My favourite place on the island…read more So relaxing and peaceful. As its the locals beach, not many tourists are seen, only locals, which makes it quieter and more cultural. Its clean and its lovely to sit on the warm sand looking at a good view. Rather than looking at an endless sea, you can enjoy the view of the mountains. The bars and restaurants by La Puntilla (at the beginning of the Las Canteras) are nice to sit in with a nice drink and with traditional food (really good food). You get good food + drinks for a good price with a great view and great weather. Its so quiet and fewer people unlike the beach down south in Playa del Ingles which is full of tourists everywhere! In the evening you get to walk in the shore and enjoy a great view of the sunset listening to waves. Id choose this beach on the island any day

We stayed for 2 hours. There are shops all along the beach! We went to a coffee shop and ice cream (froyo) on our way to this beach. One thing I liked was that the beach was pretty shallow - great for parents with kids to not have to worry about the beach being too deep for their children. This beach is pretty mossy and had lots of rocky areas. I did see lots of crabs all over the rocky parts of the beach. I love that they are able to live in their natural habitat but did not like how they were everywhere - eeeek!!! Overall nice beach!

Lots of restaurants on the beach with cheap cold beer and tasty seafood. Sand is quite coarse and not very soft. Most of the beach is filled with sun beds and umbrellas - (12eu for 2 beds and an umbrella). There are public bathrooms (0.6eu) showers, and lockers.

There is free parking for your car but be on time since the surroundingsare very popular with tourists and local people. The beach is extremely suitable for small children since it is very shallow. There are a lot of good restaurants that serve good food during the whole day. And don't forget to enjoy some cold beers around noon : to attract people, most of the restaurants offer their beers at half price (price range 1,50 EUR - 2,00 EUR). The dunes are simply stunning and give certain areas of the beach a special feeling of serenity despite it being populated by many tourists, as It's truly a treat to just swim immersed by the sands and the sea, without any distracting promenades (plus, at some spots the dunes even allow some growth of various desert bushes which you can conveniently hide under when the sun gets too intense). On the other hand, if busy promenades and a lot of bars and shops is what you want, just move along a few minutes down the beach and you have all that too. Know that some areas of the beach are dedicated to nudists - but that's a small minority. The sand here is pleasantly fine-grained and smooth, and the entrance into the sea is pleasantly gradual. The waves can get quite intense, though, but I suppose that's just the nature of Atlantic, not a fault of the beach itself.

I've been here…read moretwice in the first week of living on this island, and both times, nothing but joy and relaxation had taken over my body. The view from every angle is just breathtaking. My little one loves playing in the sand whether it's near the dunes or further north. And because the waves are bigger towards the south, he prefers the calmness of the waters closer to playa de San Agustin. From what I have seen, this beach is very clean and very family friendly. But remember, you're in Spain, so tops and bottoms of swimsuits might be missing from several bodies on the beach. To me, it just adds to the laid back culture here on the island and that's perfect! I didn't see any places to wash off like they have in las canteras, a beach further north, but I may have missed them. That is the only little improvement they could add.

Welcome! if you can avoid the above you may enjoy the beach.. oh hold on. No I do not want a sunbed, no I am ok - no umbrella for me. Pfft. If all that hasn't worn you out, I can tell that the beach and the water is clean and enjoyable. I can also tell you that there is a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and clubs on the Playa del Ingles. It is inevitable that at some point during your stay you will spend some time here. Enjoy.
