These are hands down the best cider donuts I've ever had. I went in with the intention of getting just donuts and left with peaches and mums! The store front is super cute and they have a little bit of everything inside. The owner was incredibly kind and accommodating. He helped me pick out some mums and even put them in my car for me. I try not to stop in when I drive by because I will buy everything they have! Been coming here for years- have all sorts of colored mums, pumpkins of every size and color, gourds that are so cute and some freaky! They have homemade pies, apple cider, organic honey, maple syrup, candles, snacks, dog treats, and my favorites- apple cider doughnuts and Helaney's Pepper Biscuits which are the only pepper biscuits I like. The owners/family so nice and always helpful and happy to greet you. They also have unique decorations for the fall like corn stalks and wind spinners that look like hot air balloons that are so colorful you will want them all! From the road side this little orchard is eye catching, cute and inviting. They have some pretty flowers on display along with spinny wind decorations that really grab your attention. The parking lot is definitely tight but luckily I went at an off time so it wasn't busy. The inside of the store was clean but unfortunately not very stocked. There wasn't much to look at other then some honey, jams and that's about all. I think because it's such a "transitional" time that's probably why. I'll stop back in the fall when I know they'll have more pumpkin and apple items. Glad I checked it out though :-) read more

This is located along the same street as Del's Lemonade. They offer organic honey and doughnuts along with plants and vegetables. Cider doughnuts ($7 for 4) has a good texture. We purchased some FABULOUS Gourmet Chocolate and Caramel covered Apples that were out of this world delicious!!! Hands down the absolute best chocolate covered apples ever!!! Pros: Amazing Peach muffins, I am not even a huge peach fan. It was a good size and delicious. We also bought a pie, some yacht clubs and butter toffee peanuts. They were all good. Con: obviously Trump fans, when I am shopping I don't like political agendas pushed on me. There was nothing to ccomfortable. Z good selection of items.. After a disappointing visit to Jaswell's Farm, we stopped in at Pleasant View to browse in the country store. This quaint little shop has a plethora of edible goods mostly, and the charming male clerks beckoned to us to sample some delicious, locally-grown, mini grapes, and pieces of freshly-baked apple cider donuts. After taking all in and snapping a couple of shots of the place, we selected some fudge and a large peanut butter cup (both made by a chocolatier in Rowley, Mass.) to purchase. We also bought a couple of those yummy cider donuts to bring home for the following morning's breakfast. They are, quite honestly, THE BEST apple cider donuts I have ever eaten! They have a distinct cider flavor, and a soft center that is not in the least bit dry. I highly recommend that you get in on these should they be available at the time of your visit. The fudge and peanut butter cup were phenomenal---ultimately creamy, rich and decadent. In fact, we're now planning a trip next summer to Essex County to see if we can purchase some of the goodies directly from the source. We would most certainly stop in at Pleasant View again should we be in the area again or are looking for an easy jaunt from home in the fall. read more

After reading all the negative reviews I'm happy to say I have never had a bad experience here. The pumpkin pies baked in the fall are the best around. I hadn't been in awhile and stopped by Jaswell farm to pick blueberries only to find they closed at 3 (website says 5). I stopped at Pleasant View since I was already in the neighborhood. I pulled in but noticed the sign said closed and went to get back into my car. The elderly man waved me in. He asked what I was looking for. I said I wasn't sure but typically buy pies there. He said we'll come on in there's a few cooling. I told him I could come back in morning. He said it's fine the pies will be sold by then. I asked how much they were. He said $25 blueberry and $22 for others. I picked a fruit of the forest- other- $25 he said, lol. A little pricey but we'll worth it. Since they were closed I just bought the pie and didn't shop around since he was nice enough to let me in. Edit: fruit of the forest pie was a bit bland. It could use some sugar in the filling. If you believe the pandemic is a hoax, you should have no problem shopping here, but if you're concerned about your health and safety, give this shop a miss this year. There is no provision for or attempt at social distancing, not from the proprietors nor the customers. An