It literally overtook the flavor of the doughnut. Secondly, unfortunately, the donuts were dry. Apple cider donuts are supposed to be soft, and moist in the middle, and they were just, well, dry in the middle. It definitely took away from the enjoyment of the doughnut. We ordered a blueberry pie and their cider donut bread pudding. The pie had a lattice top and was perfectly sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed it. They had the smallest blueberries in it and many were very much intact but not tart at all. Same for the bread pudding; my husband could tell that there was a fried component which made it super decadent, but it wasn't actually that sweet either! It was moist, nicely spiced with cinnamon, and the syrup that came with it enhanced everything. Color me impressed! The lights are placed only on the end of the branches which makes 'fluffing' the tree very difficult. Instead of stringing each branch from back to front and then front to back and on to the next branch the lights are strung to the next branch at the front of the tree.
