Terrible experience Be aware !!!! Service provided by this company to replace garbage disposal. Bill did not reflect price of garbage disposal or hourly labor fee. I was charged $651.99. There is not any indication on bill the amount of time spent replacing item. Research shows Home Depot charges $117.54 for the exact garbage disposal installed. Replacement occurred on 4/1626. I contacted this company on 4/30, 5/1 twice and 5/4 three times. I was informed by Chris that $651.99 included 50% was for the job to be done I.e. material, tools; 40% stays in the business I.e. insurance coverage, tech experience, training, and background check; 10% is the goal of the company i.e. goes to company profit. The best I was offered was a 10% discount. After speaking to 2 plumbers they both indicated how outrageous the charge for a simple replacement of a garbage disposal was. This service I was charged took at most an hour to an hour and a half which is not reflected on the invoice. No arrival or departure time noted. A one year warranty was given at time of service. The technician showed up in timely manner. That is only positive. Our kitchen faucet barely had water flow. That is why I called. The technician changed the valves under the sink. Pre -authorized fee $566.98. That did not fix the problem. He took off the faucet. That was the problem. Once faucet was taken off. I felt as though he had us over a barrel. He said he had a faucet on his truck. It was a Moen. Good brand. He had us authorize a fee of $1082.99. He installed he faucet and it works great. Get this. Total charge for about 1 hour. $1,649.97. Watch out. You are better off calling a local plumber. I am a service connected 100% disabled veteran. I did not deserve this. No-one does. I can only hope that employees of Plumbing Nerds have a service company charge them a ridiculous amount of money for a service. read more

I called because my AC was not cooling. I was a Nerd pass member, which I came to find out, has no perks. No one available for "emergency" services. I got AC to work and scheduled appointment for later date. Since they do not accommodate working people, I had someone at my house when they came. Tech stated AC was covered in "black mold" and all the coils would need to be cleaned. He gave me a price. He also told me my dual run capacitor was going and I should replace it. I agreed, without knowing why or what the part was, so that's on me. I was working and didn't have time to go over everything. When I got home I was surprised to see my bill was over $1,000. I also learned the coils could only be 70% cleaned and it would be another $2,000 to totally clean them. This was after my 10% discount for being a "member". I was also charged $460 to clean out a condensate pump. This pump was added after AC installation and sells for $150. It is 6 years old. Why not recommend a new pump? Why would I invest $460 into a 6 year old pump? When I called a "manager" to complain about the charges he tried to tell me the pump sells for $1200. A quick google search proved him wrong. In the end he agreed to "refund" me $125, which was the credit I had with the company for prepaying maintenance on my "Nerd pass". I have tried to take this to another level but they have not returned my calls. Do not recommend this company. Do not trust them! read more

Had Gavin come out 10/30/25. Gave me an estimate for two toilet flanges which seemed quite high so negotiated a lower amount without knowing what a competitive price should be. Work was done OK but did not take long at all. Found out from another plumbing company later that day that my negotiated price was still quite high. I had plumbing nerds come out to flush my water and replace a old sink faucet with a new one. The guy came out and gave me sales pitch how water heaters don't last longer than 10 years and I should probably replace. My heater is not even 10 years old.... Just flush it please. Now to the kitchen sink faucet the plumber told me it would be $529 to install the new faucet. Say what?! I asked how long that would take he said about an hour. So I am providing the product and parts and his labor per hour is $529! Crazy. I got a licensed and bonded local plumber(not franchised like plumbing nerds) to do it in 20 minutes for $150. Don't use this franchised plumbing company they will totally rip you off and try to sell you something you don't need. read more

