It feels like a friend's rich parent's fancy basement where you would get super wasted and play games with friends. Definitely come on a chill weeknight when it's quiet to avoid the chaos. The machines are pricier than other barcades, so we played more board games than pinball. It's more of a place to have a drink than to game for me. The bartender seemed unhappy when we walked in, and our group of 4 were the only customers so that was a bit awkward. The door guy was awesome though. We'd absolutely come back when in DC. read more

Absolutely love this place! Be warned--it is super loud and very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. However, that's exactly what I'm looking for when I go out. The music is always a great mix of 80s hits (Bee Gees, ABBA, MJ, etc.). The drinks are appropriately priced. If you're coming here to play billiards on the weekend, don't bother. It's almost impossible to get a table, unless you can beat the finance bros. Still super fun! read more

It's a bar in a basement babe what more do you need? The drinks are strong and well priced. Just enough seating to standing ratio to feel like the place is full without seeming overcrowded. For a Friday night I'd say it was pretty packed but everyone was respectful and that's all you can ask for. There are pool tables on the right side of the bar and a slew of retro games to the left side of the bar that includes a dual basketball net. A slew of TVs line the walls and bar area as well. On the way to the bathroom there's a Photo Booth ($7) that is very popular so that side of the bar gets a bit congested as the line forms. If you weren't aware you might think it's a massive bathroom line but it's just for the PB, this is just an observation not a complaint. This location also has a rooftop which I'm sure is lovely during the warmer months. Parking in this area is absolutely awful, even in the dead of winter you'd be better off parking 4-5 blocks away and taking an Uber or walking. I mean so bad I considered just going home after driving around 20mins in search of a spot. Besides that I'm not so sure that this location is for "my" people based on the demographics and music that night. It was cute enough for me to come back if I wanted to grab a drink and could find parking in a reasonable time frame. By far the biggest upside to this place is the ability to bring in outdoor food. Came here for a post dinner drink and to peep at my partner playing pool. If you come here on a weeknight it will be empty, but honestly it is a chill place to grab a drink, play a game, and chat with your friends. There can be a line out of the door on weekends, but it is one of my go to places. Hear me out, it used to be my first date spot. Downstairs you have plenty of seating, there are couches if you want a more intimate spot to chat, the bar with TVs so you have something to talk about or start the night off. If it is nice out you have the rooftop to go to and there are plenty of arcade games to play to bring out your competitive side. The downstairs is pretty much all beers, but they have a wide selection of things. Just know that you cannot bring your drink upstairs and vice versa. read more

The Player's Club is a cool, adults only (we ditched the little ones for a bit) arcade on a VERY busy 14th street. There's a LOT happening on 14th, in a good way. Wear some comfy shoes and bring that energy! As soon as you set foot in the PC basement, you feel cooler. While dark over all, there are specific lit areas that host pool tables, drinking booths, the bar (center), and some retro video/pinball games. Price point is perfect for the atmosphere/vibe. We'd encourage the PC to add some more retro games and (PLEASE) fix the "sit downs" that were along the wall by the bathroom. We fondly remember the sit down style classics from Pizza Hut back in the day and understand how rare they are. Please, check out Kansas City's Up Down for their classic gaming list. Awesome service and games option. Bar guy Jose was super awesome. Treated with his nice smile to literally everyone! The guy at door was totally cool! I could play pool while not being with the group which is plus, that people were super friendly to play along. My drink was cleaned up while I was in rest room and Jose got me a new drink with no charge, shows their commitment for a good customer service. Being in customer service and employee experience company I could tell both sides of coin. For a Wednesday night it wasn't super crowded but enough that all pool tables were occupied. 2 $ for a pool table is NOT bad in DC downtown! I'm staying two blocks away so I'd totally love coming down here after work, almost every night. Next to Shake Shack is an interesting store called "Player's Club," which drew us in when we found out it was a billiards/games/bar type of spot. The ambiance was very cool- retro with the furniture, pinball machines, but also modern with basketball, skee ball, pool, board games. It's a fun place to get a group together to hang out, date night, or just to meet people. I would totally return if I lived in DC. For now I will just recommend it to future visitors. read more