unmasked older gentleman stood in the center of the small shop, loudly and cheerfully greeting customers. The people at the checkout were wearing very loosely tied masks that sagged open and left their noses exposed. I called yesterday to ask when they were closing for the day. The older gentleman advised 4:00p but that he would wait for me to get out of work. It was pouring yesterday so I wasn't sure that he would still be there. He was! He told me to take my time and look around the place until I found what I was looking for. He was very pleasant the entire time. When I was leaving he told me to pull up in front of the building and to help myself to the small containers of various plants and hanging plants that were out front. I read the other reviews and I did agree. I had similar experience with the "older man". But their flowers and products are so fresh and gorgeous I decided to give it a try when we bought our Christmas tree. I called to get the hours and the man that answered the phone was not only pleasant but super helpful. When we arrived there were many worker and customer service was excellent. The tree were excellent and they kept offering free apple cider. The "older man" was there inside and low and behold he was kind the children and offered free candy, crackers and cheese, and apple cider. There was even a little whiskey for the adults. So maybe once I would have given this place one or two stars but maybe people can change :) But with the full service I got today I give it 5 stars. read more

The older man who is in charge is incredibly rude. The customer service is horrible and he likes to yell at customers. To top it all off, he now has a display that includes a doll of a presidential candidate being hung. It's offensive and not appropriate for children - or really anyone. Pleasant View? More like Hells Gate Orchards! There is nothing pleasant about this store or the people who work there. It's an absolute nightmare!! Do not shop here! They're incredibly rude and pushy, misogynistic bastards!! The old man behind the counter cussed me out because I didn't want to buy a $47 pumpkin! I initially popped in to purchase a few small pumpkins and gourds for decor. I picked out all the gourds and small pumpkins I wanted and two men boxed and bagged them for me. I then strolled over to look at the large pumpkins and a man followed me and said in a very curt tone, "don't touch the stem!" Okay. Got it. Won't touch the stem. He continued to follow me around, making sure I didn't touch his precious pumpkins, eyeing me for what seemed like an eternity. He then asked, "yew want one? Yeah, this the one yew want!" I agreed that I wanted the large pumpkin - thinking it couldn't be THAT expensive. So, he and another man load a small cart with all my pumpkins and I'm ready to pay. I walk to the counter, only to be halfheartedly greeted by an old man scratching his genitals. Wonderful. I can only imagine who handles their produce and prepares their homemade pies. I tell him I'm ready to pay. He rang me up for a total of $92! Shocked by the total, I asked him how much the large pumpkin was and he shouts back, "F*ckin' forty seven dahlahs! Yew want tha pumkin?" Again, shocked by his response, I calmly reply, "No sir, do you mind taking it off?" He replies, "Yew mess'd up my f*ckin' registah! F*ckin' Christ! I gotta stawt all ovah!" He then looks at the men pushing my cart and yells, "She don't want nothin'! Unload the fuckin' pumpkins!" He looks at me again and says, "These pumpkins ah gonna f*ckin' rot because yew touched 'em!" I'm standing there in complete awe! I walk over to the men at my cart and simply said, "I'm happy to purchase the smaller pumpkins and gourds if someone else would like to ring me up." The old man then starts yelling more profanities and the two men dismiss me. It was clear who ran the place! I quickly hopped in my car and happily drove to Jaswell's Farm to purchase two giant pumpkins - totaling less than $35, then to Trader Joe's in Warwick for a big batch of small and medium pumpkins and gourds - again, less than $35! 1. I never said I didn't want the small pumpkins and gourds. Even after the old man cursed me! 2. Why does Pleasant View Orchard think it's okay to talk to a customer this way? 3. I wish there were a zero star rating for this business! Today they charged my husband double the price for a flat of flowers. When we returned with the receipt at their request, the clerk initially insisted the price was correct. Over $60.00 for a flat of annual flowers! What? The owner got involved, acknowledged the mistake and asked if we would accept cash so he wouldn't have to do the credit card transactions. In this day of covid-19, they charge the customer a 3% fee to use a credit or debit card, encouraging the use of cash! After handing my husband $30.00 in cash which was several dollars less than he owed us, he commented that he didn't really know (from his own archaic receipt) what we had actually purchased, implying that we were pretending we had only bought one flat but had really bought more. When I advised him that I was highly offended and would never do business there again, he became very agitated and rushed inside the building. As my husband and I returned to our vehicle, he rushed back outside and was copying down our registration. He also violated our personal space several times and did not maintain proper social distancing. Extremely unprofessional on many levels. read more

