We decided to come here after our visit Parkesdale Market. It was a little confusing at first, but once you decide what to order, you go inside the store and pay there. Everything we tried was freshly made , tacos tripa , are my fav , carne torta very nice and soft , the pineapple fresh waters and Jamaica very tasty! the tamales from Salvador very home made flavor we got chicken soft like butter very traditionally served . The pupusas are delicious warm soft frijoles filled outstanding customer service friendly and fast serving loved the outdoor tables , nice patio and picnic tables , also umbrellas for sunny days , it's a locals favorite, you can see the place full of locals eating . At first this place is a confusing maze as there are several different food windows and restaurants on site. We walked down the sidewalk to a back window and ordered several steak tacos with cheese. We had to go into the store portion to pay, but everyone was friendly and helpful. There was even some good laughter at my attempt to speak Spanish. The tacos were delicious, although a little dry until you add the green salsa and squeeze the fresh lime on them. I would recommend trying this place out. read more

Directly across the street from Parkesdale Farm Market. A bit pricey since you can get good authentic tacos for under $1.50 elsewhere. In my opinion the food was OK but still really good. Our favorite take aways was the orchata which we never had before and the piña colada was the way a piña coladas should taste. Fresh, milky and pineapple flavor, not watery and full of ice. We'll definitely return if even in the area again. Sitting inside the little hut gets very hot, I can only imagine it during the summer. They also sell Papusas which will definitely try when back. This was our first time here. It's directly across the street fro Parkesdale Farms. My wife ordered 2 BBQ tacos and I ordered 2 Steak tacos and we shared. They came with onions and cilantro and we asked for hot sauces. They brought out a red and green sauce. Red sauce had a good kick! We also ordered a side of Pinto Beans. The beans were okay. We had to send them back to be reheated. We really enjoyed the tacos. I preferred my regular Steak tacos over the BBQ ones. I think my wife's preferred her BBQ tacos. I just moved to Florida, and Mexican food is my FAVORITE cuisine... So almost immediately I looked for a restaurant in my area that served this type of ACP. (The type with loads of carbs AND loads of cheese, because carbs and cheese are LIFE.) Unfortunately, I was unable to find any restaurants in my immediate area, but we did find Plaza Mexico which is about a half hour drive from our house. I was so stoked that they were allowing dine in, and that they were open fairly late. We got there around 7pm on a weekday, and they didn't seem too busy... But the service was pretty slow, and the prices are a tad bit steep. However, I can NOT complain about the food! The food was very well seasoned, and the queso dip was super buttery, creamy and cheesy all at the same time. Just like your typical mexican restaurant, free chips and salsa are served as a starter. The menu has pretty much everything you can think of, except, we didn't see any dessert, so if it's served it may be on a different menu. We weren't given a drink menu, but they do have a full bar. We had a pretty decent experience, and I chalk the slow service up to our food probably being made to order instead of just heated up quickly (Since it tastes so fresh.) After spending a ridiculous amount of time in I4 traffic we noticed a sign for Parklands farmers market around Plant City. That caught our attention and we took a detour. When We pulled in to Parkland's, we noticed the Mexico plaza across the street. And we were hungry. Plaza combines a Spanish market two outside food stand and a sit down Mexican restaurant in the back. The gem we discovered was the Salvadoran stand right out front. Their specialty was papusas and Salvadoran tamales. The Salvadoran tomorrow it was different than any other we have eaten in the past, the masa was light and fluffy wrapped inside a banana leaf and filled with a few vegetables along with a whole chicken leg. It was absolutely scrumptious, but I mention the chicken leg as a warning so you know not to pick it up and bite into it. The Papusa was incredibly light filled with creamy beans and served with a slaw on the side which you can use as a topping. It is run by a husband-and-wife who are both very sweet. We did not try the barbecue window or the restaurant in the back but from now on if I am heading towards Tampa I will definitely make a detour. Hmmm well this is a locals spot. Very quaint but cheap. I wish it were a bit cleaner but might be understandable seeing the cashier is also the table buster. Sooo we stopped in after our visit to parks-dale right across the street thinking we were up for some authentic Mexican tacos. The tortillas were homemade and had a good texture but the steak filling was tasteless. The Margherita was huge and tasty but lacked a few pours of alcohol. This place kinda feels like a spot you'd stumble upon if lost in the desert on foot and you were really hungry and it was the only place to eat. The inside seems a bit makeshift but functional and they even play the Mexican tv channel. Going into the restaurant kinda feels like some secret club since you have to walk to the back of the grocery store to get there. The food was served On a styrofoam plate, simple but sufficient. read more

Oh my word!!! This restaurant is absolutely amazing. It looks dumpy on the outside and it looks dumpy on the inside but the food is authentic Mexican food. We started with homemade tortilla chips, salsa, and guacamole. When I tell you they were homemade, they were. I don't normally eat guacamole, this guacamole had chunks of avocado, chunks of tomatoes and onions and lemon juice. It was out of this world and so was the homemade salsa. I had the cheese quesadilla with refried beans on the side and sour cream, delicious. The other two in my group had the Chalupa which came with rice and beans. Someone also ordered a chicken taco which by the way is only $1.50. We all drank water with our meal so the bill is always a bit cheaper. We couldn't even come close to finishing our meal so we boxed it to go. Our total meal came out to $24.30 (3 ppl). It should be noted that half the food is served on a Styrofoam plate and the eating utensils are mixed matched. It's not the best looking restaurant but I can't say enough good things about the food. Please, if you are across the street at Parksdale farms you need to stop here after you do your shopping. read more

HOLY CRAP!! Everything we got from here was AMAZING. My wife and I got 3 tacos - 2 carnitas, 1 al pastor, an al pastor quesadilla with beans and rice, chips with salsa and guac, a Modelo Especial, and a Tequila Sunrise. $30 flat. Everything was homemade and delicious, the service was prompt and gracious, and our server refilled our chips before we left(we munched while waiting on the rest of our food to go). If I could give them more stars, I would. They're 5 minutes from my house, and they'll DEFINITELY see me again. You'll see a lot of Spanish signage, but they have English menus and English-speaking staff to accommodate all diners. Eat and enjoy! read more