Never have I been to a place in my life where I felt scared and disrespected. I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent visit here. I believe it is important to bring these concerns to up in order to truly improve the establishments in the dmv. I came here on a Sunday night and just wanted to get a drink and play arcade games. But my experience was cut short with truly disrespectful staff. Firstly, the service provided at players club was exceptionally poor. The staff accused me of video taping the venue as I was filing for a reel for DMVfood. The staff actually came INTO my shot and said it was my fault for filming. In addition, afterwards The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive throughout the evening. I felt extremely uncomfortable afterwards and then the bar manager said told the bar manager that took an unreasonably long time for our orders to be taken, and when they finally arrived, the drinks were poorly prepared and lacked the quality one would expect from a reputable bar. The bar manager decided that my comment warranted me to be kicked out.The bartenders appeared overwhelmed and understaffed, which led to further delays and a general sense of frustration among the customers. Moreover, the atmosphere within the bar was far from enjoyable.. It was disappointing to witness a lack of attention to detail in creating a welcoming and pleasant environment for your customers. Furthermore, I would like to highlight the cleanliness issue that was apparent during my visit. The tables were unclean, and empty glasses and plates were left uncleared for extended periods. This not only compromised the hygiene standards but also contributed to a cluttered and unkempt appearance of the bar. Overall, my experience at players club fell significantly short of my expectations. As a customer, I believe it is important to voice my concerns and offer feedback in the hope that improvements can be made. I genuinely hope that you take these concerns seriously and take appropriate steps to address the issues raised. It is my sincere wish that future patrons will not experience this. read more

Went here last week. Was very good vibes. I didn't expect it to be poppin but was def a vibe in there. Lots of people were out. They had plenty of games. The drinks were kind of lacking, they didn't have pineapple juice for my tequila and pineapple. That's wack. And I guess I hate the cups they have with no straws. If you're looking to really enjoy the games I would recommend going in the day time and not a weekend night. It gets super packed and around 10 pm there was even a line to get in. There's a basement with a bar and arcade games and the upstairs has a semi enclosed area with a bar and outside rooftop seating. I will say the drinks/ shots are very cheap some of the lowest prices you'll find in that area. Keep in mind that they do not have a food menu but you're allowed to bring in your own food. read more

Great ambiance! The entrance is unassuming but leads into a really swanky and spacious games bar with foosball tables, video games, and a large bar. We spent our Tuesday evening on the rooftop, which was gorgeous. Incredible views right from the best of Logan Circle, with lots of comfortable and varied seating options (couches, high tops, picnic tables) and a well priced bar. They have gender neutral bathrooms. The bartender seemed a little inexperienced in his knowledge of cocktails and even mixed two different white wines in one glass, but overall still solid for drinks. Come play Pool, Arcade Games (in a rotating fashion so all can enjoy), Basketball Hoops, Foosball & a few Living Room with every Board Game you can imagine. The huge square Bar stayed packed, Flatscreens throughout while the DJ spins on the raised platform. There a Coat Check. No kitchen, yet you can order from Shake Shack located upstairs easily from the Bar. I have to keep it real, as many times I've passed the Players Club, I thought it was an Adult Entertainment environment...no judgement, just stating. Bar has potential but rude, power tripping staff and strange unclear made my friends and I feel unsafe and scammed. Bought a drink on the roof and immediately went downstairs to get a friend, and then the aggressive elevator attendant only let some people back upstairs but not my friend and I. I was sober, paid full price for a drink, and was separated from my group, but was not allowed to get my drink nor rejoin my group. I was never warned about this policy nor did the elevator attendant even bother explaining why I wasn't allowed up. I have been to Players Club a couple times... it seems like more than a barcade from outside... it seems like a gentlemen's club or something LOL. So you have to show your ID and then down the stairs you go. The place is deceptively huge!!! There's pinball, Pacman, skeeball... a couple arcade games like NBA, Mortal Kombat, Tetris.... all that good stuff. And there's plenty of tables, lounge space, and a fully stocked bar! In terms of content, this might be one of the best DC has to offer. But there's a price... the crowd, the constant breakdown of certain machines, and the requirement of exchanging for in-house tokens. The crowd can be overbearing, it doesn't seem like the machines get fixed immediately, and the token thing is 'classic', if you will... but when machines eat tokens or the lines or long you wish that the system didn't exist at all. Tonight was the first night that I went to this location, when we entered it was empty and everything seemed fine at first but the rest of the night went horribly. The bartender refused to serve me drinks it seemed as though he would only take orders from the other older white people there. You can't play the games without cash and the atm gives you large bills. Bouncer was rude as we left as well as the server and manager there. Terrible bar - overpriced drinks, extremely rude staff, and strange policies. Two women in our group went to the bathroom together, and when they came out, the bouncer kicked them out of the bar. Apparently there's a 1 person only rule for the bathrooms, but we were given no notice. Staff was extremely rude, would not allow them to go back to the table to grab their things, and had 3 large bouncers escort them down the elevator and outside like they were convicts. The rest of our group got a phone call from the other two girls saying they had been kicked out, so when another member of the group asked the bartender why, the rest of the group was told to leave as well. It was a very casual birthday gathering, nobody was too drunk or being obnoxious, and we were told we couldn't even finish our drinks and had to leave immediately. Came in on Saturday night around 8pm. Parking was a little difficult because everyone is going to DC around this time. Once you provide your I.D. to the bouncer, you walk down the stairs and you'll see the bar and pool tables. That level is full of arcade games, pinball machines and a photo-booth as well. The games/photo-booth ranges from 50 cents to a dollar. The machines will take cash or coins. The bartenders are pretty quick with getting your drinks to you. They have an elevator that will take you to the roof. The roof has a bar and outside seatings! I left the rooftop around 9 or 10pm and the line for people to ride the elevator to get to the rooftop was long! I really appreciate the options they provide. They provide the rooftop bar as you can talk to your friends in a more calm environment and games/music downstairs where everyone can play and compete. I would come here again. read more

