I usually see Jenine. She does a great quick cut. She's very easy to talk to and has great energy. Unfortunately, my last appointment with her started 45 minutes late because she had a hard client right before me so we didn't get to do the layers I wanted and the face frame I asked for was completely unnoticeable because they only set for a short time due to being behind schedule. So I left without getting what I asked for at all. This is NOT the norm though. She is usually great. However, they made an emergency appointment with Missy to redo the face frame and layers before I had to leave town and I am in love with the result. My hair looks wonderful for my trip and I didn't have to pay a penny for them fixing it. It looks better than $300 cuts I've had before! Definitely recommend coming here for a nice cut for less. Received a very tight, frizzy perm. Hair is damaged. Hair dresser put my hair under dryer. When I realized the next day ( Not supposed to wash for 24 hours) how damaged my hair was I looked up perm kind and it is an exothermic perm . He put me under a dryer and it says no dryer needed. I am pretty sure it was over processed. I have had probably 50 perms or more and never has my hair been so damaged and frizzy. I asked for a body wave. He didn't trim ends as discussed when I sat down. No style, just took my soaking hair and sat me under a dryer. Had to go in bathroom and pin back my hair to walk out. Girls at desk were nice and accommodating getting me in. Yes, lesson learned. Don't have a perm from a hair dresser your not familiar with a few days before vacation. I was desperate as my appointment during week got cancelled last minute due to severe snow storm coming. read more

You know those lucky lucky people who get FREE THINGS without even asking for free things?! Consider me lucky because I got freeeeee... bangs. Without even asking for bangs!! So. Lucky ;)! In all seriousness though, without being unfair, I have nothing against the people who work here and I am not insinuating evil intentions. But I asked for a wash cut dry, showed a picture, and basically got just a rough 'interpretation' of the photo I showed the stylist. I'm not going to name her here, but for her 8 years of experience, I felt like I got a cut by a cosmetology student. In 2006. Thankfully, I know someone who can fix this in a couple months. In the mall, inquired about a wash and cut, friendly front desk, checked and they were able to take me immediately, assigned me to Lila. Friendly, knowledgeable, after the cut I had more time and inquired about a blow, checked the schedule and was able to accommodate. Lila was very attentive to what I wanted in terms of a cut and blow out. Great job, I felt great with the blowout style and I will be back for cuts and looking for highlighting options with Lila in the future. I had an appointment at Plaza Salon and had to wait a half an hour. After my cut and blow dry I went to pay for the service. The manager apologized for the wait and would not charge me for the service. That was so nice of her. I have never experienced this customer appreciation on this level before! Thank you. I went to the mall last weekend to make a return and as I was leaving I decided to pop into Plaza Salon just to get my hair looked at, for them to tell me how I could fix my hair...(I decided to box dye it! BIG MISTAKE) As I walked in, I noticed it was extremely busy so didn't think I would have a chance to see anyone. The two women at the front desk were extremely friendly and as soon as I told them what was going on, they called Robyn over the loud speaker to come take a look at my hair. Not even 5 minutes later I was whisked away to the back and Robyn who was incredibly sweet told me what she thought I should do. She said she had about an hour and a half if I wanted to do it that day before she left. She gave me an amazing price and we started. She was so personable and even stayed past 3pm when she was supposed to leave to meet her children. I thanked her up and down. She passed me onto another girl at the very end to blow dry my hair. I have been getting my hair done for years and years and I can honestly say that this was one of my FAVORITE looks yet! She did an incredible job and I will definitely be making my appointments with her in the future. read more

I have been a walk-in guy my whole life, until Janine sat me down, talked to me about my look, did a great job cutting my hair and insisted I come back so she could follow-up. I got that follow-up today, and I'll be making appointments with her for the foreseeable future. Plaza Salon has a great atmosphere and community, there's a sense of stylish professionalism and importantly they seem to remember their clients. I recommend Janine in particular as she's honest, has real concern for whether her customers look good when they leave her chair, and makes sure you feel looked-after. I've always come to Plaza Salon for Lord knows how many years. I've seen some hair dressers come and go. Some gave "meh" haircuts and some were just plain atrocious. Luckily, I've found Janine. My sister got her hair cut and colored and it came out flawless! As time went by, my whole family including my husband depended on her and her alone to handle our hair. She has amazing hands. This place is a scam! They try to charge you more than what you ask for. I went in asked if I could get a cut and shampoo and the receptionist told me that would be fine. They then charged me the full price of wash, cut and dry! I didn't even get a blow dry and they wouldn't budge on the price. They did the same thing to my mom and overcharged her when the hairdresser only rinsed her hair and didn't even shampoo. Haircuts are average, nothing special. Won't be returning. read more

