I cannot sing the praises of Playtime more. My dog absolutely loves it and I feel confident she is in good hands when I leave her there for both daycare and boarding. We have been using Playtime for about 2 years now. The location is convenient and front desk staff know my pup by name (which always makes me smile). I also love that they post pictures throughout the day of the pups having fun. Playtime is affordable for both daycare and boarding. I also love that I don't need a reservation to bring my dog to daycare - it gives me greater flexibility on when to use my days. Another major perk of Playtime is that they have a large outdoor play area -this was a major pro on my list when I was looking for daycares. I can't say enough good things about Playtime.. having never taken my dogs to any other daycares, I have nothing to gauge my rescue against, but I still say that my dog loves when I ask her if she wants to go to Playtime, and she leaves there very reluctantly when I pick her up. The staff knows her personality, let's get play with with the dogs that also like to play with, and they also take great daily (usually) photos of all the dogs at daycare, and post them on Facebook. I do wish their package deals were a little better.. We prepaid for 20 visits and only saved 2 dollars a visit for our loyalty. It's not a big deal, because we really do like that we can bring our dog for a half day or whole day of playtime with zero advanced notice. read more

Playtime is our pup's happy place! We have been taking our pup to Playtime in West Allis for 4 years. She is a regular for daycare, grooming and sometimes boards there as well. The staff greet her by name and handle her big personality well. We are always given pass on updates by the staff so we know how her day went and if she needs any special care. Our dog is over the moon to see her people every time she goes to "play friends". The big, open play areas indoor and out are part of why we love Playtime so much. They have play structures for the doggos and during hot weather offer pool and water play to help keep them cool. The facility is well maintained, receiving regular updates to keep it safe and bright. There are a lot of other choices out there, some of which we have tried, but I will only send my pup to Playtime Doggy Daycare. read more

We scheduled our dog MONTHS in advanced for boarding. I called them a week prior to our vacation that we had planned months ago - and they confirmed. The day before we leave we went to take him and they refused him because he didn't have an update vaccine! WHY DIDNT THEY TELL ME THIS!? I call upset and the manager hangs up on me. I call back and they pick up and hang up, twice. The manager then calls my husband telling him that it is not their job or responsibility to tell us what vaccine our dog needs. If they would've told us we would've moved his appt up for his vaccine. These idiots know we are relying on them to take care of our dog and this is how they treat their customers? I would much rather chew glass with no teeth then to ever take my dog here with these careless animals. I hope that manager loses her job! She is not cut for this. Our family Loves to play here. We've tried several locations in Milwaukee & Waukesha and they are the only business that truly treats us like family. We've taken our boys there for years (both rescues). Recently our husky passed away leaving a huge void and causing our Golden to slip into a bit of depression. My dog jumps. She is a year old and still learning manners. She can also jump fairly high and unfortunately loves to lick peoples faces. Sometimes she's not always the most gentle, but she has never hurt anyone and she always does it out if excitement. Apparently this is against the rules, but also there are also no rules. My dog got kicked out of daycare because she jumps too much and the short handlers don't know how to handle it. I was given a warning, but no one told me that she could get kicked out. If you read the agreement that they have you sign, there is nothing that talks about your dog getting kicked out. There is also nothing on their website that talks about this. I get having aggressive dogs not being allowed, but my dog is not aggressively jumping and they even said that when I called them to talk about the situation. I mentioned that there were no rules listened anywhere and expressed my frustrations and all I got was "I'm sorry". I also want to express that they are breaking their own rules in the agreement by using my dogs name without my permission. In their agreement, it says that they will use any pictures they take (oh and the most recent ones were putting a camera right in my dogs faces, no wonder why she might start jumping at you) but they will not use any dogs names on postings and they do it almost every time. I don't care, but if you are going to knock my dog for rules that are not listed or explained, then you should be able to follow your own rules. I am not a person who normally complains and honestly this might be my first yelp review ever, but it really makes me mad, when I put my trust in a group to take care of my dog and they cannot even handle a little bit of jumping. I get it's not ideal and we are in training working on it, but she is a puppy, what do you expect her to do? read more

