There was a miscommunication; table different than we discussed. He said / she said, and I'm calm (though disappointed) and want to gather all the information... how long for re-order, how much cost difference for specs we wanted, is our deposit refundable, etc. I want to make an informed decision about how to proceed, and at this point we're less than 10 minutes into the conversation. The proprietor then starts yelling OUT OF THE BLUE and hits a 10. "Just take your money back and leave already. I've got things to do. I can't believe you're sticking me with this table." I explain I'm not, and in fact I'm likely to accept the table as is, but that his sudden demeanor/outburst gives me pause for doing business there. I remind him I'm the customer and I'm being very reasonable. "Customers are always the worst kind of people!" (Shouting this, mind you) Followed by a tirade of nonsense as we bee-line back to the car. I left, deposit in hand. He's out $562. The whole thing was so bizarre. Needless to say, I firmly believe this place should just be avoided. That guy is scaryyyyyy.

The most surprising thing is that the prices are better than what the big box stories have for their mediocre furniture. My husband and I recently purchased a second home on the east end of Long Island. Rather than…read morebuying furniture from a local furniture store, we ventured 5 hours west to Kurlancheek's. We thought that buying furniture "long distance" would be difficult and cumbersome. But Ronne made it so easy. We sent pictures of the house along with dimensions and spoke about what we were looking for in terms of specific pieces and our taste. We wanted "country comfortable" combined with a bit of modern and some fun funky pieces, as well. Ronne sent me pictures of her suggestions - which were wonderful. We were thrilled with the outcome - our house is filled with gorgeous furniture and the different "genres" all blend beautifully - from the huge, "squishy" chair in the family room to the industrial electric fireplace made of metal, concrete, and wood in the dining room - it's a showpiece. We ordered 3 bedroom sets as well and a kitchen set - every single piece is just perfect. Ronne picked out some funky end tables and cocktail tables for us and we are so happy with her choices. And, very affordable - such a great value for the quality. Delivery was also made easy, despite the distance - and the 2 guys who came to deliver were professional, friendly, and very helpful - we weren't sure where to put some pieces and they gave us some helpful suggestions and even moved some (very heavy) pieces several times so that we could see what they looked like in different areas - they even helped us set up the cable and internet (You can't ask for more than that). I absolutely would recommend Kurlancheek's to anyone who is shopping for furniture - whether it's just one piece, one room, or an entire house. Ronne turned furniture shopping from a dreaded chore into a pleasure. Caren D. Southold, NY