I was charged almost $2,000 for a 40-gallon Rheem water heater, including installation. I admit that I was in a hurry for hot water and didn't do any comparison shopping on the web. After the fact, I found that the Rheem 40-gallon Professional water heater sells for about $400 at Home Depot, excluding installation. Consumer Reports says that 40-gallon water heaters should cost between $400 - $600 excluding installation. I called to complain, and they said they sold a higher quality product (with the same name??) and that I approved some enhancements in the installation. Then I got a lecture on overhead, profit margins, superior techs, etc.. No matter how you slice it, $2000 is Waay too much for a 40-gallon water heater. Invoice #150262412 I was lied to. Your technician said my garbage disposal didnt work and was uninstalled by me and i just needed him to install a new one (provided by me). Also said he provided a platinum option. Reality: In trying toing to fix my clogged disposal with the s-tool I inadvertently disengaged it. I asked the tech to fix it my current disposal. He didnt even try that option and insisted that I had to replace it with a new disposal that I had purchased at home depot only as backup. And by the way what are the options that he did not inform me of? Platinum? Bronze? Silver??????? No options were explained....tell me now. I need to know. What options?? You have choices. I can get back to my Neighborhood website which had good reviews for you (and is why i chose you) and contact everybody to post updated negative reviews. And I can go to your website and post the same. I can contact my bank and dispute the charges. Or you can take ownership of your actions and respond accordingly. I used to be able to fix or repair anything. 42 years auto master tech. Now handicapped I have to rely on paid "Pros" to do repairs. I called plumbing nerds for an estimate to replace a leaky tub faucet. By my est this would take 2 hours. They gave me an estimate for $1289 to replace this faucet. I have learned that Naples is saturated with crooks that think everyone here is dumb n rich. When i asked what that covered I was told "replace the faucet". Where do I begin. The people from Plumbing Nerds have been at my home a few times. They put in a new water filter for my home years ago. As time goes on I had them come for various things. Due to random black in my water, Plumbing Nerds insisted that I had to have my whole house repiped. I have since learned they were wrong. The issue was a defective water pressure tank, leaking black randomly throughout the house and water filters Again, no overhaul needed to the pipes- omitting a costly $8,000.00 dollar job that wasn't necessary. But my worst experience was when they came for two reasons; one to inspect a hot water tank to determine it was properly installed for a new insurance company. Plumbing Nerds put the cost of this at $895.00 just to make that determination. I ended up paying nothing. I also wanted to replace a valve in my shower. The concern I had was that I didn't want to damage the dated tile in the bathroom. For this task they wanted $1,400.00 and couldn't guarantee they wouldn't damage the tile. When a friend called during their visit, he insisted that I not use them due to the excessive pricing. I eventually had a decent plumber come through. Not only did he charge me only $415.00, he replaced the valve by going through the wall from another room. What a concept... read more

Don't use this company. They're quick "to come to the rescue", give a low quote ($630) and "start" the job, but they don't finish it. We had to pay them half ($330) of the quoted price just to get a new appointment for them to return and finish the job. Two days later, their employee returned late in the day, but couldn't start working until he called the office for the "new" quote ($3800) in order to complete the same job. Do not use if you are planning to make an insurance claim! My water heater was damaged after Hurricane Ian. I called the Plumbing Nerds to replace it on a Friday (having used them successfully before) and they came out on Saturday to take a look. They gave me a quote which was expensive but, I assumed, reasonable, given the size/type of water heater (80Gal Rheem Professional), the work involved (new stand, new WH, updated piping, hauling away old WH and stand, etc) and the post-Hurricane Ian supply and demand issues. They were able to replace it on the Monday. So far so good. I subsequently submitted the Plumbing Nerds invoice to my insurance company for reimbursement and they pushed back, asking for a breakdown of materials and labor. Fine, I thought. I called Plumbing Nerds to ask for this. I was told that they would escalate to management and call me back. Nothing. I called again...same thing. And again...same thing. I have called now 5 or 6 times and can only speak to the call center people. No one has called me back and no detailed invoice has been produced. The only thing I can assume is that the price was so exorbitant they are unable to produce an invoice. Now I am stuck with a $5K+ invoice which insurance won't cover. It's unfortunate because prior to this I was happy with the Plumbing Nerds but I can no longer recommend them, at least not if you are planning on requesting a reimbursement from your insurance company read more

