Bathrooms still need TLC and aren't wheelchair accessible (too tiny). Drinks were decently priced. VCR (vodka cranberry redbull) was $8 with rail vodka. Food and drinks have to be ordered at the bar. We came here with some friends for a small reunion and had a good time! I ordered the Baja Burger and my husband got the Poker Ho burger! We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice to us and attentive. It started to get crowded, busy and loud but we got our food pretty quick and we enjoyed our burgers! The burgers were bigger than we expected! They tasted fresh and the meat was well cooked! I like how they added a pickle on the side and you got to choice either salted potato chips or fries! This isn't a pristine "chain" bar. No sir - this is an old-school BAR. Their "kitchen" is right there in front of you if you feel like watching them cook food. I was meeting up with some people - the ultimate destination was The Berrymore, so meeting up at Players for some food and beverages made a bunch of sense. We met up around 4:30pm and there was plenty of space to grab a table and get settled in. By the time we were done there (around 7:30pm), the place was quite busy. And rightly so! The chip and dip burger was the beef seasoned with French onion soup mix topped with a house made French onion dip. This burger was really tasty and I have to say that it worked very well with the dip on top and it was so simple it was delicious but messy. They are mainly known for their burgers here I believe, as they have a decent size selection that's constant, plus daily/weekly specials! Burgers are all reasonably priced around $7-8ish dollars, with fries and tots upgrades for $1-2. Fries and tots are made very well. I've tried the Baja Burger and the Lotza Mozta burgers, both are delicious. They come in 1/2 lbs and I believe that they get it fresh from Jennifer St Market. Try their hot sauces! They have a couple of different variety, including an Indian Curry and Sweet potato one. I think there was also one that was blueberry? There's pool, ping pong, and a ring toss to the wall. This cash only business was hopping. The beer prices were reasonable. After seeing the rave reviews on the burgers I ordered a bacon cheeseburger which was solid but not exceptional. My wife ordered the buzzy sandwich with bacon - she liked it a lot. The guy running the grill also delivered the food - he really was running all evening. No complaints here! I had not heard of this place until I went on Sunday. It wasn't super busy even though it was game day. It was an enjoyable atmosphere. They are cash only, but there is an ATM inside for you to use. I got a toasted Turkey Club. I thought the ingredients were great and it was toasted to how I like it. They use heirloom tomatoes from what I saw, so that's pretty neat. The Bloody Mary's here are decent too. It was only $6! You can choose to get it spicy, which is what I did. It wasn't overly spicy, so I enjoyed it thoroughly. I feel like I should have gotten a burger. I guess if I ever feel inclined to watch a game again or if I feel like getting a good burger, I'll stop by here and see what everyone's talking about! read more

Not only was it an ample half- pounder, but it was balanced between the power of bacon and blue, and the raw onion, lettuce and tomato. And it was actually cooked MR! No foodie gentrification hipster pretension here. Also it wasn't all stocky white people. It was stocky people representing several ethnicities. Beer was local and crafty. Not at Players - hand pattied in view of the customer. Meat is from the Jennifer Street Market - Right around the corner. You want your burger rare - Fine... It's rare... Sha- Freaking- Zam! I think perhaps the only Burger Joint in town that is capable of cooking a burger properly to order. Sandwiches come with pub chips - you can upgrade to fries for a buck... Other stuff like onion rings for $2. The sides are frozen and then dropped in the fryer. But you are here for the burgers - they are fresh, as is everything on them. The tomato on my burger was actually tasty. My only complaint is the burgers could use a more robust bun... But the fact that Players can properly cook a burger makes this discretion forgivable. Their meat is delivered fresh daily from the Jenifer Street Market and their buns are from the Madison Sourdough bakery, which you can taste the freshness. Today I ordered their Mardi Gras special burger, which was topped with peppers, andouille sausage, micro shrimp slaw, and Cajun sour cream. The andouille sausage paired excellently; this is definitely one of the best burgers I have had. I really hope to see this on the menu again! I'll be craving it real soon.