If I could give a negative 100 rating, I would. I left with a partial head of foils because the stylist Jeanine did not listen to what I was looking for and got defensive, called in another stylist to emphatically insist that I needed something I was not looking for. I told them they seemed defensive and I was only trying to get what I asked for and came in for. First stylist walked away and refused to finish the service... Was told by manager Jessy that another stylist would be with me in 10 to 15 minutes and then was told they needed to rinse me and they had no time to fix the issue. Walked out with bleached pieces of blonde hair on dark brown. Worst customer service approach and initial insensitivity I have ever encountered in all of my years. I left crying and upset because I was not listened to initially about what I came in to receive and pay for. Was referred to DM Sal and told I would receive a call. I will report to BBB. read more

My husband and I are new ti the area and I needed a haircut and color desperately. We were in the mall and I finally had enough of my roots. I passed Plaza Salon and it was packed and a line outside.(which I've seen before at mall hair salons on Saturdays). I went up to the counter and was greeted very warmly by Charlie who answered all my questions about pricing and what I wanted done. The manager Vinny came over who was very nice also and I made an appointment for that Monday. Monday came and I went for my appointment and was told by Charlie that Linda was going to be doing my cut and color. Linda asked what I wanted and I told her that I wasn't sure what to do with the color and what her opinion was. Not only did she explain what she thought I should do but she also explained why.(that doesn't happen very often). Linda is very knowledgeable and not only was she right about the color(which I LOVE), she was right about cutting 6 inches of split ends off(which I didn't love at first). That's why she's the professional. I would highly recommend Plaza Salon. read more

I gave Plaza a try three times. The first time was for a cut. The girl was nice and did a good job. I have short hair and a very basic cut, the only problem was that she had just gotten back from a smoke break and had not washed her hands before starting with me so her fingers reeked of cigarette smoke. I used to smoke but the smell that close to my face was very unpleasant. I was practically gagging. Unprofessional. I wanted to give it another try because some of my girlfriends said they were good. This time I a requested a non smoker, Sara. I felt she was very helpful and listened to what I wanted. She did a great cut and style. Upon my next visit we decided that it would be time to touch up my roots. I made an appointment for Sara. Right from the start, I told her I was on a tight budget and that I could afford about $60.00 for a touch up, I like to tip so I was thinking I could do about $10.00 and I knew it would take a couple of hours. Because I am pregnant she suggested foils so they would not touch my scalp and it would be cheaper than an all over color. My hair is short and she also offered to curb the cost by not charging for the blow dry to keep it around $60.00. I thought great, let's go! Again she did a great job, the color and cut were awesome. When I go to pay, the cashier says $81.00 please. It took my breath away I was too embarrassed to speak up. (mind you I support my husband through graduate school and I seriously budgeted for this based on what I have paid in the past ) I just paid and gave a 10.00 tip. $91.00! I know I should have spoken up, but Sara was standing right there and said nothing. Maybe she forgot? Would I have gotten her in trouble if they knew she was cutting me a deal? And, I paid the tip because she did a good job on my hair. Bottom line, we negotiated a price that was not honored and... I should have spoken up. I was so mad at myself and felt disregarded by the salon. None the less, I have never paid 90.00 for a cut and color anywhere for my short hair. I gave them three tries. I don't trust going there anymore. Not worth it, lacks integrity. Would not recommend as a business. By the way, Sara does smoke so when I requested a non smoker, my request was also, not honored... for $90.00 I would have expected much more professionalism. read more

Just got my hair done here. In the past two times, I've really liked it. I came in today for a walk in appointment, and got a guy whose name I unfortunately don't remember. He was trying to be nice, although he did go on his phone during my haircut. He asked me what I wanted, I gave my usual response- he asked no questions, didn't need any specificities. I asked to trim the back and sides A LITTLE and then barely trim the bangs at all. He decided to give me a crew cut on the back and sides of my head and then GO IN DRY WOTH SCISSORS ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD AND BANGS! I was in and out of the chair in less than 15 minutes. He just wanted to be done, and I could understand if the place is closing soon but it wasn't close to closing time at all. This is the worst haircut I've ever received- I always tip- always. This guy received no tip. Please please please please please don't go to this salon. read more