My dog stayed there while we were on vacation. She got sick with kennel cough & a UTI while she was there. ( my dog is used to being let out to pee at night, they have nobody there from 7pm to 6am) They were good at letting me know what was going on with her but it cost me a lot of money for medications to get rid of her kennel cough & urinary issues afterwards. Just not impressed with their human touch, or attention to detail. Observed the way they spoke to humans, left alot to be desired. I felt bad for the person the were scolding. My little Beagle always loved his trips to Playtime Doggy Daycare. I found the folks at Playtime to be warm, communicative, and always remembered my dog's name (in a sea of other Beagles). I feel that the group at Playtime really look after each dog and give each dog lots of time to play with the others (including time outdoors). Unfortunately, that is not always the case with other doggy daycare and boarding facilities. Also, if you are working at Froedtert or the Children's Hospital, it is easy to get to after work. Words cannot express how much we love Playtime West Allis. I am constantly shocked by how much they care and know about my dog. Some days I will pick him up and they say "he didn't drink a lot of water today so make sure he gets some at home!" they care for my dog like they would their own. This is the only place we will board him because he loves the staff and will play all day long! We also do mail trimmings for him whenever needed- it is so nice to drop my dog off and ask for a nail trim and know he is in great hands. My dog is obsessed with this place, we are obsessed with this place. If you don't check out playtime West Allis for your puppy, I truly think you are doing your dog a disservice. I'm new to the area and a pretty neurotic pet parent, so I was nervous to leave my dogs for a week while out of state. Playtime took SUCH good care of my dogs while I was away and they came home tired, clean, and happy. The staff is so sweet and caring and really listened to any worries I had about leaving my dogs. Many here do not have an outdoor area, those that do, have concrete outdoors and no turf.. it's a shame. Run away from this place. Staff is rude, owner threatened to sue me for a negative review on Google (real nice aye?). This is the only daycare my dog was scared to go back to. Makes me wonder what was going on behind closed doors. From what others on here & on Google say, the facility (excluding the office) is filthy. There are so many other great day cares in the Milwaukee area. Look elsewhere. Update: how the heck am I a competitor? Don't I have to have a job dealing with dogs for that to be possible?? Since our puppy (who is now 1 year old) really needs a chance to run off energy that our almost-14-year-old Husky doesn't keep up with, we spent a good day researching our options around town for doggie daycare facilities. These folks were the most helpful and cheapest option. For $20/day we have the peace of mind that Natasha is NOT destroying another book or piece of furniture at home (and not chewing on cables on the house or drowning in a downpour outside), but is instead well-integrated into a huge pack of dogs in a huge outdoor play space that boasts kiddie pools and ramps and other toys that let her burn off steam to her heart's content. She comes home pooped out for a few days, but has learned that Tuesdays are *her* day for daycare, so bounces around and howls at us to make sure we get her there on time. Definitely worth the investment for over-active dogs. :) read more

We love this place! The owner and staff really love dogs and their jobs. Our pups always have a great time whether it's for an overnight stay while we are out of town or just a day of play time during a long day while we are at work or cold winter days. Not only are they one of the cheaper options in the area, their location really cares about the dogs they have! They do a behavioral assessment the first time so the older dogs don't get stuck with the hard playing pups! They are very aware when it's warm out to make sure they dogs have enough water and to stay cool. They also make sure they know about how your dogs eat (grazers or specific times), and if they need to take medication. Our two dogs always come back exhausted and hoarse from the barking and playing. We have recommended this location to other friends with dogs and will continue to do so. read more

Best daycare! My boxer loves it - as I drop him he does not even notice that I leave the place. The staff is extremely nice and very good with dogs I highly recommend this place. I had bought an online deal for grooming and had heard a friend say she liked PDD so I was going to check them out. I had never taken my pet in for grooming before so I really had no idea what to expect or anything to compare it to. Staff was friendly and making the appt was very easy. Easy to find, right off Hwy 100 after Hobo. PDD has much to offer for our four legged furry friends. Indoor and outdoor play areas that are huge, grooming services and doggy daycare. Brought my Samoyed in for a washing and brushing and they did a great job from what I can tell. She's a big baby and they said she did just fine and seemed to like being there when I came to get her. Based on this experience, I would definitely return and would keep them in mind for some daycare when needed. read more

