I called the store asking for advice about a replacement for my built-in convection oven/microwave that stopped working. My goal was to upgrade my old appliance for something better. I just needed to know what my options were and what would fit in the space. Donna answered the phone and she was not feeling very friendly or helpful. I don't think she even wanted to be at work that day. I told her what I was looking for and she said that she would have to do some research in order to give me some options. She told me she would call me back and hung up. After getting very frustrated with Lowe's and Home Depot, because they both failed to deliver the washer and dryer's that I purchased from them. Dianne Joseph helped me with the final purchase. She was equally helpful & wonderful to work with & the whole experience was perfect including the installation. My experience with Plaza appliance could not have been worse. I purchased a Jenn Aire stove and Fridge, a Hood and a beverage cooler. I bought all of these items at the beginning of July and informed Jeff the manager at the Monroe store that we were building a kitchen and needed the items by mid September. He assured me that would not be an issue and the accepted our payment of over 25,000 dollars. The beverage cooler was in stock and everything else needed to be ordered but agin we were assured no issues. Mid August they call to let us know our stove is in and hood is on track. They did let us know the fridge would be at the end of September. We call to have stove and hood delivered mid September and we were informed they did not have the stove or the hood. When we asked why would they call to let us know the stove was here when it was not......the answers were very defensive and vague and it appeared they had sold our stove to someone else. After some discussion and involvement of some higher ups they found a floor model for which they gave us 10% off. As to the hood they could not give a date and were unsure of the delay. We just bought a hood elsewhere. It was at that time the owner Mr. Pleasants and Kathy the GM were involved and helped with the stove. Shortly thereafter they said the Fridge would be delivered at the end of October. Fast forward beginning of November we ask about status the Jeff and Kathy. Jeff emails us 8 more weeks , then says disregard that was for a different order and did not provide a date or respond to an email asking when it actually would be. Finally got Kathy to call me after not getting back to my wife for almost a week and said end of December but likely January. She told me these issues are across the industry and are effecting almost every product. She also said he has been dealing with same issues all day everyday. When I asked if you and your staff are aware of these deLays and the dates given by the manufacturers are BS why don't you let your customers know that so as not to set a false expectation? The explanation was poor and it made me realize that the sales people and Plaza would rather have your money and give you bad information on the upfront and deal with the issues on the back end than being truthful to their customers. My cabinets are in and are designed to fit that fridge if that was not the case I would cancel. Please know if you are placing an order with Plaza they have no clue when they will be getting product but will assure you that it will come by the date they are given by the manufacturer even though they know their manufacturers have not been on time for a while. I Amin manufacturing my self and I have had to adjust and I get there can be issues. The difference is I am upfront with my customers and proactive should issues arise. According to Kathy there are so many of these issues she has not gotten back to some people in three weeks. Just know if you shop plaza they will tell you what it takes o get the sale knowing full well the date they give you will be w Update......even after this it was delayed beyond went to AJ Madison got a fridge in a week. From the moment I walked through the door....she told me the reason I should do business with Plaza Appliance was because of their impeccable customer service and price match program. I decided to test her word. I went to every appliance place in town.....found my lowest prices.... and returned. She matched every price I found. I purchased just over $4,000 in appliances and Tami was super helpful the entire process. We touched base and made contact through email and phone several times. She even dug up PDF files of operational manuals and sent them to me. (HUGE TIMESAVER) We did have a slight snag toward the end of the process that neither of us expected. I worked closely with Tami to resolve this issue. She was able to talk to management for me and worked out a satisfactory solution. I must say that I am extremely happy with my purchase, the selection, the customer service, salesperson knowledge, and the fact that Tami went over and beyond the call of duty to make it a pleasant experience. In closing, I even received an unexpected hand written "Thank You" card. You probably wouldn't get that anywhere else. Horrible experience, I bought all new appliances at the Matthews location and then it was escalated to the sales manager here at the Monroe location. Hence why I'm posting to this location as well. understand the supply delays outside of Plaza's control and that's not why I'm posting this. It's the complete lack of communication on the delays that was just awful. Ordered appliances in February and received no update unless I contacted them. After 8 months and no oven and weeks of me contacting them and getting different information each time I was finally told it would be another 6 months! To top it off the wrong hood was delivered and it was dented. I escalated it to a sales manager who I haven't heard back from for a week now even after acknowledging the issues I've dealt with and promising to fix this. Very frustrating experience!! Once a repeat customer, but not anymore. My family bought from them for years as well and I relayed my story and they will not go back. I went to Plaza to purchase a dishwasher. I requested a couple brands I wanted to purchase and salesguy kept trying to sell me the one brand I said I did not want. He went to look at inventory and said he had one dishwasher in stock that would match what I was looking for. I agreed and purchased. It was to be installed in 2 days with the 30 minute call ahead. On installation day I never received a call. Finally I called late afternoon and was told that the dishwasher they did not even have in the back warehouse, that I was told wrong, that the installation order was put in- but no dishwasher. And instructed me he was just a dispatcher and I would need to call salesguy that sold it to me. So I call him leave a message. He calls back to say sorry but they didnt have that one, but I could get one late September. Or take the one brand they had I did not want to start with. Those were my 2 options. I declined and said I'll have to figure out something else. He refunded my money. Needless to say I will not go back. I thought it was unprofessional and poor customer service that I first had to call to see where was the installer at and when calling told they didnt have it. To me seems they need help that knows what they are doing. So I went and found one at a major chain!! Should have went there to start with. Lesson learned. read more

