The cart paths and tee boxes are by far the worst in the Medina area, by far. Added to that, they cost an average $10 per nine hole round than any of the courses in the area, all of which are in far better shape. The golf cars look like they haven't been cleaned in months, just not a great impression, especially when added to the general conditions mentioned above. Broken golf tees litter, numerous ball marks on the greens that go unrepaired, and sand traps that aren't raked. Last time for us unfortunately. read more

Way overpriced for what is offered. Virtually no club house amenities, cart paths are in such bad shape golfers drive on the rough next to them and the tee boxes haven't seen water since the last rain. There are far too many other courses in the area to choose from offering better value rather than waste your money here. read more

This used to be a premier golf course and I was very disappointed in the conditions of the cart paths and the cost of playing there this past Sunday with my son and 2 grandsons. $72 is totally unacceptable especially when other golf courses in the area are less money and even have a practice driving range with all the golf balls you want to hit!! $6 for a hot dog?!! My son bought a can of Pepsi and they had no cups to put ice in and no straws. He had to use a coffee stirrer. Where do you play other courses when your in a fairway and are blocked out by overhanging tree limbs? Some of the employees have an attitude problem especially the one women who worked there this past Sunday May 19th. You get no roll in the fairways It was more like work than just playing and having fun as it should be. I'm sure the owners once they read this will be saying " Go play elsewhere if you don't like it'" because that's there way of thinking. believe me, for the price they charge I definitely will. With all the negative reviews, you think the owners would change their attitude with the public, but I know this course is probably well paid for and now they are just milking the public with the high cost of playing. i just don't like the attitude of the employees working there. it's like they are doing you a favor to let you play their course.!! Come on people, get with the program and treat the people playing there with a little respect and gratitude of supporting your golf course.!!! My best friend, fighting stage 4 cancer and I couldn't really understand why it was still cart path only, everything seemed to be very dried out as the day went along..We were on hole 16 , and went just a few yards off the bumpy pot hole cart path and a greens keeper started literally screaming at us, wanting to fight us for varying off the path...serious anger issues...the guys behind said he did the same to them and they would NEVER come back....not a good employee to represent your establishment read more

Hadn't played here in a few years. They are putting money into the course which is good. Greens in nice shape. However, today's round was miserable. Played behind (4) foursomes that were terrible with no golf etiquette that lead to the longest round of the year. To top it off, we make the turn at 10 only to find that the starter sent a twosome out ahead of us. When we asked the starter he showed no concern. Course is overpriced at $72 and slow play. If you like getting frustrated with slow play and paying $72 then it's your type of course. read more

Upon arrival at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Medina, Ohio you may want to use the restroom, as there are none on the course. The toilet does flush, so it isn't quite an outhouse, but the last time this was updated was, never. At the tee shop desk will be a family member of the course owner, who will also be "more than happy" to service you at the snack bar, just don't ask for ice for your water, or more than 2 beers. Vending machines in the snack bar so as not to bother the multitasking nepot. Now, the course...Your front yard is equivalent to the fairways here, ball sits down, hardly any roll. I'd recommend popping a couple Viva end before your round, as the cart paths are the worse I have ever had to drive on. But don't go off the path, as your cart will disengage. PV has used this technology for decades, tens of years before Canterbury or Shaker or Pepper or Country! They have never pruned a tree on this course, evident by number 9 and number 18. Every lake is algae-plagued. I've been told they purposefully grow pricker bushes and poison ivy on the edges of the woods to deter you from looking for a lost ball. They burn everything and anything in a bonfire on number 12. Toxic smoke will gag you. But don't bother calling the county officials, as the owner is a govbot himself. 6 of the 9 pins on the back are placed in nearly unputtable positions. There is no irrigation system, so the course will play wet until nature can do its thing. Other than that, fork over almost 75 bucks and you too can have the Pleasant Valley experience. read more

I was convinced to play Pleasant Valley Country Club by a few friends who said it is a must play. I will no longer listen to those friends. It is okay, but I would not rush to play it again. It is called Pleasant Valley Country Club, but it is public and there is not a club to join. Condition: It is in average shape. Some of the tee boxes, especially on the front side were dried out and the greens were a bit bumpy. We had not experienced any stressful weather lately so it should be better. The fairways are cut higher than a better course should be and the rough has a good bit of clover and weeds. Pace of Play: We played on a brilliant Sunday, just past noon and hardly a soul on the course. We got off well ahead of our tee time and didn't run into another group until hole 7. Luckily we jumped past them on 10 and never saw another group again. Amenities: None to speak of really. Pro Shop is bare and there is a bar inside, but the same person worked both and no there was food in sight. We purchased a drink from the vending machine inside and made our way to the course. No driving range, but there is a large putting green for short game warm up. Value: Normally $44 to ride 18 holes on the weekend. We had a special from an online site and played for $31. It was decent value for that price, but not the $44. Course design: Other than 14, 16, 17 and 18 the course design is mostly forgettable. Several slight doglegs. The back is definitely better then the front and a couple of the holes on the back are tight, so it does require a bit of shotmaking. The greens are relatively flat, with little undulation and break even less than they look. I couldn't figure them out until late in the round when I decided to play no break and putts started falling. It didn't meet my expectations, but I was told it was in great shape and was lots of fun to play. We have many decent courses in the area so I may or may not be back, but would suggest you form your own opinion. I would say it is average in comparison to nearby competition. Cheers! read more

We played on a Sunday in July and were told we could play 18 when we made the tee time for 4pm. We made the turn at about 6 and went inside for food and additional beers. There was no food other then vending machine snacks, but we were sold beers. When we went to tee off on the back nine we were immediately stopped and told the course was closing to "water" the grass. Again, it was 6pm on a Sunday. Not sure why they sold us the beers knowing we couldn't keep playing or why they ever told us we could play 18 holes in the first place. Very disappointed with the staffing and overall experience. It's not a terrible course, but it's run AWFULLY. read more