I had a high water bill and call the Plumbing Nerds. It was a bad flapper in one toilet. It was recommended that I replace both toilets for about $1500, or just the insides or just the flappers. Replacing the two flappers was $306. I said that it was too expensive. He told me that he is a certified, licensed plumber and is worth this fee. We called this company and they sent somebody out, however they didn't resolve the issue. They tried their snake, this didn't resolve the issue, they took a deposit of $500 to do the water jet the next day, this they guaranteed to fix our issue, it did not. Their guy let water run over our hardwood floors and put towels down, the towels were wet and now the seams have spread on our floor. We called to get our money back because after two days it was apparent they couldn't get the job done, the manager said they would give the money back, but instead took out the additional $500. So, in addition to them lying about giving our money back, they ruined our floor. The guy came over a two day period of time, never showing up when they said he would be here. Our kitchen was left in shambles because of this company. Then they fraudulently took $501 more out of our account. The $1001 is a small price compared to the floor we now will have to replace! We are considering suing. We called a different plumber the next day, he resolved the issue, without any drama. The company we called was Mike's Plumbing, he used an old-fashioned snake, resolved our issue within 2 hours, but more importantly knew what he was doing. read more

WE needed a plumber and I asked around. Someone said Plumbing Nerds. Then I heard and ad for them on the radio. Very professional. After answering some questions about the problem, the customer service asked if I wanted the tech to wear a mask. Then said they would call about 1/2 hour before arriving. They did. They also sent an email with a picture of the tech who would be coming. The tech was wonderful. Explained everything he was doing. Showed me the work he was doing, took pictures of it all. When they emailed the receipt, they included the pictures of before and after the repair. Left everything very clean and neat. read more

They offered to send someone over that day or whichever day was convenient for me. I asked for the following day and two technicians were at my door that morning. We had an excellent experience with Plumbing Nerds this week. We had a situation with a clogged toilet which may not seem like an emergency, but we had our children and grandchildren arriving the next day! I sent a Yelp request for an estimate and had John respond within ten minutes of my request. After exchanging information he told me he could have someone out that afternoon. They sent appt confirmation and told me we would get 45 minute notice of tech's arrival, which we did. Eddie B arrived and immediately discussed the problem with us both for a short term solution but also shared so much helpful information about what we should do to replace our toilet (he verified it was original to house - 1969!) and check out pipes and sewer system. We have had no issues for the last ten years of our ownership and do not know when it was ever last looked at. We could not have been more impressed with Eddie and his expertise and recommendations. We will move forward soon (after visitors!) with getting things repaired/checked out and will call on the Plumbing Nerds to do the work. Thanks Eddie! read more

No complaints about the quality of the work, but the cost was over the top! I had a 38 gallon water heater replaced at a cost of almost $1800, and that was after a 10% discount and a $25 coupon. The same water heater sells for $559 at Home Depot. Throw in a hardwire connection, a new pressure relief valve and some connection fittings and a galvanized drain pan, and one hour labour (one plumber, one helper).......this install shouldn't have been any more than $1300 at most! When I finally got the receipt by email, after having to phone twice, I noticed a charge of $85.32 for "annual NERD pass". When I called to let them know that I neither requested, needed or wanted that, and it was never explained to me when they quoted the job, they told me that they could refund that, but that they would have to remove the 10% discount, which would result in my owing another $55. Wait.......WHAT!!!! Definitely would not recommend The Plumbing NERDS to anyone. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. First, I made an appointment a WEEK in advance to hook up a sink and faucet, for 10 am. They did not show but did call and say they would be here in the afternoon. Then they called and said they would be here after 5 pm. Then they called after 7 pm and said they weren't coming. They only came the next day because I lost my temper with them.. It was supposed to be a simple job, new sink, new faucet. My wife calls me and says the technician tells her it may cost $1200. He finally says its ONLY $800. Sales ploy?? The tech was apparently a "nice guy" so I will give him credit for that. When the Nerds called asking if I was satisfied, of course I told them I wasn't. I was told by the person who that she would check with the boss to look into the pricing, and she would get back to me. its been a month, I am still waiting.
