It is also our belief that Skyline used our deposit to pay supplier bills that were unrelated to our roof and contract. We terminated the contract after the demand for more money and hired another roofing company because we had a deadline by which if the roof was not done or homeowners insurance company would cancel our policy. Skyline was unable to meet the deadline without more money from us because, we believe, they spent our deposit money on Other, unrelated expenses. In a written and signed settlement contract, Skyline agreed to refund our deposit in four payments. Skyline made one payment and miss the next one that was due, thereby notifying the agreement. We are planning to file suit this week.

We like to work with local small businesses whenever possible. We had worked with Jaime in 2021 on…read moreanother garage door replacement and decided to call on him again. On January 31, 2024 we paid a $2k deposit towards a garage door and opener replacement. It was a special order so Jaime said it would take up to 10 weeks for installation. We had to keep reaching out to get status reports and to finally set a date for installation in April. The day of installation they were a no-show. Jaime told us the garage door was stolen from the warehouse and a rush order was placed for a replacement that should arrive by May 28th. Then Jaime said the warehouse had no power and they could not tell us if the door had arrived. We requested a refund and he told us the check was mailed on June 28th. It is now AUGUST and we have not received delivery/installation or a refund. Needless to say, we feel swindled. Jaime abused our confidence, lied and cheated us out of our hard earned money. We filed a complaint with the BBB and if that doesn't work to get a refund from Jaime, then we will proceed with a small claims court case. Note that when we dug deeper into it, he uses misdirection (multiple business names: AJ's By Design Garage Door Services (Previously Garage Door Guys Of Houston) or also Jaleloco LLC). Address listed in his emails is not valid (it's a storage facility). The warehouse facility he told us was responsible for all the issues, National Door Centers Inc, does not appear in any searches in Houston TX. We had not checked all this before because we had worked with him in the past and trusted him. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
