Run don't walk! first time trying this pumpkin pie smoothie(it's seasonal) and it is AMAZINGGGG! They're located right on the main street in Pleasantville. So it's easily accessible with street parking. The ambiance inside was very beach-y. I felt like I traveled somewhere else and left NY. I ordered an 8th Ave - Açaí bowl. It was great! As you can see from my pictures it was the prettiest açaí bowl I've ordered. They seemed extremely rushed (behind the counter) and super busy. So maybe that's where they cut corners (making açaí bowls that are pleasant to look at). But it was definitely the best açaí bowl I've had. I'd definitely stop back here! The only reason this isn't 4 stars is because of the rudeness and dysfunction of the staff. Rude attitude, poor at taking payment, poor multitasking. Have I not already reviewed the almighty Playa Bowls? So I was visiting friends in Colts Neck, NJ and they went out to grab breakfast one day and asked me what type of 'bowl' I liked. Ummm, the kind that smokes and smells funny? But that's not what they meant. They were referring to AÇAÍ bowls as they had a place called FRUTTA BOWLS right around the corner. I had no clue but I tried a bowl and really liked it. I asked if this was a new thing and they were like NOOO, there's gotta be a FRUTTA Bowls or PLAYA Bowls near you! Seconds later they're like 'How far are you from Pleasantville?' Umm, like 15 minutes. So the first chance I get, I head straight to Playa Bowls and I gotta say -- it's WAAYYYYYY BETTER than FRUTTA Bowls. We ordered a modified Nutella açaí bowl with peanut butter, bananas, strawberries, and other goodies. It was insanely good and looked even better. I've also ordered their chia bowls, green bowls, pitaya bowls, oatmeal bowls and everything else they offer. Everything is always stellar. The place is clean and very sanitary. I've never had anything that tasted anything less than fresh and have never had to return anything for them getting an order wrong. Best of all, whenever we take someone here for the first time, they fall in love with the place and think we're the best for introducing them to a real BOWL place and not these horrible local smoothie places that pop up every six months and charge you $10 for 2 ounces of granola, 2 ounces of açaí and three slices of banana and serve it to you in a paper cup. If you love açaí bowls and piling on the toppings, you owe it to yourself to bring it to Playa Bowls. And if you don't love açaí bowls, remember: Don't hate the Playa...hate the game. read more

We stopped by this place last and, even though by this point I had had my fill of frozen fruit--of all I have to say it was my favorite. Mainly because of the true next-level variety of the place. They have banana bowls, which I had never even seen before, as well as green bowls, which are this amazing blend of kale and frozen pineapple. The Nica Bowl was absolutely amazing, as was the Pacific Bowl. They also have what looked like pretty sick oatmeal bowls. I will say I kind of wish they put more peanut butter onto the nica, but I'm splitting hairs. The service here is also great and they had this like long line of attentive young people creating the bowls at a breakneck pace. Usually I love this place, some of the workers are so kind and efficient. I never come in early, but on Thursday I went in a little after opening before hitting the road. One of the workers was on her phone and when i walked up gave me the rudest look and didn't even greet me. Does no one know of customer service anymore!?! They have a lot of different options not just in toppings but also what kind of bowl you actually want whether it's an açaí or pitaya etc. I think it's a really nice healthy option for breakfast or even as a larger dessert as my niece had wanted it the first time I took her. The second time I brought her I also brought my husband and we went for breakfast. I got the pitaya bowl with the Nutella and I thought it was extremely delicious.