I had not played here in many years. I was unpleasantly surprised that the entire clubhouse is closed except to pay for your round. All food and drink is purchased from vending machines. Golf carts have a plastic divider separating you and your partner. It was covered in what looked like spit up from coughing all over it. We unfortunately got rained out after 7 holes, the golf course closed and of course NO REFUNDS OR RAINCHECKS. THE COURSE SENT US BACK TO GOLFNOW WHO DID NOTHING BUT SEND US BACK TO THE GOLFCOURSE. I made a tee time for 4:47. I walk into the clubhouse to pay, and a very short old man tell me that he's closing when I cleared out my day to go golfing. I was going by myself so it obviously wouldn't take very long especially when I BOOKED A TEE TIME. Terrible man who knows how to ruin a mans day. I got to play the first nine on this course this week, and I was pleasantly surprised. The course was beautiful and full of variety. Loved the large acreage that Pleasant Valley has, some of the holes are as large as 607 yards. The fairways are perfect and sand was in outstanding shape. Price was also very good! read more

If you want to be treated like garbage because they didn't like one player out of 11, this is the place for you. After playing we bought beer and were outside when the cocky kid comes storming out of the shop with a hammer in his hand yelling for all of us to get the F*%# off of the property, When I said we did nothing wrong his uncle chimed in we are all a holes and they already called the cops and hope we all blow over .08. As I said WOW. Funny thing is a kid and father were coming off of the ninth hole and the kid said they yelled at his father last week. These are not friendly people and do not appreciate customers. I confronted the uncle and told him he has no right to call me that since I did nothing wrong, then he flipped my friend off. They need to SELL, they are not nice people read more

I purchased a coupon book from a "charity" person in North Ridgeville. In it were coupons for buy 1 greens fee, get a 2nd one free (still had to pay for cart for both patrons). I presented the coupon to the counter, they immediately stated the did not authorize this, that is a fraudulent coupon, and that they are not going to allow it. Later in the round the owner of the course & a police officer visited me (on my way to a tee box) and asked where I got it from & other questions. The owner, nor the counter lady, apologized for the inconvenience but were more concerned that it be known that there was a "fraud". The officer was great, and I have spoken with him since about stopping whoever is behind these books. The course should have taken this moment to do some good. I understand the coupon isn't a valid coupon. But it was baring your name, logo, information, and other identifiers making it look pretty official. At the very least say you are sorry for the mishap here is $10 off your round, thanks for coming. Instead me and my group got awkward stares and constant reminders that this was a fraud on the course. Unfortunately, the course didn't lose any money in this "fraud", so how it is a fraud on them is beyond me. I paid for the coupons, I paid for the non-discounted rounds, and I wasted my time under a fraudulent assumption as to the deal I was receiving. The course is ok, nothing special, no real spectacular holes. Decently groomed, everything was green, no real dead spots, but there was nothing amazing or even visually appealing about it. For $46 for 18 & a cart I'd expect a little more. A comparable would be Sweetbriar in Avon/Westlake Ohio. For 18 & a cart it is $32, which is a quality deal b/c they have an amazing facility, a range, 2 practice greens, and a chipping green. Pleasant Valley is clearly over priced for what they offer. If you price yourself with the big boys, make sure you provide the same experience & level of care they do. I, for one, will never be back. read more

I've been playing over 50 years and for the last 30 PV has been my favorite course in NE Ohio. If Blue Heron was in the condition PV always is it might take the top spot due to its incredible altitude changes and views. Was pleasantly surprised to learn this week that PV now takes credit/debit cards, and they also have a loyalty program. The course is defined by two very different nines. The first is fairly open and highlighted by two excellent par 3's, a fun "water hole," and two brutes to finish in 8 and 9. The back nine is a completely different course in that there are freaking trees everywhere and then there are MORE trees there. Seriously, bring your Black & Decker. There's not a weak hole on the back (and actually, outside of #2 I don't think there's a weak hole on the front) and 14-15-16-17-and 18 rank with any five finishing holes in the area. Remember the two good par 3's on the front I mentioned? Well, the two 3's on the back make the front two look average--and they're not, not by any means. Oh, and if you play from the blues you'll need a 3 wood (or more) on 17. If they wind is blowing in, do yourself a favor and play the whites. Yikes, it can be beastly. 18 is a not-very-long par 4 with water all the way down the right side, PLUS, if off the tee you hit the center of the fairway with any left-to-right spin it it's going to sleep with the fishes. Your ball, not you, although you may want to follow it in. That hole has ruined a lot of rounds. A LOT. I came into 18 a few years ago needing a bogey to shot 79 and somehow managed to walk off with an 82. Ouch. Also good news is that there is now a very nice, pleasant and professional young lady running the front desk/pro shop. She's a welcome addition. Things I don't like about it? They keep the fairways very soft so you don't get much roll unless it's been REALLY dry, on the other hand it's always lush and green as can be. For years I've thought the greens could be firmer but the last couple of years they've been very good. Not great but very good. Sometimes I can't bring myself to hit a putt as firmly as it should be to get to the hole. All in all, I feel very lucky to have PV within reasonable driving distance. While there are plenty of public course options around this is always my first choice. read more

Are you kidding me ? Yes it CAN be a nice track however it's late September and after charging us $48 we were treated to aerated greens that have not been top coated with sand .. You could not putt. Bumpy , lumpy terrible greens . You'd think they would at the very least charge you a fall rate to play in those conditions. Want to relax with friends after your round have some food and watch the game? Well hope you like hotdogs and listening to the radio .. No food other than a dog or kielbasa and Yes RADIO !!
