I'm a huge fan of Plum Tomato's pizza! Delicious, thick crust, and the perfect sauce/cheese/toppings ratio. Highly recommend their penna pasta pizza - THE BEST in the area. Their medium pizzas are a good size for 2-3 people. Delivery is always on time, and with great service from their delivery drivers. Flavor of the food was as expected but the pasta vodka was mushy as was the chicken parm and the garlic knots and the salad wasn't great nor was is visually appealing. We order all the time always very happy with the food. Today we had massive flooding and of course I pulled apart my stove to clean it. I called around 6 before it got too bad and was surprised they would still deliver to Colonia. These poor guys tried probably 3 times. Plum Tomato pizza is on the list of pizza places you must try if you are in Rahway. If you are looking for a doughy pizza then this is the place for you. It's a delicious pizza on the doughier side but I would still recommend. The rice balls were good with a nice meat filling inside. I ordered 4 pies and antipasto salad , the only disappointment was the BBQ pie it's hardly any cheese and so much minced bbq chicken it was disgusting. I usually freeze the leftovers bout after my husband ate one slice he had me throw it out. He said the crust was hard , hardly any cheese and so much bbq chicken it was terrible.. This has quickly become our new favorite pizza spot to order from. Their Grandma pie is so delicious! I'm not typically one to order plain pizzas but their sauce and dough is just perfection. It's seasoned perfectly, not too salty or sweet, and it's never burnt, just perfectly cooked! We've only done delivery, I think it's a small place a pizza shop to take out or do delivery. We've yet to try much more because we fell in love with the Grandma pie. Last order we added a calzone. We weren't as blown away by it, but it was good to try something different. We'll have to try one of their other pizzas soon!! read more

This is definitely my go to place for sandwiches. The prices are very good for good hearty food. The workers are generally friendly too - pretty important to me. The place can be updated though because upon entering you may think to yourself, "Do I really want to eat here?" The answer to that question is YES. We have been here a few times now, mostly for the Fresca pizza. That slice is literally one of my favorite pizza slices of all time, like from anywhere. And I have lived in the NYC area most of my life. It's the perfect slice, without cheese. It has tomatoes, zucchini, onion, and mushrooms on a layer of sauce on top of a pan pizza crust. It is absolutely delicious, flavored perfectly and tastes amazing. A great hack: get this as a pie with cheese or with a side of extra marinara to dump on top (note: I love red sauce). Ordered online for a pick-up without much trouble. Garlic knots were small and not particularly flavorful. Meatballs were nice and big, but were stewed too long and had next to no flavor. We tried the deluxe pizza, and there was a lot going on. The pizza itself was huge, and cut into 8 slices there was never even a chance these slices were going to be able to hold all the toppings. This week we tried Plum Tomato Pizzeria & Restaurant in Rahway, NJ. What did we order? A Margarita pie, of course. (Yes, we are still looking for those amazing Margarita pies in NJ!) We ordered other items as well but if you've been following us it's all about the Margarita. We went with a large version and we were very impressed with the large pie when we opened the box. The fresh mozz was spaced apart nicely to reveal the sauce (impressive!) it was definitely made with a food processor; grinding down the tomatoes to make a nice sauce overall; natural ingredients that complimented the fresh basil and fresh mozzarella. Why only three stars? The crust. I have to say, we were very disappointed with it. It did not have a fresh taste; very dry. The best part of this pie was the sauce which really saved it. We almost wonder if the pie was a thin crust and crispy would that do it? Because we ordered a larger version this may have played a part in creating a thicker drier crust? Basically, try the smaller version if you order their Margarita. We also ordered their mixed salad (fresh!) and an Italian sub (pretty good) The interesting part...their bread was fantastic. During super bowl Sunday, I ordered a large cheese pie and 24 bone in wings. 12 to be honey barbecue and the other 12 mild, with sauce on the side and extra ranch. The girl taking my order over the phone seemed like she wasn't paying attention to my order because I legit repeated myself at least 7 times. Then she re-iterated my order and finally got it correct. So when I went to pickup the food they said they couldn't find our order and that I never placed an order with them. 10 mins later they find the order.. before leaving I double checked and saw 24 mild wings with the sauce on them. Why? I went back to the girl and told her this was incorrect she looked at me with so much certainty and said yes that's what you ordered. I told her no, I repeated my order once again and they re did it. I finally get my order and I just leave without checking. At this point I'm fed up because not only did I have to wait to have my food found ... but the girl pretty much called me a liar to my face. Whatever- I get home starving and hangry to find my wing order was still wrong. They gave me 12 bbq and 12 mild with the sauce on them, with no extra ranch. Instead they gave me extra mild sauce on the side and blu cheese. Look, I understand it was a busy day because of the game and all ... but you have one job and it's to take my order. After messing it up a few times the least you could've done was double check but no. I'm so disappointed, I'm never ordering from them again. read more

How disappointing! I know this is just a pizza place, but I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. I got the chicken bianca (penne, broccoli, chicken, cheese, cream sauce) and it was the most tasteless meal I've ever had. The pasta was overcooked, the mozarella was incredibly hard and chewy, which means it was either going off or really, really cheap quality cheese. My husband ordered a garden salad that came sweaty, soggy, and had a lump of shredded cheese thrown on top of it. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the delivery came relatively quickly.
