I explained that my toddler literally couldn't drink the beverage I had just purchased without it. The barista went back to check with the manager a second time, and the manager still said no. Rather than deal with a massive spill or a toddler meltdown, I chose to buy a completely separate smoothie just so my daughter could use that straw for her original drink. Denying a parent a simple straw for a toddler after a purchase is incredibly disappointing. I really hope management considers adding a bit more flexibility and kindness to their customer service in the future.