The absolute worst I have ever dealt with. Purchased a commercial grade cooktop from this company and overpaid slightly with the belief they would deliver on time and "do it right". I was completely wrong. Cooktop was installed a week ago and the installer was the worst. He over-cut my countertop creating a small hole, installed a cooktop with a non-functioning blower which he acknowledged and on top of it all, a cooking grate on top of the cooktop is cracked all the way through. The pure negligence and lack of accountability within this organization is befuddling. I am sure they will not last long in a commodity market. I highly suggest you purchase online and find your own installers or do it yourself. Anything is better than the installer that they utilize for appliance installations. Additionally, management needs to learn how to return phone calls. read more

My experience with Plaza Appliance Mart has been absolutely horrific. Our brand new $2,500 Whirpool refrigerator was delivered with a broken drawer. While that wouldn't be typically be an issue (most stores would very quickly replace said broken drawer) dealing with PAM has been an absolute nightmare. They sent someone out to repair said drawer after 2 weeks (at that point we were just thankful anyone had shown up). The repairman did not fix the drawer. He brought the wrong size drawer, jury rigged it into our fridge, and then told my wife it was fixed. When I got home and realized this I called PAM to have them send someone back out to fix what hadn't been fixed(it literally falls off the rails). This was 5 weeks ago! After more than 5 weeks of calling and leaving messages to speak with either our sales person or the manager we still haven't received a call back. Each time I asked to speak with a manager and have my issue resolved I was told by the rather rude call center woman that the manager was either 1. At lunch (this at 10:30am, and 3pm on back to back weeks) 2. left to go home early 3. in meetings all day 4. Not in the store and they didn't know why 5. or just plain not available via phone and I should leave a message. The lady today just hung up on me after I said I would happily wait on the line for the manager to return (I didn't not swear or call names, I merely asked her to please stop jerking me around and connect me with a manager) I called back to consecutive blow-offs before leaving another message. This is my first negative review of any business. I hate having to do it. But I'm hoping that PAM is better at responding online than they have been over the phone. I'm hoping that someone will actually reach out and deal with my issue. I'm hoping that I could actually get a new drawer. But based on what I've seen experienced so far, I'm not expecting it. 11/19/2020 Update I received a response from PAM the same day I posted the initial review both online and via a phone call. I was told that the 3rd party vendor that fixes these issues would contact me and ensure this was taken care of. It's now 3 weeks later and I still don't have a drawer, nor any information about when I might get one. read more

Do not recommend! They installed a broken dishwasher, then wanted me to wait 3 weeks for GE to fix it. After 2 phone calls and much compaining, they removed it and gave me a refund. BUT they removed plumbing that should have been left. When I ordered another dishwasher from Home Depot, they could not install it, and I had to hire a plumber! I bought a floor mode fridge for $10,000, and when they delivered it the driver complained about how much he hated his job and told me 3 different excuses as to why they couldn't install it. Despite innumerable calls and emails requesting a return for this repair they refused to do so. The installer also disconnected my warming drawer and the owner refused to return to reconnect. Recently purchased all new Kitchen appliances from Plaza. They matched the best price I could find at a competitor. Set a deliver date and called that morning to let me know they were on the way. They delivered on time and where in and out in no time. We changed the size of our wall mount ovens and their installer quickly re-sized the area with out any issues. WE had one issue in that the in cabinet Microwave was too big for our space. since we could not change the space, they packed up the microwave and got another one order the same day. it was delivered and installed within a week. When they found a small ding on the refrigerator that occurred in Transit. they immediately brought it to my attention. order a whole new door and the following Monday it was installed and ready to go. They were quick, efficient and so pleasant to work with throughout the whole process. I would definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone needing new appliances. read more

