The Food was delicious and all parties enjoyed their orders. The service was prompt and fast. Food hot and fresh out the oven with Hot plates, the down side was that we were seated in the back room which lacked the ambience of the main areas. We seemed to be tucked away in the back where they can't see us. We arrived later in the evening 8pm and they closed at 10. Delicious food. The spicy was mild to moderate, not as severe as they said it'd be. However, taste buds were going the flavors were so good! Service was quick and helpful. No complaints as our server was good. Lots of booths to have an intimate seating or larger tables. Not romantic per say but would be an okay date location. Holy guac! From the hostess to the fried ice cream with churros, I had one of the best nights. We chose the Cantina side of the restaurant and only planned to stay for an hour or so. The wait staff chatted with our table and shared stories from their past as we compared similarities. The patrons all seemed happy. The vibe was infectious. The free chips and salsa (yup, still free here) were filling, but the fajitas were too good not to eat right there, while it continued to sizzle. I don't think we ever had to flag anyone over for another round, the wait staff just appeared. Thinking tonight (Wednesday) should be Wacky Taco Wednesday....id have an excuse to go back. One phrase is all you need (although I will certainly write more): Handmade tortillas. Winning! I could eat just the tortillas. But I didn't, and that's why I have leftovers. Portions are great! They know how to cook meat the right way, the sauces are flavorful, if they say it's spicy, it is (not melt your face but you can add hot sauce), and the prices are standard with wonderful portions so totally worth it. I love the atmosphere, it's colorful and cozy without being cramped. Location is solid, parking is plentiful. The waiters were cheery and fast, and our food came out in no time. The drinks were great and food was also pretty good. Service was also good. Ambiance was nice. With the overall prices though the salsa and chips should be served in larger vessels so for a party of four so that refills do need to be requested so often. Great authentic Jalisco/sonoran neighborhood restaurant. Large menu selection and reasonable priced. Margas ok with ok selection and maybe not a mix as not typical sour mix based. This place is knock your socks off gorgeous with all the tile work and accent pieces. I don't necessarily like spicy but I like strong flavors. The sauces are fine but they are not as complex as I would expect in a restaurant with this kind of ambiance. The hand made tortillas and Negra Modelo on draft more than make up for the rest of the meals though. Mole ranchero is made with bone in chicken. Pollo de mole is made with strips of boneless chicken. read more

I've been to the location on Commercial st numerous times and they never disappoint. The Kaiser location, however, is a different story. The food is on par, but the service was lacking. Didn't make my girlfriend and I feel welcomed, apart from the nice girl that brought us our food. She was great. We were going to order more drinks after our first round, but the waitress didn't check on us a single time, so I decided to put my card on the table so we could get out of there. Love this place! We live in Bend, and unfortunately don't have a La Hacienda Real restaurant here, but I wish we did! We stop and eat at this restaurant every chance we get when we're in Salem. The food is consistently excellent, the staff is wonderful, and you cannot beat the homemade tortillas. I grew up in the south west and these are just like the tortillas you find in Sonoran cuisine. They're THE BEST!!! I always get several dozen to bring home. Throw them on the skillet with a little butter and it's "melt in your mouth"perfection! La Hacienda Real has a large menu with so many options it's hard to choose what to try next. There are four locations-two in Salem, one in Kaiser and one in Beaverton. We've only been to the Salem location on Commercial Street, but the tortillas are served hot off the grill at each location. One last thing, be sure and tip the "Tortilla Chef" on your way out!!! read more
