Hands down the best pizzeria in Rahway. I live up north but work here and they are my favorite. I've tried all the other ones and I can't find pizza better than plum! Seriously. The quality of their cheese for starts is second to none. Their pricing is great for what you get. Service is always on point. Plum Tomato is the best in town. It is a family business. The owner is Italian and speaks Italian and is very nice (as was his dad), the sauce is phenomenal and the pizza is delicious. Authentic Italian cuisine.My go-to place. Delivery is decently timed. Update: new menu, new prices. A bit high for some items. But I still stick w my original claim that this pizza is the real deal. Hit or miss with the food. Cheesy garlic bread was ok in flavor but not really all that great. And I ordered fried eggplant pizza and it was like thick grilled sliced all over the pizza. Honestly, this is the best all around pizza place here in Rahway since Rahway Pizza closed down a few years ago. The owner and cook are nice, the pizza is good and budget friendly, and the spaghetti is great! I can't really comment on the delivery though because I've never ordered it. I just recommend not getting a dessert. Last trip I came with the family, they gave us a hard cannoli that probably was store bought. Besides that, great pizza place. read more

I ordered Cheesesteak w no mushrooms and buffalo wings, well done, for delivery. Showed up on time and still super hot. Cheesesteak was so good, bread was good. Chicken wings made my mouth on fire. They were good. They gave me blue cheese w them which I never use. I also got celery which is usually my favorite bonus of getting wings but there were about 5 sticks, most were the white pieces of celery. Best pizza in Rahway. Their garlic knots are awesome. As a testament to their success and reputation, when I participated in a parade all the way down in Wildwood back in high school as part of the Marine Corps JROTC, instead of shouting "Rahway!" or "Oorah!" when we marched by, someone simply shouted "Yeah, Plum Tomato!!" I recently ordered the pepperoni pizza and garlic knots for delivery and the first thing I noticed when I opened the box, the pizza was very unevenly cut. First time trying this place as I just moved to the area and I'm glad I did. I got baked zitti and a side of broccoli. The ziti had a good amount of cheese and it wasn't burnt like i've had from other places. The sauce was yummy as well. The broccoli was fresh and not mushy. What does this say about a place?... For my birthday, my boyfriend asked what I wanted to do, or where I wanted to go eat, etc. I could have said anything and we would have done it. I got the Tortellini Alfredo (with spinach) which was not only a creamy decadent wonderland of goodness, but it'll actually be 3 meals. He loves the wings (crispy and a good size, lots of meat), and we got garlic bread loaded with cheese. Portions and add-ons are generous. Also, years ago I went to 4-5 pizza places asking about a food concern when I found out my son had some food allergies. All of them honestly told me their food would be a problem, and so did Plum Tomato, but they ALSO added that they could change their method to accommodate him if I called a day or two in advance. No one else offered that (I didn't think to ask because I'm not familiar with the process, but Plum Tomato offered). No need to go anywhere else once you've gone here. read more

First, the address and website listed is NOT for Plum Tomato in Rahway. This used to be known as Papa Vitos, but changed ownership about a year ago. Food is excellent for a pizzeria. Especially good is the Grandma Pie - better than anywhere else I've had it. NY style pizza, and the usual fare found at this type of restaurant. Not fancy, but satisfying. Set in back of a small shopping Plaza off of St. Georges Avenue, it's hard to miss if you don't know about it. Ordered online linguine with white clam sauce, chicken Parmesan and a basic turkey sub. The turkey sub came with everything on it that I excluded in my notes. Super soggy just plain sloppy. Chicken parmigiana came with a basic spaghetti with sauce. The chicken parmigiana was nasty you can taste the oil that they fried the chicken in and the pasta ehhhh super bland. The linguini with white clam sauce came in a container that was spilling all over. That pissed me off. Next the pasta had the most water down clam sauce that had absolutely no taste! It went straight from tasting it once to the garbage can. The garlic bread we ordered was not garlic bread. It was bread with chunks of garlic and who knows what else. Horrible. The only reason why I'm giving it a two rating is because the garlic knots were good and so was the tiramisu. I value honest and true reviews on Yelp when choosing the restaurant to feed my family . after reading the mostly great reviews & after experiencing mostly disappointments with other places i was excited to try this place well, sorry to say this was one of the worst. ordered plain pie(best way to tell how good & tasty a pizza is to skip toppings) & eggplant parm sandwich delivered about 10 mins late which is not a biggie but when you add on the fact that the pizza was a bit overcooked & more importantly you needed a magnifying glass to see the sauce--see pic you'll notice not a drop of sauce or oil on my plate even though this was the 3rd slice. Sandwich just as dry & very light flavor(maybe because no sauce?) Prices comparable to other places but sorry no sauce & no taste = "no mas" Maybe they had a bad day &/or a substitute cook but since I have a list of another 5 or 6 places to try this place will not get my business again read more

I have had the pizza at Plum Tomato on a few occasions , sometimes good,others not. It's never been the same , so i'm assuming whoever makes it on a given day, it tends to vary . Today,,,,I decided to try the raviolis . Well,,,,,when i got them home,, i discovered that they were very delicious, however,,,that was after i added spices and vodka sauce.
