After having our previous petsitter hike their rates up beyond what we could comfortably pay, we reached out to Jessica for help and she was nothing short of amazing. She was able to handle our often unfriendly chihuahua without problem and we could tell she really cared for our animals. As a veterinarian, I have pretty high standards for animal care. Our pets are family and we are always nervous trusting a new person to take care of them when we can't be there. Jessica isn't the type of person to send a text or email each time she visits, but was happy to give updates when asked and responded promptly to messages. When we got back home, I found a stack of progress notes with sweet tidbits about the pets for each visit. We are so happy we found her and would recommend her 100%!

In the past, we used a local kennel, and each time we did, Angel was a nervous wreck when we picked her up. She was just miserable! This time we didn't want to do that to her, so the hunt was on for an alternative. Thanks to social media, I was already familiar with Jessica, the owner of Wags and Whiskers, due to me following her company on twitter quite some time ago. I have read her tweets, and read her great blog, and even purchased a toy she recommended for Angel that ended up being one of Angel's favorites! So, I decided to contact her and see if she was up for the task. I emailed her what I needed done, and she replied almost immediately with the answers to my questions! This was a great sign! Jessica requested that she come over and meet Angel to be sure Angel was comfortable with her, so we set a date a time. Jessica arrived promptly with a staff member and I could tell immediately she was passionate about her job. Angel and her got along great! We chatted about the details of when to feed etc, and I just knew Angel would be in good hands. When we returned from our trip, we were greeted by a happy dog! No nervousness or sickness like when she was at the kennels! On the counter we found notes that shared the things Jessica and Angel did during her visits...this was great!!! It was nice to know that Angel had a buddy while we were gone! If you are looking for someone who will come to your home while you are gone, and take care of your pets, I wholeheartedly recommend Wags and Whiskers for the job!!

They always exceed my expectations and impress me with their professionalism, support and expertise. My dogs love their sitter Britni, who is such a kind and caring person. Britni always sends me updates with photos every single time she's with my dogs. Barking Life's customer service is the highest I have ever come across in pet care. I will never use anyone else. Thank you so much Barking Life Pet Concierge!

Unfortunately, my experience with Barking Life was VERY DISAPPOINTING…read more The day before an important trip, I contacted Barking Life for care for my two dogs. They quickly matched me with a sitter, and I paid over $250 upfront, completed all paperwork, and scheduled a meet-and-greet. The sitter spent about 1.5 hours with me, interacted well with my dogs, discussed their routines in detail, referenced future visits, and left with my apartment key and parking permit. At no point did she express any concerns. About an hour after she left, I received a call stating that the meet-and-greet "didn't go well" and that the booking was canceled. This was completely unexpected based on our interaction. What made the situation even more concerning was that the company initially seemed unaware that the sitter still had my apartment key and parking permit. Thankfully, another staff member personally retrieved and returned them more than two hours after the sitter had left with my belongings. To make matters worse, the cancellation occurred less than 12 hours before my trip, leaving me scrambling to find alternative care for my pets. Also, reunds typically take 7-10 business days to process for a service that was never provided. My issue is not that a sitter has the right to decline a booking. My issue is with the process. I would strongly recommend requiring a meet-and-greet before collecting full payment, or charging a small consultation fee until both parties agree to move forward. This would prevent customers from paying hundreds of dollars upfront only to have services canceled at the last minute. I also believe there should be clearer expectations regarding booking commitments. While emergencies, illness, or family matters are understandable reasons for canceling, none of those reasons were communicated in this situation. Customers should be able to rely on a booking once it has been accepted. Any concerns that may prevent a sitter from completing a service should be identified before payment is collected and final arrangements are made. Finally, I would encourage the company to be more cautious when accepting last-minute bookings. A cancellation less than 12 hours before departure can place customers in an extremely difficult position, especially after they have been encouraged to move forward with pet sitting instead of alternative arrangements. While I appreciate the employee who personally returned my belongings, the overall experience left me feeling unsupported during a time-sensitive situation when reliability mattered most.

Trigger (our australian shepard/blue heeler mix puppy ) came with no training, and a fear aggression to new people and other dogs. Per our request, not only did Bryce train our dog to full obedience, but he also brought in his dogs (super well trained, to an impressive competition level) to help Trigger learn how to greet new dogs. We spent six weeks learning sit, lay down, climb (an awesome, rare obedience technique of stay), loose-leash walking, heel, sit and lay down while in a heel command, leave it, down, and free (another awesome command). He taught Trigger these steps, but also worked with my husband and I to help us understand why trigger was acting out, or how he understands each command. We also spent a whole session in a public setting, getting iur ouppy used to greeting new people, and teaching us how to handle him in a doog park and in a new environment. We couldn't be happier with our transformed puppy! Bryce and Angie came to our place to work with Trigger in our own environment, and that in and of itself sold us! These two are the real deal, having trained for six months to a professional level, and they were worth every single penny! Our only regret? Not calling them sooner!
