Had a really good experience here, this place also makes homemade corn tortillas & flour tortillas purchased a bag to go, definitely recommend the corn tortillas. The flour tortillas are good freshly made eat them while they're hot. Purchased 2 pounds of carnitas to go & tried their tripa tacos & pastor tacos the carnitas are really good I recommend Tripa & carnitas for your tacos! Also sampled a Cabesa taco that was off the hook good! Pastor meat was also favorable, definitely coming back! Service was good as well, for being the first time, make sure you add everything in your ticket! The place can get a little loud and a little crowded, since it's good food expect that! This place is also a butcher meat and a grocery store! I noticed they had octopus and other seafood in their freezer, next time I will definitely bring home some octopus to try it out! read more

We went in to get some lengua tacos and ended up getting all sorts of salsa, candy and some great pork tamales. It was Sunday at lunch and the place was busy because everyone knows the food is so tasty! Lengua tacos were perfect matched with either the red or green salsa and the tamales were second to none. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to my family. Thanks Plaza Morelia for some good eats. We will be back often. read more

RESTAURANT CLOSED ON MONDAYS. The food is pretty decent here the rest of the time, definitely the best I've had in Salem though that's not saying much. Worth checking out, though I also recommend avoiding dining in during peak hours on weekends, when there tend to be too many families with screaming brats. Stopped on for a quick breakfast burrito during a swim meat in Salem - WOW. Great little secret find. Superb carniceria with a wide selection of meats, excellent produce (really fresh guava and nopales), wide selection of bakery/panateria, and a great little taqueria hiding in the back. Super nice owners - husband working the grill in the back while the wife worked front register - very friendly folks!! Best tip - they apparently have a Michoacán specialty of pork stomach (buche') most days. I'll be back next time for tacos con buche'!!!! read more

The BEST green salsa I've ever had. You can buy buckets of it at fairly reasonable prices. Well, reasonable for gringos. I make shredded pork tacos at home and smother them with this sauce. Be careful--the heat varies as it's made fresh in house. Sometimes you'll burn the crap out of your mouth. To buy: head straight to the back of the store and ask for salsa. Hands down the best raised donuts ever. Forget voodoo or krispy creme. These suckers are thick, soft, gooey and their taste stands alone. Skip the flea market of sweet toppings. Just give me one of these I will die of happiness. Oh, and the rest if their stuff is also pretty good. read more

First of all, parking sucks. Taqueria food is delicious quite a bit expensive tho. $13 for a small plate of menudo ! And customer service isn't all that great. Owner Claudia is the only friendly one there. Her husband, husbands family and every one else they have working there are all very rude. Carnicería charges you extra to cut meat for you. Really? Isn't that their job !? Market still needs to carry more items (bell peppers, canned veggies) etc ..... Their Mexican bread containers have flies landing all over their pastries however their homemade cinnamon donuts are amazing! read more

Best pork tacos in Salem. Fresh, fresh, fresh. My friend told me about this place. I was surprised it was just in the back of a mexican grocery. No one in the back speaks english, but try your best spanish and you will be rewarded. They also had some mangos up by the register. WINNER. Glad I found this place. read more

My fiance picked up a few pounds of carne asada here and some pan dulce for me and I must say the carne asada is the best asada we've had in a very long time. The pan dulce soft and fresh. He said the employees were very helpful and extremely friendly. Definitely will be going back for more. read more

You gotta try this place. Oh so yummy. It's a cozy tienda w/a kitchen in the back cooking up tasty foods. I ordered a carnitas burrito, my husband got one taco el pastor and 2 carnitas tacos. Everything was SO FREAKING GOOD. We are carnitas people, always trying carnitas at every Mexican restaurant we go to. These were probably my most favorite. Juicy and flavorful, edges just a tad crisp. The rice and beans in the burrito were perfect, soft, spiced just right and filling. My husbands tortillas were really tasty too and we think they are hand made by the store. Such a great find. And the man who helped us was so welcoming and friendly. Next time we are in Salem/Keizer area, we will be back in. Wanting to try their donut and chicarrones next. read more
