Absentee Administration: The Administrator is consistently unavailable, remaining behind closed doors and making zero effort to engage with residents or build relationships with families. Dishonest Nursing Leadership: The two Directors of Nursing (DONs) have proven to be unreliable. We found them to be misleading and dishonest regarding care and protocols on multiple occasions. Retaliatory Environment: There is a "shut up or leave" culture here. When residents or family members advocate for better care by asking questions or filing complaints, the facility responds by discharging the resident rather than addressing the concerns. If you are looking for a facility that values open communication and treats residents with respect, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

The owners, Haley and Leah, and all the staff are so sweet and so genuine. I felt confident that they could love my grandpa almost as much as my family would. The house felt like a home, very similar to the first level of the house I grew up in. It's not at all the sterile environment of some nursing homes. When I visited, I felt welcome to use the kitchen to make food for my grandpa and enjoyed spending time with some of the other residents. It is also clear that this is a family project. The family, spouses and kids of the staff are all involved with getting to know the residents and being involved in their lives. Despite Presbyterian Manor being considered one of the "better" elderly residences/care homes in…read morethis area, I would like to point out some of the negatives. FIRST: Poor-quality meals. Lack of consistency in meal quality is a huge issue here. Some meals are acceptable but many look/taste highly unappetizing, with overcooked, dry meat a common issue. Because the elderly tend to be polite and uncomplaining, Presbyterian Manor gets away with chronically mediocre food service. FYI: The generations headed to elder-care facilities in the near future, Boomers and GenX, will not tolerate what the generation you currently house put up with. SECOND: There are major infrastructure issues in this building, including A/C leaks that cause flooding in rooms, mice running throughout the building and into residents rooms, lack of sound-barrier insulation to reduce unacceptable noise level in rooms during construction, water and electricity outages, and construction debris left on the ground where residents walk during construction of a major addition that started in 2025 and will last until 2027. If the Manor has that much money for a multi-million-dollar addition, why can't they solve the EXISTING building infrastructure problems FIRST? And did it ever occur to management to offer some kind of compensation for the highly stressful inconvenience you are putting residents through for more than an entire year of constructing an addition? This elder-care facility is a symbol of how the U.S. treats its elderly--eager to take their hard-earned money, with a lack of respect on some matters simply because the elderly don't want to make waves and/or have a diminished ability to demand their rights.

None more so than Kylie - the resident 'tech help'. My father's phone began acting up shortly after he moved in. A true nightmare when your loved one lives 1,500 miles away. A month of research and even a trip to the Verizon Store accomplished nothing. But one visit from Kylie and she spotted the problem and had it fixed in no time. That saved us the money and headache of buying a new phone and setting it up. She's now my hero.
