Horrible experience working with this company. We purchased an above ground pool from them last year. When the pool was originally installed, the inlet and outlet lines were hooked up backwards. This caused the pool to sit for weeks without being able to run the pump. It cost us hundreds of dollars in extra chemicals to get the water cleared and stains off the liner once they finally came back and hooked it up correctly. The sand under the liner has huge divots in it that trap leaves and debris that our vacuum will not catch. The pavers that were thrown down on the ground for the pool equipment to sit on were all out of level, un-even, and looked horrible causing the pool equipment to be WAY out of level. Our heater and pump were placed backwards which left no access to the electrical cabinet of the heater to be able to wire it, which was also a code violation for electrical clearances. I had to redo the whole set up myself to correct it. The heater has also leaked so bad since new that it drops our water level over an inch a week. I recently scheduled service for the heater because it would not run and was invoiced $375 for the service call. Their tech was onsite for maybe 15 minutes. I called to complain about this invoice thinking that with all the issues we have had that they would credit this invoice for our troubles. The customer service I received on this call was the worst I have ever experienced. The young man that answered the phone sounded like a 18-21 year old kid. After getting no where with him I asked for his supervisor. He said he was the supervisor. I then asked for the owner of the company and he claimed to be the owner of the company also. I responded with "I highly doubt you're the owner of the company," and his response was "bet?" Whatever that means. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Installing a pool should be an exciting experience but with Pleasure Pools and Spas it's nothing short of miserable. read more

Very disappointed that I was asked to secure with a credit card an appointment for a service call for a part I I spent over $500 on less than 1 year ago that may or may not be broken and under warranty for. I have done business with this company for years and due to identity theft issues I will never give my card number over the phone. This is unfortunate for me so I will vent here that a business that can not make arrangements with know your regular customers will lose them. Here is the work done by the installers from Pleasure Pools and Spas in Davenport. This is a brand new pool- we had better expectations for the money we put into it. Besides this, the biggest problem is that the pool is not bonded or grounded, which our city electrical inspector told them was required. They knew about it and decided it wasn't necessary. Please avoid this company at all costs...they are not safe, refuse to fix their mistakes, tell us they will refund our money, but when we call them on it, they tell us they won't do anything at all and we'll have to take them to court to get any of this resolved. Status is not complete. Ordered a safety cover for my inground pool on August 30, 2022 being told the timeframe for the cover to be sent back to Pleasure Pools and Spa's facility 5-7 days after the manufacturer received my old cover as a template. We planned install to be the first week in October. I gave my cover to PPS September 5 to send out the following Wednesday. This would have the cover back to PPS the last week of September. On September 29 I was informed the cover was not in and could we reschedule the install to Oct 11 as the cover was to be delivered Oct 5. I approved the new install date and planned on closing my pool Oct 8. On Oct 8 halfway through the closing process I was emailed that they were going through the work for next week the previous day and found the cover had not arrived. Estimated shipping from the manufacturer is now Oct 20. At this point I had already cleaned, drained water out of the pool, and was removing water from the lines. With small children I need a temporary solution to the safety of my pool. PPS suggested a tarp with water weights be placed over the pool. They installed Oct 11, the tarp and weights did not stay in place for 24 hours. The tarp and half the weights are now in the pool. They have been informed of the tarp and weights. Have said someone will be out to fix but have not said when. read more

I bought a home that had a hot tub that was purchased from Pleasure Pools and Spas. I have been in the store many times to better understand how to take care of the hot tub. Every time I have been in there I have been treated with unbelievable helpfulness. All the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Today was the first time I was rudely treated by them. I had been in contact with them regarding a part for my vacuum for my above ground pool. (At this point I had taken my vacuum to them, he just wanted to make sure that was the only part I needed.) My understanding was they may or may not have this part in stock. I had been talking with someone through texting at this time. All I wanted to know was how much was the part and if they had to order it, when would it be in. I got no answers. So I called the office yesterday, left a message. He called me, left VM. I called back and he (Cody) was with a customer (first time I spoke with him regarding my situation). Left message for him to call me back. Still nothing, so I called him back, finally got him. How I understood it, he had no idea anything as far as what was going on with my vacuum. Now I have all the text from the previous guy, and he made it sound like all the service guys would know what's going on. Cody(service guy) said to me, they are very short handed, people are on vacations, etc. He said that the vacuum was his "LEAST PRIORTY". He could put it on the tester by later today, but it would cost me $35. That last guy I talked said nothing about a cost. I already told him exactly what part it was, I even sent him a picture of the part. But he insisted on seeing the vacuum. So end result. I will be picking up my vacuum with no part. I purchased a pool and had them install 1 year ago. While installing they cut our backwash hose and told us they would inform the store that we needed a new one free of charge. After the installation people left I instantly noticed a broken piece on the ledge of the pool (they had to know it was broke it was very obvious) I called the store they had me take a picture and send it to them then told me they could see it was broke but it was only a decorative piece I said I would still like it replaced. I had to drive to the store 1 hr away to get the new backwash hose wich they were never told about by the installation workers but they did not fight me they did give me a new one and I also got the decorative ledge piece. Then a couple days later I had water spraying out of the pump when it was running so I had to turn off pump until they could get here to fix that problem. Now just after 1 year I have a ton of sand all over the bottom of my pool and I was told I have a broken lateral. They said that this problem never happens with a pool this new but they still want to charge me a discounted price of $150 to come fix it or I can take it apart myself drive the piece 1hr away to the store buy the new lateral and buy new bags of sand. I can say the people I talked to at the store were friendly but I am NOT a happy customer and I will now look for a new place to purchase chemicals or any maintenance parts that are needed and will not deal with Pleasure Pools and Spas unless absolutely necessary. read more

