I've been interested into checking out PROCAM but was tainted by negative experiences I've had at…read moreother camera stores where the staff just seem to look down on anyone who isn't already a professional but the social media posts for their PROCAM Days weekend caught my attention and I figured that getting in with a big crowd would be the best time. In addition to sales and trade in promos they were having some speakers put on classes one of which gave me an even more solid reason to stop by. It's a big store with an impressive amount of photography equipment and just about every big brand and even some smaller ones represented. The photo processing and studio in the back kind of make it an ideal all-in-one location for all things photography related. They had plenty of helpful staff on hand to help out the crowd of people in the store at the time but the majority of customers clearly knew what they were talking about and what they were looking for. I would be interested to see how the staff are on regular business days but they did seem very friendly throughout all of my interactions. The back studio area where the class/presentation was held is an impressive size. I could see how it could be useful for a number of situations. All in all this was a great introduction to the shop and hopefully I'll be able to visit more often in the future.

What I noticed within the first few minutes, is that the staff in here are super knowledgeable. This is not ideal for someone looking for speedy fast service. What you'll find here is trustworthy, thorough, and detailed advice and expertise. Expect to be patient with wait times. They also have a studio space that can be rented by the hour for photo shoots. The only reason I have 4 stars is because I was hoping they'd offer more money for my camera. I will be back!

The best part was the genuine family oriented organization it is from students to studio owner they truly care about each and every student and their goals and progress. It's a long trip for me to come to Steps from Chicago, where I spend the rest of my time working with my professional dance company Chicago Repertory Ballet, and the reason why I make the trip every week is because the students are polite, hard working and focused, and my colleagues are hard working, passionate professionals. I think Steps Dance Center works hard to offer professional, top notch training while still working to create a caring environment that is student focused. The lack of communication and response to questions about your childs status is deplorable. The conditions of the dorms are unmaintained, dingy and ramshackled. After you fill out the application (excessive) you need to wait until a week before school starts to see if your child made the list, leaving parents and kids in a fog as to where they stand. How the director of Admissions hasn't been fired is beyond me. The admissions process lacks organization and is in total chaos. We were excited about introducing our child to an independent atmosphere, however after experiencing the "shadow day" and disorganized process we decided this wasn't a great fit. There are separate living facility for transgender students, which seems to be the trend on this campus. Due to lack of structure, deceiving parents by giving false hope we declined this opportunity. The tennis courts are not operable and IMSA lacks sports. Volunteer hours are excessive and your child will be be on a self-directed learning curve (minimal involvenment of teachers). If you cant make it to an appointment then get ready to be charged extra no matter what! It cost way more than we initially agreed to but we felt obligated to finish the "program". The word program is in air quotes because more than half of it is just watching outdated videos that my son could hardly stay awake to. The other half was 1 on 1 counseling sessions that didn't help at all since the guy just sounds like everything he's ever heard from me. My son relapsed during treatment so even after completing everything Tools for Life unsuccessfully discharged him and reported that to his P.O. even after paying everything in full. Surely that was punishment because we refused to sign up for more. Don't be fooled. Try to get real help elsewhere for less.
