame was absolutely delicious. Worth the $10+ bucks because I got SO MANY toppings and the quality was there! They also have fresh squeezed juice blends and really nice looking avocado toast options that I'll definitely try next time. Owner didn't hesitate to check ingredient list for my one food allergy. I live in Rutherford but I found this hidden gem when I came to a meeting with my accountant in Fairfield. Whereas SaladWorks lettuce looks and tastes like dumpster lettuce, MySalad lettuce and toppings are always fresh and varied and tasty. Never ever disappointed here. Ever. Ever!!! The dressings are delish. Portions are good. Staff always friendly and pleasant. I legit go out of my way to come as often as I can. My accounting team always teases me, joking that I come to the office just so I can go to MySalad after. And I am like it's five mins away, how do you not go every day!!??! Bc I would.
