It's adjacent to a beautiful church, waterfalls, and all sorts of other scenic areas. There is a parking lot located diagonally across the street from it where you can leave your vehicle. The walk through the tunnel was awesome, you can hear echo. The tunnel was like 100ft. Behind the tunnel, there is a small path you go through the woods. There were many iguanas, so just be careful. At the entrance, there was a little swing for kids, several murals. You can also take a pony ride (check for hours on their facebook page or call them). I posted a picture with their contact info. Also, if you are driving here, you should also make a quick visit to the Cara de Indiano. It is on the next exit.

I enjoyed exploring the fort and taking in the scenery from the massive stone walls. Admission is reasonably priced at $10 per adult and includes access to both Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo San Cristóbal for 24 hours, making it a great value if you plan to visit both forts. One of the things I found most interesting is how much there is to explore throughout El Morro's different levels. The iconic garitas (sentry boxes) offer some of the best views and are a symbol of PR. The main plaza gives a glimpse into daily life inside the fort, while the lighthouse continues to guide ships into the harbor today. The Santa Bárbara Battery sits right at water level, where cannons once defended San Juan Bay, and the floating staircase connects the fort's levels. I ended up buying a few hot sauces from the gift shop before leaving. My biggest recommendation is to start your day early if you want to see both castles the same day because they close a bit early. There's far more to explore than you might expect, and having access to both forts makes for a full day of adventure history, views, and plenty of walking.

This is a wonderful area right outside the Port of San Juan. Its a great place for a stroll in the…read morearea and off the ship. Small vendors are located in the area selling all kinds of items including jewelry and souvenirs. The area also have some places to take pictures including a large sign that says I Love Puerto Rico (I heart Puerto Rico) and another sign with Boricua! on it. Probably the nicest area outside a Port I saw on my Carnival Cruise to Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Saint Thomas.

My grandmother last name was Maldonado and I was feeling overwhelmed, and the Maldonado name of the hacienda is a coincidence, I don't think we are related.
