I came here and ordered an açaí bowl which was good but for me it was too sweet. I make my own açaí bowls but being that this place makes I wanted to try it. To me the açaí bowl I make at home taste better. The fruits were fresh but not sweet and flavorful. There was honey added and that was too much sugar for me. I would go back to try another item but not the açaí bowl. They have some coffee which I would be open to trying. The service was good; the bowl was bowl at the moment. The place was clean and spacious. If you don't make your own açaí bowl then yes this is the place for you. read more

I like making them at home, but going to Playa is an experience. The ambiance and vibes here definitely make you think you're on a beach. Overall I like the location and the food. However, the choice of music being played was very offensive and way to loud. They are playing Ragaeton, which is fine but the lyrics of some of the songs they played while I sat there were vile, and in a very sexual nature, and not in a good way. Will not be eating in again if they continue playing this music. read more

I love Playa Bowls but this one seemed a little off compared to other ones I've been to. Service seemed a bit lacking and the workers weren't friendly. I saw a lady oddly squatting down on her knees to fill my bowl with açaí and pitaya bases, seemed kind of odd. She accidentally put granola in mine when I had asked for no granola so she put the bowl to side, made a bowl for the customer after me, then used her hand to scoop out the granola instead of just making a new bowl. Also I got there 45 minutes before closing yet they had already closed off all the seating and were cleaning up. I was already planning to bring my açaí bowl back to my hotel to eat so this didn't affect me, but with so much time left before closing, it seemed a little crass to not have the option to eat there, as I definitely would've been finished with more than enough time before closing. Also they have separate prices for if you pay cash vs with a credit card. Overall this is one of the least friendly Playa Bowls locations that I've been to despite pretty high prices. I've been eyeing Playa Bowls for a while, ever since I was walking in downtown White Plains and noticed their impending opening. I wasn't too familiar with the brand at that time, just that they specialized in açaí bowls. They have a few other locations in Westchester, so I decided to check out the Tarrytown location and had a good experience. I noticed that the grand opening here in WP was today, so I decided to head over and check it out. Playa Bowls is located centrally in downtown White Plains, right on Main St steps away from Mamaroneck Ave. Walking in, the aesthetics smack you in the face - it's very beachy with lots of aqua blues, pinks, and yellows. The company originated in NJ and summer Jersey Shore vibes are definitely seen here. The space isn't too large, but it's on par with other fast service spots. The menu contains a variety of bowls as well as juices and smoothies. I decided to go relatively simple and order the Pura Vida bowl. In addition to the açaí, it contained granola, blueberries, and strawberries drizzled in honey. The bowl was good - there was a good amount of each component without being overwhelming, and the flavors complemented each other. All the ingredients tasted super fresh as well. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a good first experience at the White Plains' Playa Bowls. I'm excited that this location opened; it's contributing to the growing diversity and selection of food offerings in White Plains and I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

So far I have been really pleased with the food and service at this new location. My go to order is the Tropical, an acai bowl topped with blueberries, strawberries and coconut, among other goodies. I have also enjoyed the Electric Mermaid, with pitaya. I have been pleased with the quality of the fruits. They have a well curated selection of packaged drinks to go along with your bowl. Love love love playa bowl, I crave it every week! It's really nice that there is a gluten free granola option & their almond butter is literal crack it's so good. My only complaint is that they don't offer smaller sizes, sometimes I just can't eat the huge portion & it is never as good the next day after being in the freezer. read more

I was super excited when I saw Playa Bowls was opening in White Plains as there is limited healthy food spots and definitely no decent places to get a good smoothie in downtown White Plains post workout. I stepped into Playa Bowl and to my smoothie delight, Diamond and A.J. (working behind the counter) were nice enough to let me try some samples and they concocted the "smoothie of my dreams". You really can't beat the quality smoothie and good customer service (hard to get these days) at Playa Bowls White Plains. Needless to say, I will be returning...quite frequently! read more

i am starting to notice more and more diverse shops in white plains especially while walking around the downtown area and look folks its a playa bowls store across the street from barnes and noble .i enjoy a good fruit smoothie when i can and today i can . from different type of bowls including the hipsters favorite acai bowls, oatmeal bowls, banana bowls and other weird named bowls or you can order one of the many smoothies or juices available or whatever else appeals to you on the menu board .limited seating inside and good amount of tables and chairs in front and its away from the pedestrian sidewalk so you can enjoy your bowl or smoothie without strangers stares as they walk by. mixed berry large smoothie hit the spot and its fresh and sweet just like me or not. the interior decor is a bit campy with its summer beach theme but its actually fun and the teenage girls giggling one table over would agree. drop that burger, pizza or other fast food crap and have a smoothie or acai bowl instead. 4 stars on my yelp meter. read more
