I love Playa! I'm so glad a WP location opened up. This is very convenient! My favorite thing to get here is the açaí bowl. They're always flavorful and fresh. I like making them at home, but going to Playa is an experience. The ambiance and vibes here definitely make you think you're on a beach. I highly recommend coming here if you think you need a vacation, even for a few minutes.

I've been eyeing Playa Bowls for a while, ever since I was walking in downtown White Plains and noticed their impending opening. I wasn't too familiar with the brand at that time, just that they specialized in açaí bowls. They have a few other locations in Westchester, so I decided to check out the Tarrytown location and had a good experience. I noticed that the grand opening here in WP was today, so I decided to head over and check it out. Playa Bowls is located centrally in downtown White Plains, right on Main St steps away from Mamaroneck Ave. Walking in, the aesthetics smack you in the face - it's very beachy with lots of aqua blues, pinks, and yellows. The company originated in NJ and summer Jersey Shore vibes are definitely seen here. The space isn't too large, but it's on par with other fast service spots. The menu contains a variety of bowls as well as juices and smoothies. I decided to go relatively simple and order the Pura Vida bowl. In addition to the açaí, it contained granola, blueberries, and strawberries drizzled in honey. The bowl was good - there was a good amount of each component without being overwhelming, and the flavors complemented each other. All the ingredients tasted super fresh as well. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a good first experience at the White Plains' Playa Bowls. I'm excited that this location opened; it's contributing to the growing diversity and selection of food offerings in White Plains and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

So far I have been really pleased with the food and service at this new location. My go to order is the Tropical, an acai bowl topped with blueberries, strawberries and coconut, among other goodies. I have also enjoyed the Electric Mermaid, with pitaya. I have been pleased with the quality of the fruits. They have a well curated selection of packaged drinks to go along with your bowl. There's a good amount of indoor seating, and when the weather suits, three outdoor tables.

Super cute playa bowls location in White Plains. Have stoped by a few times now. Ordered on the app a few times and pick up was easy. Ordering inside the shop didn't take too long either. The portion size here is definitely the best one I have seen so far, the bowl is filled to the top! My go to order is the Nutella bowl with açaí base. I have tried the coconut base and it was delicious as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. The staff are very also friendly!

This restaurant was bustling on a Saturday afternoon. They have about seven or eight tables indoors…read moreand a couple tables outside. There were also several picnic benches around the side of the building, but I wasn't clear if they belonged to the restaurant. You order at the register and they call out your name when your food is ready. They have a ton of vegan/vegetarian options, as well as a great breakfast/brunch menu. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit. The cheddar jalapeño biscuit was delicious. It was buttery and dense. The flavors were mild, but the sandwich was the perfect portion size. I also got a side of the vegan bacon. It was rubbery and tough to chew. Would not recommend. My husband enjoyed the breakfast burrito. We also shared the buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower pieces were well coated in buffalo sauce and very flavorful. I also got the Don't Kale Me juice. It was tangy, citrusy, and refreshing. The Deep Roots smoothie was also quite tasty. They have free self-serve water and the employees were quick to wipe down tables so they were clean for the next party. Looking forward to coming again!

Going inside Grass Roots Kitchen was a breath of fresh air. The aesthetics put me in the mind of earth day and such beautiful paintings on the wall and flowers and greenery throughout. Grass Roots Kitchen offers have high tops dining as well as, regular dining, and outside dining. The dining area is pretty large, length wise and beautifully attractive. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit with the help of the cashier, I didn't get her name and it's on the receipt but I threw it out. Even though this was not a vegan dish, who could pass on a collosal cheese biscuit. The egg was a nice accompaniment to this cheese biscuit also. The lady that gave me the biscuits said, wow! That smells nice. I thought she was giving me a compliment on the order until I sniffed the bag. Normally I don't do well with my sense of smell but, boy oh boy! That was a gooooooood smelling biscuit. And the taste, it tastes so good, it makes you want to slap yo momma. (Don't do it, it just makes you want to slap her.) Needless to say, I really enjoyed this cheese biscuit. In hindsight I guess I could have grabbed a hot drink, maybe next time, and there will be a next time because I told the lady that this was my first time and at the restuarant and I'm new in the area. She said she's looking forward to seeing me again. I'm looking forward to more eats and treats or treats and eats. Whatever it is, just ... Inspire more, Yelp more!

The dan dan noodles didn't taste like any I've had in the past, so I'm not sure if it would be better with a different name, but the dish itself was great. When our order was ready, the woman at the counter (didn't catch her name) brought it to us, which I really appreciated. We were in and out in under ten minutes.
