The dispatcher called shortly before 10AM to confirm we we home and said the technician would arrive shortly. The technician arrived promptly, and proceeded to extract 20 feet of root from the drain, then did a high pressure flush to clean the remaining dirt. He accomplished the whole job in an hour and a half. He was polite, efficient, competent, and very skilled. The fee was very reasonable, compared with the alternative of digging up our lawn replacing the pipe. We also received a senior's discount! Thank you Roto Rooter Parksville. They advised that they could send a plumber on Monday morning and so began the planning process for a few waterless days - no tea, no showers, no dishwashing, no laundry... A few minutes later Roto-Rooter called about a cancellation. Did I want a plumber now, Ok he is on his way. He arrived shortly thereafter, evaluated the situation, arranged deliver of a shiny new hot water tank, completed the installation, removed the old tank and departed at about 4:00 pm.
