UPDATE: Confirmed this business is not in operation under this name, and is a scam - SO BEWARE. Do not book through their online booking system. We got in touch with the guy who's name was being used to run the scam - he's really close with and previously worked with the people that work at the marina. He confirmed that this company had been sold, and it turns out they weren't taking reservations. The marina is also investigating what's going on. Someone is using the guy's name, Adam, to answer the phone and using a google powered online booking system under this company's name to collect the fee and then doesn't show up, disconnects the phone line, etc. We let our bank know, now the original Adam knows, and the marina does too. Original: ITS A SCAM. We called, told to book online so we did. $300 for a private charter later, we showed up 15 minutes early and the marina said they hadn't seen the guy that runs this in over a week - hadn't even seen his truck at the dock at all today. We're alerting our bank, but beware - this isn't a real company listing. Phone number no longer works, it gives a busy signal that we showed to the marina employees who were just as confused as us. We're alerting our bank and flagging this account. read more

We had a wonderful day with Austin, who was an amazing fishing guide and host. Everything was top notch for our 10 yr old twins, who had a ball. So did the three adults. Absolutely recommend this charter fishing fleet and our guide Adam was the man....And we bag 3 good size trouts & lost several more... but it was well worth getting up early and doing the 6AM to 9AM private charter...for $300.00 Plus a little tip for our guy Adam. The boat was well-maintained with the latest fishing equipment and sonar detection to track the fish thus we are very successful with our catch for the day... just make sure to bring a jacket in the early morning because it's pretty chilly but it does warm up when the sun comes up.... We went on a week day for a day trip to take my dad and my husband to do some fishing. They haven't done lake fishing on a boat before and a family member suggested this place. It was a pretty relaxing three hours. Our captain Adam was really friendly and helpful. My son even caught a fish for the first time ever and he was so excited and got excited over fishing after this trip. We went late afternoon and it was windy but we managed to catch a few but released them as they seemed too small to keep. The boat is comfy and we had 7 people on the boat for just my family and still felt we had plenty of room to sit and fish. There is a cooler that Adam bought on board filled with snacks and drinks that he said we were welcomed to help ourself too. That was awesome since for some reason being on a boat always makes my family munch more. It was a good experience for all of us and it was so relaxing. Great time fishing with Adam. After reading Yelp reviews of various fishing outfits, we went with Big Bear Charter Fishing - glad we did. Adam is very personable and knowledgeable about fishing. He worked hard to help us catch as many trout as possible. He kept 5 lines in the water which helped us catch 20 small trout. They were too small to keep, so they were all catch and release which was fine by me. Adam allows the charter guests to do as much or as little of the work. My in-laws volunteered yours truly to be their fishing guide for the day in Big Bear. Considering I've caught a total of 5 fish on this lake in my lifetime, I decided to enlist some help. Captain Matt took my large group out on a last minute reservation. We fished mid morning and were warned that the bit was slowing down. We trolled towards the dam and Matt put us on the fish. We landed 9 rainbows! He was as professional as could be and even more polite. Fantastic time fishing on a cool September afternoon. Took the evening trip, from 4:30-7:30, and didn't catch many but we sure tried! Matthew was an excellent guide. He was very informative, patient and would not give up until we caught some fish. We ended up catching five trout, which was a decent amount for the two of us. I would definitely return and fish with this company again, maybe in the spring when the fish are biting better. Adam and Austin were our fishing guides, and they were so much fun. We caught 4 rainbow trout and lost 2 but overall we enjoyed delicious fresh fish for dinner. The kids had a blast and were asking to go again the next day. They taught us how to set the lines, tell when the fish bite and how to reel them in. They took care of everything with the fishing equipment, boat, bait etc. so we just needed to bring ourselves. They also gave great advice on where to eat and what to do in Big Bear. My boys went to bass fishing today for the first time. We were so excited! We are not super early morning people so being at the marina by 6 AM was a hustle! Well they say that the early bird catches the worm and it is definitely true that the early bird catches the fish! Shout out to Matthew who took us out for three hours this morning from 6 to 9 AM. My 16-year-old caught five fish and my 13-year-old caught two. We truly had an amazing morning and I highly recommend this company over any of the others that I have even heard of at big Bear Lake. They are the only ones that do bass fishing! Matthew showed us around the lake. We talked about wildlife and the different kinds of birds that were in the area. This is the fourth time we have used this company and I highly recommend it. We've gone out a few times with Adam and a few times with Matt, both were very personable. The boats are clean and well-maintained and we always left on time. They handled everything with the lines and the bait, but certainly let us participate in any means we wanted. They made the experience very pleasant for the adults and especially the kids. We have kids from elementary through high school and they all had a great time. On our best day we caught fourteen trout. Our groups of five and six were comfortable. Enjoyed the gorgeous scenery on the lake. Snacks and refreshments on the boat were an added bonus. The fish were cleaned and prepped for us when we left. And the barbecued trout was amazing when we got home and started cooking. Excellent trip! I was trying to decide between doing this charter or just renting a boat and going ourselves. I'm so glad we went with the charter. My two teenage boys and I went out with Matt and he was an excellent guide. Having an experienced guide plus everything taken care of was wonderful and so easy for us. Had a great time with three kids (ages 5, 7, and 10) and two moms, out on the boat. Once with Matthew and another time with Aaron. Both guys are extremely knowledgeable and friendly captians. Excellent place to fishing during summer. I went there with my friend during spring breaks but is not a good season to fishing during April, we get 3 fish bite but they all run away, 2 trouts and a big bass. Matthew is a very friendly and helpful guy, I decided to went to their again during summer break. Hope you guys enjoyed during summer. Don't go there until May was pass, we are the only boat who are fishing, I only saw 2 boats on the lake. Another tip, is if is snowing, don't go fishing( it probably don't have lots of snow during summer.) The fish won't came up and bite because is too cold, they want to stay on the bottom. read more