We were looking for a robot pool vaccum. We have a 33' above ground. They picked out one that they said would work great for our pool so we purchased it. It was almost $1000. We spent a week adjusting it and messing with it trying to get it to work in our pool but it kept missing large sections of our pool. I called them twice in a week for suggestions but they really didnt have any, they just told us to bring it in. 6 days after we bought it we brought it back, they watched it work and said there was nothing wrong with it. I explained that I know there is nothing wrong with it it just isn't working for our pool and this is the one they recommended to us. They said they would have to charge us a 30% restocking fee if we tried to return it. So this was the one they recommended, they had no suggestions for things to try to get it to work and then wouldn't let us return it for full price. We are now stuck with a $1000 pool vaccum that doesn't clean our pool unless we want to lose $300 to return it. I so wish I had stuck with our usual pool store. read more

This place is a joke - Stay away!!! I was having a party at my house and wanted my pool stick tips replaced. I called Pleasure Pools and they said it would take 2 to 3 days. The party wasn't for 3 weeks so they had plenty of time. I dropped them off and stressed again I needed them for the party. Over 4 weeks later and many phone calls I got them. I talked to a few people there but mostly a woman who I think was the owner. No one ever sounded like they cared, never apologized. They have some guy from the outside do their billard work. Supposedly he went on vacation and when he came back he said he would have them in 2 or 3 days. A week later still no sticks and they had no way of contacting him other than leaving him a message. Finally when the stick were ready I went to pick them up and told them I have a $2,500 pool table and were unable to use it for my party. The guy there said I could have borrowed some of their sticks. That would have been nice for that other woman to offer that when I told her I had to have them for the party. Once again, she obviously didn't care. I will never do business with them again. read more

Bought a pool heater in December 2012. Had problems before warranty was up. I had repair people at my residence many times. The heater was very undependable. During the past 2 years they suggested for me to buy a new sand filter(did it), and a new pump (did it). Now that the heater doesn't work at all and all they have to say is sorry......... I only had a 1 year warranty. Over $2100 spent for what?! Not even 2 years old and garbage. read more

Never finished our pool liner install leaving wrinkles all over our steps.Even worse was they left all sorts of dirt and sand on our steps before installing the liner resulting in tons of bumps and sharp pieces under the pool liner that you can easily feel. Finally, for some additional work they quoted they tried to bill three times the amount quoted. Can not be trusted or even care. read more

I took in several water samples from my pool. I was told each time that I needed to fully drain my in-ground pool. (Note: I did not purchase my pool from them, but they were aware it was an in-ground pool.) I was told each and every time drain, drain, drain because of the calcium levels which they said would ruin my liner. So, eventually, I did what they recommended. YOU CAN'T DRAIN AN IN-GROUND POOL. IT RUINS THE LINER. The liner started shriveling right away and ripped. I called the business I purchased the pool from and they you NEVER, EVER drain an in-ground because it will ruin the liner. I went in and spoke with one of the owners on what I was told by their staff. He denied they would EVER say that...basically, calling me a liar. My pool hold 26,500 gallons of water. Trust me, I did not want to drain it because of the cost of refilling it. He didn't ask my name, say he was sorry...he took no responsibility for what he denied his workers had told me EACH time. He acted like he had no time for me and walked away as i WAS TALKING. i'VE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO RUDELY. IMO, I've compared my pool to those of Pleasure Pools and the quality of the product has no comparison mine being of better quality. I can handle a lot of things, but not rudeness, refusal to take responsibility for your staff, denying their staff would wrongly advise (I had no reason to life). They all need to take a class in dealing effectively with the community. read more

AVOID! There is absolutely NO pleasure in dealing with pleasure pools and spas. My family purchased an outdoor furniture set (4 pieces), umbrella and stand, and a gas fireplace. We should have known from the beginning that we had made an expensive mistake. Delivery was not made in the window given and no call received. No apology or explanation after taking time of work to meet them. When it was delivered the fireplace did and still does not function properly. After more than 15 calls, 8 messages, and 7 times speaking with someone it is still not resolved. We have basically given up after speaking with everyone up the chain. The cushions on the furniture are all now destroyed (shredded/ripped) and according to local furniture store it will cost $1,500 to repair. No excessive use or abuse and stored during winter. They were sat on maybe 15 times and now are useless. Again, no acknowledgement of issues/poor quality, no care for customer, no offer of help, .... I tell everyone I can about the horrible service and complete disregard for customer service after the sale at pleasure pools and spas. They frankly don't care once they have your money and will basically tell you that with their actions and words. Do not purchase anything from them. read more

I was a previous customer and was on the list to have a pool installed. It was on hold until my hot tub was in. I spoke with them and told them I was ready to continue with the pool plans and was told I would be contacted in the next week. Weeks went by with no call . I went into the business and they acted like they didn't even know me or care that I just bought a hotub. I asked them what was going on with the pool and why no one had called. They had no answer. They said it would be another 5 weeks. The part owner asked what was going on and I explained. There was no explaination or friendliness what so ever. I explained I was going to find another company for my pool. He stated that was fine because he had enough business anyway. They were now extremely rude and the customer service was horrible. After being a customer , you would think you would want to keep a customer which had both a pool and spa long term but I guess this is not their business practice. I started calling other companies and explained I have had a bad experience without disclosiing with what company. All 4 other companies I contacted said oh, they acted like they didn't even know you or remember that you have just spent good money on other merchandise, and they then said you must be talking about pleasure pools.
