The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable and have gone out of their way to make my banking experiences efficient and accurate. It has happened almost every time I've spoken with a call center person, over many years.... I'm an amateur linguist and am good with accents. I engage them in conversation and find out where they are calling from. Huntington Bank should not be giving out our private information to people on the other side of the world. Think of how many places our information has to go through before it ever gets to a call center there: probably many. Those call center workers may not even have a security clearance. They have access to our names, address, phone number, bank account information, etc. 2 tellers, 1 supposedly a manager, adamantly denied this and another "manager" also denied it. I was told I'd wait only about 5 min. to talk with her, then she told me it'd be another 20 min., at least. When she finally spoke with me, she was very passive-aggressive and rude with me. I don't think she even understood I was against the sending our information to the other side of the world; I think she thought I was racist, which I'm not. I called the customer service while walking to my car and once again, got someone working in the Philippines. I went back in the bank and told the teller that I had a person on the phone in the Philippines, and the tellers and manager refused to talk with the person on the phone, therefore passively avoiding the issue. Classic. The manager continued to be passive aggressive and rude. She had no understanding of "customer service." Why didn't she say, 'I'm sorry, I didn't know that. Let me call head office and pass your comment along" or something similar? She also wouldn't give me the phone number for their corporate office (not Customer Service.) She and the other employees insisted their corporate office # that they call for staff issues is the same # as the Customer Service #. If that were true, then they would have been glad to talk with a representative. But they refused to. Talk about avoidance and failure to be transparent with their customers! I drive out of my way just not to go to that location because of their poor service.

I have been banking with the Madison for 16 years now. However, within the last 3 to 4 years, their service have declines they have become worse and worse, from blocking debit card purchases, to putting long holds on deposited checks. In the last year I have deposited six checks from my pension account. I have also been trying to setup direct deposit to my checking account, but every single time it comes back as declined by the bank. Spoke with my account rep and was told that credit unions are very difficult to work with for them as well. In order to setup direct deposit I needed to go to the branch and as for a letter with a code. Spoke with them at the branch, but they are absolutely clueless. Last week deposited one for 5,000. Get a notice there's a 2 day hold. Hold was supposed to release on 04/13/2026. Today, 04/14/2026, checked my account and the check hasn't cleared, called the branch and they told me that they had lost and prevention decided to add and extra 7 day hold. Last check I deposited was for 10,000 same thing they put a 7 day hold on the check as well. Today, I am told the reason why the extra days hold is because they have never seen a check from my account before. These are all lies, as I said I have deposited the same check, same account within the last year 6 times. Every time you call to speak with someone you get a different story. And they won't release the hold either. As of today, I've decided it is time to move on from the IMCU and close it out. The second my check cleared I am closing the account for good. Open an account with this institution if you want all your purchases to be blocked and your expect your deposited checks to have extended holds as they please.