However, I'm particularly upset because I set the high score on the basketball machine but the manager said he isn't putting my name up. I asked why, and he said my sensor is broken. I had been playing the machine all night, there was nothing wrong with a sensor, but as soon as I win it's broken. He said, "bottom line, I'm not putting your name up there". Came here with a small group on a Saturday night and was very pleasantly surprised! This bar has a great laid-back vibe and is perfect for those wanting a chill night out but involving more than just sitting around. The music is great, old-school themed with lots of throwbacks and oldies. Unfortunately there isn't a dance floor or anything, but it's not so strange to bust out a move or two if you're really feeling the music! There's also a great assortment of seating, ranging from couches to high tops, bar seats and booths throughout. There's an excellent variety of games, everything from Pac-Man to Mortal Kombat, from skeeball to billiards. The female bartender last night was inebriated and/or on drugs last night and could not function. We waited 30 damn minutes for cocktails and she was too busy taking shots and serving customers that came after us. She completely forgot about our drinks and when I told her don't worry it she had no idea what I was talking about. I gave her a $5 bill to change for the machines and she asked me how I wanted it back. Ummm....okkkk. She proceeded to count the $1 bills out very slowly and almost fell over. Honestly we ended up leaving because we couldn't get a drink. We played games and left after $6, there were a lot of pinball machines and old school arcade games that accept $1 bills and the only place to get change is the bartenders that don't serve drinks. A friend recommended Players Club for a quick catch-up for a small group of friends. It has a fairly nondescript and easy to miss sign at street level, so do keep your eyes peeled (being right next to Shake Shack makes it easier to locate) As an arcade, it's fairly lacking. The space isn't utilized particularly well as all the machines are pressed into the walls (this makes perfect sense when you're trying to create a hybrid arcade/lounge atmosphere, but invariably leads to crowd flow issues). The fact that most, if not all, of the machines are unable to accept quarters is a bit of a drag, and the high prices for play is also an annoyance. Full disclosure: I was recently at an arcade bar in Seattle which was much better executed, so perhaps my critique is overly influenced by that experience. As a bar, there isn't much which distinguishes Players Club from just about any other offering in DC. The drinks are fairly standard price, the service is about what you'd expect, and the clientele ranges from yuppie to Hill or Hill-ancillaries (again standard, most especially in light of what the area has/is becoming). Players Club is solid enough for a jolt of kitsch, but can't see why it would be anyone's go-to or regular spot. read more

I used to love this place and came here all the time! Today I went for a drink and wanted to go to the upstairs bar. I presented my ID to the guy to the elevator and he was going to let me up. The girl working there felt it was necessary to ask for my ID again to see my picture. My ID picture was from the pandemic where I didn't cut my hair for a full year and shaved. However it was clear from the picture that it was me. I wonder If I was anyone else if they would still ask for my ID a second time? I highly doubt it and will never come here again. read more
