When it was -9 and my Sheepdog was going nuts but it was too cold for her to be outside, I started to research if there were any indoor dog parks and I found Hounds + Tap. For $10 a day (per pup) you can bring your pooch here and enjoy the company. There are a few options for exercise here: two indoor play areas (they call it a small dog area and a large dog area, but the only times I have seen the second one operational is for dog birthday parties... yes it's a thing). I will say that the indoor space is small and gets overcrowded quickly, but it's a nice option. Outside there is a large area with play structures (for the hounds!) and turf for them to run on. They have poop bags and scrub brushes to use if there is a poo on the turf. They have staff outside to monitor behavior and they're quick to get involved with the unlikely scuffle between pups. There are several picnic tables for the people and a garage door that opens to... A FULL BAR! The bar is stocked with a TON of options, and there is almost always an awesome food truck to get noms. Leah, the owner, is involved with the community as well. For example, during March, Women's History Month, proceeds from certain drink brands are donating money to Sojourner (if you're unfamiliar with the organization, they're incredible), and they are hosting pictures with the Easter Bunny for pups all 100% of proceeds go to the cause. They are consistently hosting events like trivia, sports games, photo ops, etc. I go here every Sunday and love it! read more

After a Sunday drive, we came across Hounds & Tap on the way home and stopped to wet our whistle. We were surprised to find out that this place is not only a tavern, but primarily a doggy daycare, grooming and boarding location. And get this: the tavern has a large outside (and inside) dog park. Well, we love dogs and cats (more than most people, except Yelp folks, of course, LOL!), and really enjoyed our visit here. We were greeted by and spoke to Jeff, the owner, who was such a friendly, informative and interesting guy. He made us feel very welcome and told us that a lot of folks, just like us, come to the location for a drink without a dog and, like us, enjoy the company of the others' dogs. We noticed that the outside patio "park" area was full of dogs and folks today, all enjoying the great weather today (5/22/22); tails a-waggin' and smiles on owners' and non-owners' faces. I take both the pups here for grooming services. They do a great job. And I finally got to experience the bar area- it didn't disappoint. A great way to exercise your dog AND have an adult beverage. There is even a dog chaperone provided to make sure all is well. read more

Heard about this place for quite some time and thought I'd check it out with a friend. Not my cup of tea as there was a lot of aggressive behavior with the dogs. The drinks out of a can? Are very expensive at $10 plus tip came to $13 which didn't even taste like what I ordered. Mai Tai it's supposed to be rum based, and even the color was off as Carmel when it's supposed to be bright red orange. The food truck was pretty good with sliders of different varieties. The staff is very friendly and attentive with the animals. When there was too much aggression dogs were separated which was welcoming. But there was one dog that was totally missed behaving and jumping on tables. Does not make me want to sit at a table that's been stepped on and drooled upon repeatedly. read more

This place is awesome. Outrageously well run by outrageously nice people. Register online so they know your shots are up to date. Your dog's too. ;-) Head through one of the safety gates, throw a ball, give your pet some treats, hang and chat. Tons of fun. Super clean. Rotating, excellent food carts, and an employee(s) keeping an eye that the pets are all interacting OK. Everyone is nice, and the employees are very professional. And live music at times! My friends and I took our dogs for a fun Saturday afternoon play date to the Hounds & Tap. It was a fun and friendly place for both humans and dogs. They have a selection of beers and seltzer for purchase and plenty of fresh water for the dogs. It was fun to let the dogs run around and play, with some extra supervision from the staff. There are a few obstacles and wading pools for the dogs to enjoy. Can get crowded when the weather is nice though. read more

The Hounds & Tap is nothing short of amazing! Every single person who works there is extremely kind and caring to both humans and dogs! They are friendly and accommodating. The facilities are very nice and we love being able to put our dog in a "suite style" place for boarding. I don't say this often but I think it is very reasonably priced based on all the high quality service and facilities you receive. We have used daycare and boarding for our dog, Maisey. She was a rescue dog who had gotten used to the good life at our home so I always feel guilty and worried when we need to board her. However, The Hounds & Tap has made it much easier. We receive personalized updates via email and love checking out the photos. She always returns happy and worn out (in the best way). We truly appreciate everything and everyone at The Hounds & Tap! Not only is the facility absolutely beautiful, the people who work here are even better. I have complete peace of mind when I drop off my little guy for daycare. He runs in without looking back, and comes out SO happy. They keep such a close eye on each dog, they are thorough in their operations, and they genuinely love these doggies - you can tell. They even do little art projects with the dogs for the holidays and send you home with them! They are all up on my fridge lol. Online booking is so easy and uploading your dogs vet records is a breeze. Not to mention, the tap/outdoor area is SO fun for the people and the food trucks are such a cool addition. We traveled an hour to get here yesterday and it was so worth the drive. Everyone was so welcoming and the owner is wonderful. Our dogs had a great time. There were 2-3 young ladies running the show outside. They socialized with both dogs and people, supervised when necessary and made every dog there feel special. We gave the boys a warm bath, everything provided, on a raised height tub (which is so much easier on the back). Now they're soft and clean and slept like babies. Although this is an awesome concept, it's like taking your child to chuckie cheese and telling them not to hoot and holler in the name of fun. One or two barks and that's it - they DO NOT tolerate it. Due to the huge residential area across from the establishment they do not allow barking what-so-ever. My dog loves to play and bark for fun, which she did until I heard the boss over one of the worker's walkie-talkies telling them to "Quiet that dog." Not sure how to feel about this place - dogs bark....should've picked an area to build this type of attraction in the middle of a farm field if barking is not tolerated, even at a minimum. read more

I love this place just as much as my dog does! The staff are incredible and very knowledgeable on dog behavior. I feel super safe knowing they're helping us watch the dogs and making sure they're playing nice. It's very easy to register your dog and upload their vaccinations on their website before visiting as well! They have great options for us at the bar.
