We went with the standard size pontoon for 4 people and had plenty of room for each person to have their own space to cast off at all times. Much overdue review of a wonderful experience renting a pontoon at Pleasure Point in April. The gentlemen working that day who helped us on the boat and explained everything to us were very friendly and professional. They explained everything very clearly and gave us tips on the best route to take. The boat itself was awesome as well. It was in great shape, very clean, comfortable, and easy to navigate. We especially enjoyed the sound system and shade on the pontoon. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable two hours on the boat and could have easily spent another hour or two on it. Less crowded, plenty of parking, great customer service. We rented a 6-person luxury pontoon for four hours (highly recommend four hours as you'll be wishing for more time after two). We brought our two teenagers with us and had a blast. You should know that you can't swim off of the boat but it didn't matter. We were very happy boating and floating. Very relaxing and a very nice boat, I must say! My favorite part was the Bluetooth speakers on deck. I also rented a paddleboard for a couple of hours and paddled around the marina area where there were some nice, chill waters and animal and bug nurseries. Baby dragonflies, baby fishes, baby ducks and their mamas teaching them how to hunt for food. I really appreciated that this was a quieter area of Big Bear lake away from all the craziness. This gets a 5 star all the way around. We rented a pontoon boat for our family, which included my almost 99-year-old mom. She was so looking forward to go out on the lake since we've had a cabin up here since 1964. But it's been quite a while since she's been up. The facilities are absolutely perfect. The docs are nice and it's a great location. The pontoon boats are all a year old or newer. They're great condition. And the price includes guess you don't need to fill them up when you come back in. Seeing that, my mother is quite elderly, they picked her up in the parking lot with their golf cart and drove her right down to the docks. Then they had a wheelchair that they rolled her down right to the pontoon boat. She just had to stand up and walk a few steps onto the boat. What amazing service. The young man who helped my mom with the wheelchair and the golf cart was so kind and so sweet. He was a junior in high school coming up. His mom and dad raised him well. His name was Mateo. Kyle helped us with the reservations and met us when we arrived. Everything went great and my mom even drove the boat for a short while lol. read more

This marina and the team is awesome. We came in with a classic '80s boat and were greeted with what we needed. Rewind to last summer and the great experiences we had with renting pontoons. A++. This summer, the service dept performed the necessary stickering to be legal in the lake. Shortly after moving into our slip, mechanical issues began with the out drive. The service department, specifically John and Justin, did their best to improve shifting while recommending more maintenance next year. Well, this did not work out for us and it was time to dig in and install new parts. While testing out the new system, deeper engine problems appeared. Now, we were getting deeper into $$ repairs. Justin and John were excellent with describing what problems we had and the many options to fix. After choosing a good path forward, that relied extensively on other specialty shops, we are almost ready to launch and enjoy the boat. One last shop specializing in vintage carburetors is still not ready to release it back to the Pleasure Point Shop. I know all of these folks are working to put Miss Manny in the water with the delightful performance she was designed for. Though I've grown inpatient with the starts and delays, the team at Pleasure Point is absolutely the best boat shop I have ever dealt with. read more

If you call them, they are pleasant and helpful in giving rental information. We rented two pontoons. The large luxury was the nicest. But what was most stellar was an employee named Canoe. My 87 year old parent who used a walker, was escorted by Canoe in a golf cart and literally made sure she safely got across ramp and on to the boat. His caring compassion made my parents trip! He returned promptly at the end of the trip to take my parents to our vehicle. We highly recommend this business. Boat orientation and pontoons exceeded our expectations. My family rented a pontoon for 1 hour at 1:30PM. The initial employee who helped us with our pontoon and explained how to use it was very nice. He offered to take pictures for our family. My dad put the shift in neutral in order to start the pontoon and get out of the dock area. The boat had an incessant beeping sound that went on for a good 5-10 minutes so we called Pleasure Point to ask about it and we were told that it would go away. So we went on while the beeping noise continued for another 5-10 mins and then the engine just turned off. We attempted to restart the engine 2 more times and both times it turned off again. The gauge indicated empty so based on context clues we assumed the boat was out of gas and dead. We played phone tag with an employee for 20-30 minutes to try to get someone out here to help us. There was no organization or protocol of steps to check before having a boat sent out to help us. Around 2:15PM, 2 Pleasure Point employees on a pontoon came to help us. 1 employee jumped on our boat and was able to start the engine. He stated that "the shift wasn't in neutral" and "you were told this at the beginning" in a curt manner as if this was our fault. He also told us the beeping noise was just an oil check reminder. A bit concerning since shouldn't the oil be checked and changed consistently? If it is, maybe figure out a way to turn off the noise? At that point, we had 15 mins left of our reservation and told no accommodations could be made since there was another rental after us. We've rented pontoons before from other rentals and this has never happened to us. Yes, we were instructed once to make sure the shift was in neutral and could have utilized better problem solving skills. But the engine should have never turned off in the first place. Why wasn't the first step to ask us if we had the shift in neutral? That could have given us more time to enjoy our rental. Overall, they provide a service but provide no tools to utilize that service. The boats were also decrepit. No hate or animosity just extremely disappointed in this experience and will not be returning. Mo read more

This was a very nice area to relax. We rented a small pontoon boat for 1 hour. Taylor and Marshal (I think ) were the two guys who helped us out on a very busy Saturday! There was a lot of people so I am glad I had a reservation for the pontoon boat. Great facility! If you're looking for a slip, theirs are really nice. If you want full service assistance they will take care of you. Only less than par feature is the launch ramp. It's small and needs to be improved. There is a bigger drop off because it isn't log enough that made it hard to pull our boat out ourselves, but if your having them launch it, they will handle it. read more

While staying in Big Bear recently, my wife and I along with another couple decided to rent a boat and go out on the lake. We contacted Pleasure Point Maria for the rental of a small platoon boat to cruise the lake for 4 hours. We arrived at the Marina and we were pleasantly greeted by two ladies in the office as the prepared everything for us. We then walked down the dock to pick up our boat. The gentleman showed us to our boat and provided detailed instructions on how to operate the vessel as well as going over the safety equipment. We then enjoyed four hours of cruising a very empty Big Bear lake. It was a wonderful and relaxing day on the water with no issues. We returned the pontoon boat and then went to have a beer and something to eat. We were really happy with the service we received at Pleasure Point Marina and that fact that they provided Military Discounts as well. Their boats are a bit worn (well used) but very operable and lake worthy. Next time you are in Big Bear, I do recommend Pleasure Point Marina for you boat rentals.