I just recently bought a washer and dryer and these guys made it so easy! I wanted in, asked for the specific brand I wanted (speed queen), was taken directly to them and given a great deal of information on all the washers and dryers. We quickly then did the paper work and set up delivery. The delivery went so well! I was given the 30 min courtesy call. The delivery guys arrived in those 30 minutes. The delivery was quick, efficient, and painless. They checked to confirm all was working and went about their way! I would really recommend these guys!!! read more

I would never buy an appliance from Plaza again. I purchased a new Bosch dishwasher from Daniel on Monroe Rd. I told him I had to have it last week as I was leaving on Dec. 15th for a two week trip for Christmas. They delivered the dishwasher on Dec. 6th at 5:30 PM and brought the wrong part and could not install it. At the time they disconnected my dishwasher so I could not use it all weekend. They promised to come back today Monday but did not. Tomorrow is zero hour before I leave and I am not sure they will come. I will stick with Home Depot in the future and recommend you stay away from Plaza unless you like stress and poor customer service. read more

The folks at Plaza are throwbacks to a time when sales staff did what they promised to do and understood customer service. I placed an order for kitchen appliances in September. Everything was a rush because the contractor needed everything immediately. Jeff and his team took care of it. Everything was delivered to Plaza's warehouse, and then the contractor stalled. I was on the phone almost every week with Jeff and his team as the delays piled up. They were always incredibly pleasant and helpful. We finally fired the contractor and hired another one. That caused a four month delay. Jeff and his team never once pressured me to get those appliances out of their warehouse. In fact, they worked with the new contractor to resolve the multiple problems that arose when it was discovered that the old contractor had not provided correct size information. Every time I spoke with Jeff about a problem, he'd tell me he'd take care of it - and he did. There was no need for follow-up emails or phone calls. The new contractor was very skeptical when I told him that it wasn't necessary to leave multiple voice mails as all the folks at Plaza returned calls ASAP. He's a believer now. He is amazed by how great the team is at Plaza. read more

In 2017 we purchased a $1500 Whirlpool fridge with extended warranty. It did not last 20 months and the warranty company would not return calls. When we contacted Plaza Appliance Mart they said that the warranty company was known to do this in an attempt to get people to go elsewhere or time out on their warranty. Plaza Appliance Mart eventually agreed to apply the cost of that unit to another. We upgraded, purchased a Kitchenaid (in part because they now admitted the Whirlpool was known to have problems-so why did they carry it?!), and paid a few hundred dollars more in Nov. 2019. It is now Nov. 2020 and that 2nd fridge is dead. The extended warranty company won't do anything because we are just under 1 year. Kitchenaid is closed and you can't schedule a service call until 7 days out, 2 days after Thanksgiving. When I spoke to a Plaza Appliance Mart rep to explain we really can't go that long w/o a fridge because we need to refrigerate insulin (and there is also the less pressing matter of Thanksgiving in 5 days), he offered to sell me a third fridge! Seriously, the last 2 we bought from you didn't last. Won't be buying another from you given that your $1500+ fridges work for around 12-24 months. We are not on a fridge a year purchasing schedule. read more

My wife phoned talked to an employee who got a bit snippy turned her over to the mgr who said maybe they changed the date they sub the work out. Had I know that I wouldn't have done business with them. Plus after the purchase as I was walking out my impression of the store was it was a total mess. from front to back. The appliances weren't displayed well the lighting was horrible and the sales counter looked like a rats nest. I had to replace my dishwasher recently and I immediately called Bill Pleasants Jr. They did an excellent job equipping my new office kitchen several years ago, and I remembered the excellent customer service. I was not disappointed when Bill listened to my needs and recommended a floor model that was available. He also explained to me why I was not able to put the existing front cabinet panel back on this new unit. Then he surprised me by informing that they can come out to install it the next day!! I thought that by going to a company that only sells appliances, my experience would be a pleasant one. Absolutely the most frustrating experience I have ever had. Purchased 3 appliances from them and experienced issues with all 3. Missed delivery dates twice for 2 appliances, the one that was delivered arrived damaged and was installed wrong. I attempted to express my dissatisfaction and point out areas that need improvement only to find out that there is no such means to share bad experiences in hopes of improving customer experience. Will Pleasants at Plaza Appliance worked with me over the course of 9 months to make sure I was getting the best value for my money and budget. In this market, there are superstores that don't offer personalized service, and then there is Plaza. My experience with Will was nothing short of amazing, and it shows in my kitchen.
