Beware! PMI is over 5 months late paying us for the money the collected while managing our property. They've been fired and replaced.

I will never use this property management company again nor do I recommend them. We booked a cabin…read morefor 2 days. The booking process was simple and completed by phone. We received an email with attachment showing the check-in process and the combination to the lock box for entering the cabin. Check-in time was 3pm per paperwork, we showed up at 4:20p. Upon arrival, housekeeping was present and had not even started cleaning. They informed us it would be at least an hour before we could check in. We were 2 moms with 5 children who now had to find a way to entertain our kids while waiting. I called to speak with the manager in regards to the lack of check-in. Speaking with Marnie, she informed me she was present at the property at 3pm and was aware that housekeeping had not cleaned. Marnie had spoken with them and knew they "would be there shortly". None of this was communicated with us so we could make other arrangements. We arrived back at the cabin at approximately 8pm. Upon arrival there was no functioning lock box, all doors of the cabin were unlocked and there were no signs of the keys. We entered, the entire cabin smelled of animal urine. There was no working Wi-fi, cell service was not available and the house phones were also not functioning. We had no way of contacting the property management company on the mountain. Since we had 5 children and it was now late, I left them and the other mom to attempt to get settled in as I went down into Estes Park to get phone service. I emailed every contact I had at the property management company and left messages on the managers voicemail. We were left to make the most of the situation. In the morning, Marnie came by the property to check on us and deliver the keys. She informed us that: 1. Yesterday when she came to check on the property at 3p she was not able to get in. 2. She stated that she checks to make sure property is ok and ready. Despite no housekeeping and not seeing inside the cabin she okayed the cabin for guests. 3. She reported check-in time was changed to 4p, nothing was communicated with us about the change, but either way, we were present at 4:20p and it still was not ready. 4. She confirmed there was an animal present from the guests prior and housekeeping took longer to clean because of it. 5. When discussing the odor, she stated she could send housekeeping back out. We declined, if they could not rid the place of the smell the first time what would they be able to do differently? The carpets would need to be shampooed. 6. She reported she would send a workman regarding the phones and have the lockbox fixed ASAP (neither of which was completed) 6. We were able to reboot the WiFI to get it to work. Per Marnie, it happens often. (Was not listed in the instructions or information). All Marnie did was give validation to our concerns and anger. Nothing was done to change the situation or help. The cabin was definitely not worth staying at. Marnie is a poor manager and a poor communicator. We received an email after we checked out to inform us the owner was by and a workman would be sent out. We were given a gift certificate for mini golf for all of us the night before checkout because of the problems we endured. Too little, too late.

Make sure you take pictures of your rental when you arrive, with a date stamp, if you're going to…read morerent from these guys because they'll keep the majority of your deposit and make up stuff about how you left the house a mess. When we arrived, on the surface, the house was beautiful. The owners obviously spent a lot of money to make it comfortable. But then we started looking around and the bathrooms were still dirty, there was trash still in the garage, trash inside and outside the house...and get this...someone left PANTIES on the top shelf of one of the closets that had a thick coat of dust on them...really?? How long had those been there??? Also, there are a very few towels, so if you like to be dry after a shower, be sure to bring extra. Maybe some extra bedding would be good too, because there wasn't enough of that either. Oh yeah, there's a closet with extra towels and linen in it, but there's a note on the door that says that if you use them, they'll charge you for it. Oh, and bring paper towels and toilet paper, because there wasn't enough of that for even two days for us, so we had to go out and buy more. There's a hot tub that fits 4 people. We used it twice, for about an hour each time and then they had the nerve to say that we left it really dirty and it required extra cleaning. And get this...we're a group of women with the average age being 40-45. We get a letter saying the neighbors (the houses next to us were empty) complained about loud parties. Riiiiigggghhhhtttt. Most of us were in bed by 11pm. I'm sure if the owners knew that the house wasn't being kept clean they'd drop the management company in hot second. Estes Park is beautiful and I'd go back tomorrow if I could, but I'd rather sleep on the back of a horse than rent from these crooks again.

Kristin is EXTREMELY friendly and personable, but has difficulty trying to juggle too much at the…read moresame time. Helping renters find housing seems to be her very charitable priority, by asking for lower rents than other property managers in the area and giving renter applicants every benefit-of-the-doubt and leases to people with questionable credit and criminal backgrounds and shaky references. Great for struggling homeless tenants! But a nightmare for landlords / homeowners! I highly recommend that people read Yelp's "not recommended review" that can only be seen by scrolling down and clicking on the link for it. I totally agree with it! - especially about the difficulty communicating with this agency and their frequent practice of lying (when backed against the wall when they don't honor their agreements). I tried to work with this agency for 3 years, but have learned from my mistake and will never be back! I had a WAY worse "nightmarish tenant" than the one described in Greg B.'s 3/24/2022 review, but instead of thanking BCR for helping me through it, I blame them for causing it - with their very lax tenant screening process! The extreme financial property losses I have suffered from my BCR nightmare far outweigh the small rental income I ever received. Homeowners and landlords BEWARE!!!

Over several days, I looked at rental houses in Longmont. At one of them, I met Claire, from…read moreBoulder County Rentals, and she showed me a lovely, and very comfortable place that I loved. What was even better is the remarkable customer experience I had with Claire. Unlike most of the other showings where the conversation was hurried, cold and transactional, this one was warm, welcoming and actually enjoyable. Claire was gracious, very knowledgeable and thoughtful - even helping me consider what it would be like living in the house on a daily basis to make sure it would be a good fit for me. It was like meeting a new best friend - easy and friendly. Being an executive coach, I was intrigued and asked about her business. She talked about her owner partner, Kristin, how much they love their work helping good people find good homes. A day later, I went to their office and met Kristin. These two are special - smart, warm, engaging - and they know serving their customers exceptionally well is essential. They get it. Michael L.
