My bride & I returned a few nights after the online debacle to seriously give the place a try. The space is a former custom framing shop (which I once used to get my professional license matted and framed) in a nondescript metal building. Upon arriving, we noticed someone come to the door to unlock it. I get it since the parking lot is dark and the building isn't well lit. Good idea to keep it locked after dark until a customer gets there if you ask me. Coney Island - it's a pastrami sandwich, but with american cheese and on a hoagie roll - delicious. It's what they didn't have that I found somewhat disappointing. The deli case seemed nearly bare, and there was no pepperoni for my bride's 6th Avenue. We opted for another meat instead. There was also no Gabilla Knish. This got me to wondering if showing up later in the evening is a bad idea due to food running out for the day or we just picked a bad night, or they were waiting on deliveries. In any event, we enjoyed the food. Plumpeez could very easily compete with Jimmy John's as far as flavor and freshness of the sandwiches, despite JJ's seeming to have a little more variety for condiments and sandwich extras. It's worth not having to drive to JJ's in Brier Creek, RTP or anywhere 15-20 miles away and just go over to Plumpeez for some similar sandwiches. They will deliver, but only for a $40 minimum order, and a 15% gratuity will automatically be added to the delivery order. Nice addition to Butner. read more

Drove over to Butner to try the place out. It's a little hidden and I drove by it the first time. During covid they are doing call in orders and curb side delivery. I called in and ordered the Court Street. The employee was pretty vague, didn't ask for a name or give a time for how long it would take. I waited for nearly thirty minutes for my sandwich. During that time I saw no one else come to get food and saw one employee leave and comeback. I think he made a delivery run. When he returned he checked on me. He ran right inside and got my food and threw in a bag of chips on the house for my wait. Really nice guy and personable. The sandwich itself was delicious. The bread was fresh and soft and the sandwich was stuffed with tasty meat and fresh veggies. I will definitely stop in again if in the area, just hope I don't have to wait 30 minutes for a sub. read more

We stopped at Plumpeez while driving through the area. We pulled into the parking lot and were immediately greeted and given some menus. Ordering and curbside delivery was easy and efficient. Great little sandwich shop! They only do take out orders and have two picnic tables to sit at. We just parked the car and a young man ran out with a menu. They have 26 different sandwiches, which any can be turned into a wrap or salad. My husband got the Jay St ( it was huge, at least a foot long) and I got the Cobble Hill which I turned into a wrap. Both were delicious! If you're traveling on 85 and want something other than fast food I definitely recommend this place. read more

Me and my girlfriend went to Plumpeez To order two subs. First off let me say the customer service is great coming from the oldest guy. The second boy that had glasses customer service wasn't bad, but could use more work. Now let's talk about the sandwiches he bread are extremely hard and too thick and there was NOT enough meat in my sub. Very dry! My gf sub was the same too much thickness of the bread dry and she did not get all her toppings. This was my first time and last time coming. Over charging for little meat/dry and thick bread that was slightly hard. read more

Me and my family were driving through Butner on a road trip back when we decided to pull over for lunch. We pulled up sandwich shops and found the one with the best reviews and soon realized why. The New York style deli is in a small location right behind the Valero gas station but packs the perfect sandwich for some with a big appetite! The business owners are friendly and polite. We all ordered from the Italian section in the menu and was left absolutely satisfied. I am so glad I found this gem on Yelp! My sandwich (Surf Ave) was incredibly tasty and cost less than it should! The soft, fresh bread served as a perfect base for the sliced to order Boar's Head cold cuts and veggies. My husband, who neglected to order a sandwich of his own, quickly regretted his decision not to order anything as soon as he tried a bite (or 4) of my yummy Surf Ave sub! Even better than the food itself were the owners! My husband and I were delighted with the kind, personal, and thankful couple that took care of us during our visit. Great sandwich shop. Hard to find and next to a Subway, but definitely worth finding if you're in Butner. Along with Boar's Head meats and cheeses they have great bread.