We are no longer going to be taking our puppy to Playtime. Unfortunately there are quite a few staff members (one of which being the manager) not wearing their masks or pulling them down their chin when working with customers even thought there is a state-wide mask mandate, including tonight when I was handed my puppy's leash by staff not wearing a mask. I didn't say anything in the moment because I was panicked and just trying to get my pup and get out of there as soon as possible. I am pregnant and high risk and I shouldn't feel unsafe picking up and dropping off my puppy. Unfortunately this is nothing new... no one should be walking through or serving customers in the lobby area not wearing a mask correctly at all times. That shouldn't be too much to ask. I have tried to stand outside and wave like the sign on the door says, but a lot of the times they don't see you especially if it's dark outside. So then people keep passing you up and you're basically never going to get a chance to pick up your dog unless you're going inside. It's the same case if I pop my head in and tell them I'm outside. Usually they're busy and don't see me and I'm getting passed up. Regardless of MY efforts to try and stay safe, I don't care where you stand on the mask issue (I know it's unfortunately controversial when it shouldn't be) but when state mandates are being ignored by a public business and possibly putting staff and customers at risk, I have a big problem with that. We also noticed the last time we brought our puppy, she has been pulling away and not wanting to go through the doors of the Doggy Daycare which is pretty concerning and out of character for her since she is always so happy go lucky. My dog went here a few times Fall 2018. A few strange things occurred with him that I can't point direct to blame but could only assume possibly what was going on. My dog is extremely energetic and friendly. I thought it was strange that they would post pictures of the dogs playing during the day and he was never in any of them. I know my dog and he's usually front and center. After the second time I dropped him off he was dreading going into the door, dragging his feet outside is super unlike him. When I picked him up, he would stink like pee, the workers always said he was a "good boy" when I asked. Never mentioned any bad behavior whatsoever. The final straw was when I put him in the car to go there and he must have sensed it and clawed at the windows in my car to get out when we reach the party night he had a full-blown panic attack so I just turned around and went home and he was fine. Fast forward to recently, he began going to a new doggy daycare in the same city which is already 10 times more professional for a similar price. After his first day, The workers asked me to have a chat when I picked him up and they wondered if you'd ever been abused or kenneled for long periods of time...We have never kenneled him because he's a good boy. The sense based on his behavior when they went near the kennels for naptime in his extreme apprehension and sudden change and moon that he showed signs of being traumatized in a kennel or left and one for long periods of time. Honestly that would explain exactly what was going on when I dropped him off at playtime doggy day care. Never in any photos, so where was he? I know he's an energetic dog so I can only think maybe the workers got sick of him and would lock him up for the day. Maybe that's why he always smelled like urine too. He is thriving at his new doggy daycare and they are working on ways to help him feel more comfortable around the kennel when he goes in there for naptime and eating. Although I do not have concrete evidence of what might have happened to my dog up at Playtime- His apprehension and behavior or whenever I went to go drop him off tells me more than I need to know. Be careful of your dog is showing these signs when getting dropped off, or if his behavior is changing after. read more

I love this place. When I get to the parking lot my lab starts jumping around in the car. It's a race to the door. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My pup comes home tired and happy. The staff at Playtime take care of my pup at least two days a week. They know her and me by name when we walk in - and they care for my peanut the same as I would. They have a great personal touch and make sure you are aware of anything that happened during the day, including when your dog played REALLY hard. Which makes me feel that the value of a day at daycare for my pup is priceless. When I exit the freeway my pup knows where we are going and can't wait to get there. She is obviously loved by all when we walk in. They've been compassionate and caring for my pups - uber sensitive stomach and health issues (kidney problems) since she was 5 months old. The staff has helped me through tough times with her, their knowledge and expertise has been comforting in a time of unknown outcomes. They truly love what they do and are great with all the dogs and have a clean and spacious play area- indoor and out. Took our dog to Playtime for the first (and last) time in April 2013 because our regular place was booked. She was there five days. When I came to pick her up, she smelled absolutely terrible (even though she had supposedly been given a bath), seemed lethargic and scared, and worst of all, was sick. She had diarrhea and had an accident on our carpet during the night. I will never take my dog back to Playtime. She has been to Animal Campus in Franklin many times and never once came back to us smelly, traumatized and sick. read more

Was here for a "meet up" with my dog group. I was appalled at how dirty and smelly this place was. The lobby is tidy and neat as a pin but be sure to ask to see the play area. There was dog hair EVERYWHERE! Tumbleweeds of it. The poop pail obviously hadn't been emptied for days and I almost passed out when I opened it. I don't think the water was changed in the mop bucket for days either. Please do a complete inspection of this place before you sign your dog up.