I read the other very negative reviews of this place. The older gentleman was also there when I stopped by, but he was very pleasant to me. I bought a whole bunch of mini gourds and pumpkins for my table decor, all for $10! (there were at least 18 there). Also got some RI maple syrup and some strawberry fruit spread. SO DISAPPOINTED. The older man (owner?) was just awful to my son.. He told me to take him up the street (jaswells) to pick a pumpkin out of the patch because he didn't like that he picked a small pumpkin up. (Why have them out if you don't want them to be touched?) My son is very well-behaved and I took him there to enjoy the scarecrows and pumpkins and this man ruined the experience by yelling at him to the point of my son calling him scary. I told him I was there to buy mums and would be going somewhere else-which is good because the mums were priced at $9.99 and I got them for $6 at Smiths and $5 at Lincoln Gardens. I am upset I now have to drive by this place that always made me smile because it looked pretty and now have these awful memories. There are too many places to go in this state with friendly people who want my business. So upsetting that people can be so mean to little kids-and for what??? Arrived At 4:25 to buy my vegetable plants for my garden & despite a sign right there saying open till 5 they were closed... 2 men there , one was washing his truck the other was inside next to register. This place has THE healthiest, most beautiful flowers, that you will see on display as you drive by this little gem! I get everything here, for every season, including my Christmas Tree. They also have a cute little store inside that sells various treats such as pies and cookies. In the fall, they have hot toddies to warm you up as you shop. I went there today with my friend and her elderly mom. I Believe the person working behind the counter was the owner. He was giving us a hard time about the apples and then started dropping the F word. My friend's elderly mother asked him to stop yelling and at that point I couldn't take it anymore and walked out and waited in the parking lot. When my friend and her mom came out he opened up the door and screamed at my friend to shut the FN door the AC is on. He then came outside and continued to yell at us. We ended up leaving and going to Jaswells . I could not believe how rude and disrespectful this man was. At one point my friend asked him if he had a restroom and he told her to go out back and pee outside he claims he does it all the time. Needless to say he lost business today and we will never return there again. I went there last year with the same friend and the woman that was working out was wonderful. I have stopped in to this nursery, country store a couple of times and I find that the selection is unusual, and excellent quality. The plants are amazingly healthy. The price is a bit high, but you get what you pay for. The elderly man seems grumpy at first and is very cautious with his plants and products. I cannot blame him for doing so. However, once you chat with him, he becomes quite friendly and funny . People need to understand his personality. I just referred a friend to the place. Personally, I feel that there should be no political reference in a public place, but I find so many things offending lately, especial in the news. I stopped by here today looking for one pound sugar pumpkins. I was greated by an older gentleman with a mouth full of food. I told him in was looking for one pound sugar pumpkins. He directed me and pointed out a pumpkin that was much larger than I wanted so I again said I only wanted one pound sugar pumpkins. He then said over there on your left. I was so excited to see them and asked how much. He said $1.00 HOW MANY DO YOU WANT? THEN SAID $2.00 FOR ONE.. I SAID $2.00 REALLY?? Then he turned his back to me and walked back inside saying "if you don't want them go home". I said that is just what I am going to do and I left. What he doesn't know is I purchase thing there now and then but after this I will not ever go there and I will not refer this nursery to anyone. read more
