I just moved to Florida, and Mexican food is my FAVORITE cuisine... So almost immediately I looked for a restaurant in my area that served this type of ACP. (The type with loads of carbs AND loads of cheese, because carbs and cheese are LIFE.) Unfortunately, I was unable to find any restaurants in my immediate area, but we did find Plaza Mexico which is about a half hour drive from our house. I was so stoked that they were allowing dine in, and that they were open fairly late. We got there around 7pm on a weekday, and they didn't seem too busy... But the service was pretty slow, and the prices are a tad bit steep. However, I can NOT complain about the food! The food was very well seasoned, and the queso dip was super buttery, creamy and cheesy all at the same time. Just like your typical mexican restaurant, free chips and salsa are served as a starter. The menu has pretty much everything you can think of, except, we didn't see any dessert, so if it's served it may be on a different menu. We weren't given a drink menu, but they do have a full bar. We had a pretty decent experience, and I chalk the slow service up to our food probably being made to order instead of just heated up quickly (Since it tastes so fresh.) We will definitely be eating here again!

We weren't even given plates to eat on!

This place used to be one of my FAVORITE places to get the pastor tacos. However it's under a new name since this business was bought out called "El Patio". The food was okay but pales into comparison of the old. You can see the other older reviews claiming this place was amazing and they are right. It's honestly a shame to seen such a good restaurant "Under New Management" ruined

After spending a ridiculous amount of time in I4 traffic we noticed a sign for Parklands farmers market around Plant City. That caught our attention and we took a detour. When We pulled in to Parkland's, we noticed the Mexico plaza across the street. And we were hungry. Plaza combines a Spanish market two outside food stand and a sit down Mexican restaurant in the back. The gem we discovered was the Salvadoran stand right out front. Their specialty was papusas and Salvadoran tamales. The Salvadoran tomorrow it was different than any other we have eaten in the past, the masa was light and fluffy wrapped inside a banana leaf and filled with a few vegetables along with a whole chicken leg. It was absolutely scrumptious, but I mention the chicken leg as a warning so you know not to pick it up and bite into it. The Papusa was incredibly light filled with creamy beans and served with a slaw on the side which you can use as a topping. It is run by a husband-and-wife who are both very sweet. We did not try the barbecue window or the restaurant in the back but from now on if I am heading towards Tampa I will definitely make a detour. Now I am on the hunt for Salvadoran food in Orlando

Hmmm well this is a locals spot. Very quaint but cheap. I wish it were a bit cleaner but might be understandable seeing the cashier is also the table buster. Sooo we stopped in after our visit to parks-dale right across the street thinking we were up for some authentic Mexican tacos. The tortillas were homemade and had a good texture but the steak filling was tasteless. The Margherita was huge and tasty but lacked a few pours of alcohol. This place kinda feels like a spot you'd stumble upon if lost in the desert on foot and you were really hungry and it was the only place to eat. The inside seems a bit makeshift but functional and they even play the Mexican tv channel. Going into the restaurant kinda feels like some secret club since you have to walk to the back of the grocery store to get there. The food was served On a styrofoam plate, simple but sufficient.

The "world famous" strawberry milkshakes live up to the hype and are well worth any wait in line. I love how creamy they are and the fact that they include chunks of strawberries. Don't sleep on just a plain bowl of strawberries with whipped cream either. I normally find myself wanting more strawberries after a milkshake, and the bowl of strawberries is the perfect compliment. As for the lines, they can be pretty long. But they do a really good job at making the lines move quickly. The prices are also very reasonable. The market also has all sorts of fresh veggies, fruits, and strawberry related items, like jams, breads, and even cookies!

I was driving from Tampa to Orlando in August and saw a bunch of signs for the "world famous" strawberry shortcake but couldn't get any :( there should really be a sign that details when the shortcake is available if it isn't going to be available year round but those signs are. It was pretty disappointing not being able to have it. I opted to get a strawberry bread (apparently it's always season for that) when I was there and it was really good! I wasn't quite in the mood for a milkshake, but the milkshakes are supposedly good here as well. Besides the strawberry treats, there is a whole store inside with a variety of jams, hot sauces, and merchandise as well as fresh fruit and veggies for sale. The seating area is really adorable (you can see it in the picture I posted). I guess I'll just have to come back during shortcake season to let you know if it's worth the "world famous" title.

Its crazy how we just got there around 10:45ish? N immidietly they started packing! I seriously missed outa some good bargains. More on their loss, cuz we buy n help local shops hard! We found so much good things on the first building on the left if u look at our map near my car location. I cant judge the rest of the vendors but i plan on coming back since they open daily ish. Heres the bad: A lot of prepackaged food products under the sun without covering. Stay away from that. Melted vitamins n candies. No fda approval anywhere. So many vendors buy from good will or any drift stores, don't even remove the tags. For example. Guy bought poor looking cups at $1.98 n tried to up price it at $20. I ell him he bought for $1.98 and they weren't even polished just heavy damaged. No price negotiations i left it. (Important notes: i know the value of metals in the current economy, the value of items n got a phone on hand to do research on the spot to come into a fair price. I do not support gaugers) A lot of products on the mud! Holy crap! It's crazy how much clothes n toys on the. Mud! Place is hella huge! Just a fyi, bring a buddy. FREEE PARKING. And to end this, place isn't for fancy types. I grew up with these types of markets n i love adventure! So i blend in just fine. Next time im coming full camo n no cute dresses or shoes lol and a cane! My legs kept getting really tired counter balancing the uneven floor. Its a 4/5 for me but ill update after i come back n hit it full with proper gear and backup plan.
