However, after talking with several friends and associates, who had rented homes before selling, I became fairly certain I would rent the property for two years and then sell. My thought was that income from renting would help pay for renovations of the home before sale and for the expense of moving to my new location. If the property sold within three years after I first moved out, I would be protected from considerable capital gains taxes. With this in mind, I decided to work with an agent who could seamlessly switch from property management to seller's agent. During the several months, when I was updating and renovating the property, the real estate market fell into greater turmoil than it had already been in. Once again, I changed my mind and decided to just sell. After dickering somewhat extensively with one set of potential buyers, I finally told Dave that, if those potential buyers wanted a further concession of so much as one penny (I made it clear I MEANT exactly this), he should not tell me. All I wanted to hear from him in that case was, "The house is going back on the market. What we need to discuss is whether to put it back for sale or rent. Given these circumstances, it was likely clear to the buyer's agent that he (Dave) would lose nothing, if the house were rented and then later sold. The buyer's agent, however, would also know they would only get a commission if the house were sold. Dave Marvin's professional, knowledgeable, and cool head as well as his expertise as both a property manager and a selling agent made the experience of selling the house seamless. I highly recommend Dave Marvin of Marvin Gardens, Longmont, CO, as an agent for the selling, buying, or the renting of a property.

As a millennial, I've done my fair share of cohousing situations and I think that the way that they navigate roommate changes and repairs has been as seamless as possible. There's been a lot of odds and ends work that needed to be done on the property that I lived in and they were always prompt to send out a repair person within 24 hours of a request being sent. They would even follow up with us when we may have let a contractor slip through the cracks. I highly recommend them and all their staff has been nothing but courteous and kind. Claire was my specific point of contact and whatever they are paying her isn't enough for how hard that girl works. She doesn't miss a beat and always makes times for tenant questions or concerns. Upon initial interactions with my short term (1 month rental) the process seemed friendly enough, LOTs of emails, background check, docusigns and additional ADMIN fees not part of the original listing; just to stay in an apartment for 1 month(while I was looking for a long term place). Looking back I should have just used Airbnb to make it more seamless... Upon extension of my short term lease, I was stuck in a tough situation where I needed to make an unforeseen change to my short term lease, less than 24 hours after signing. I promptly contacted Fox Management to clearly explain and asked to make an addendum to the lease. I was met with absolutely zero flexibility, a complete lack of empathy, ignored emails, ignored phone calls, unreturned voice messages, absolute disregard for people transitioning into new living situations from Tiffany and Ross. Management cited "we're a business we have to do what is best for our business" and "we are too busy, we'll look at that later". Fox Property management touts.... "smooth, thoughtful, guest centered operations" "bringing a sense of ease, comfort, and care into every stay".... I was met with the complete opposite from the short term management team. I can wholeheartedly say that this company has zero interest in helping you have a smooth experience, and is solely operating to gouge you with extra fees and maximize their return and benefit on the already overpriced properties they manage in Boulder. Absolutely shameful. Steer clear.

When I voiced my opposition to this, Arnold contacted my Ex Husband (they are aquatinted) to discuss and circumvent me. My former spouse has had ZERO to do with my property for over 6 months. The misogyny and disrespect for women in particular is not something I will tolerate and was the reason for the termination of our real estate contract. I should have known exactly what the situation was when I heard him refer to the women who do ALL of the hard work at his office as "my girls". These are professional grown women who keep his business operational. Not *anyones* "girls". Or to his farm employees as "my hired-men". It took me a while to figure out why this didn't sit well with me. It's because "hired-man" is a descriptor connoting that this person is indeed being paid, as opposed to the tradition of unpaid farm labor, aka, slavery. Over the last 140 years or so, "employee" has become part of the common vernacular to create equality for every person who receives a paycheck.
