Before: I purchased a groupon after reading reviews and decided to try microblading.. My eyebrows were naturally thick but crooked on one side because of a balding patch, I had to draw it in every day and that was what needed to be fixed, natural microblading to match my eyebrows. After: I asked for microblading, no Ombre. The after result was a nightmare that I have been living for years now; the results: overplucked (without my consent), crooked (looks like I am giving everyone a dirty look) and orange (bc they were shaded in without my consent, opened my eyes and there it was and her response was she wasn't going to charge me.) Current: I have to use concealer everyday to cover the uneven orange tint left on my skin bc of ombre, re-draw my now, thin eyebrows so they match and put vitamins/serums so one day my eyebrows grow back to the way they were - hopefully. Consider yourself warned if your reading this .. I should have listened to the other reviewer.

So why the three stars? I'll explain. I first found out about her through Groupon. I purchased it and then called to set up my appointment. On the phone, she sounded upset that I was a Groupon client. From reading other people's reviews, it sounds like this is a recurring theme. Why list yourself with Groupon if you don't want people buying them? Strike one. When I showed up for my appointment, she sold me HARD on getting ombré shading, saying that microblading is an old technique and wouldn't last long with my (oily) skin type. Getting ombré would have cost me a few hundred dollars more, so i really felt she was up-selling me rather than just providing the service I had purchased. I told her I've gotten microblading done before and it lasted me more than two years, so that's the service I want to stick with since it provides the most natural look. She finally agreed. Strike two. During the service, we chatted a bit and I asked why she decided to set up shop in the Valley since she doesn't live around there. Her answer? She doesn't want to service Asian clients. Awkward. Cause I'm Asian. She's Asian. Rude. Strike three. I think Alex is talented, but her attitude about servicing Asian clients, those using Groupon, and her pushing for me to upgrade to the ombré service just turned me off completely, so I don't think I'll return.

What caught my attention even more, which led to my decision, to move forward with Helen, was the attention to detail and how natural the brows looked!!! I scrolled and scrolled, through each one, and I was in AWE!! It was not "one technique for all" it was individual to each client. Some were sparce, scant, even nonexistent, yet she worked her magic and brought those brows to life. I was impressed! Not only with her work, mostly, her professionalism. BROWS DONT MATCH !! Not Good! Here's my experience and what I wish I'd known beforehand. I Booked…read moresessions and communicated via text and all seemed fine. I explained that I had always wanted my brows tattooed, that this a birthday gift . Arrived: very cold and unwelcoming. zero customer service & poor communication. She didn't talk to me about the steps or explain process. nothing. When I asked questions she seemed annoyed. She was on her phone constantly chit chatting, ignoring me. The first thing she tells me is that I needed botox. What? I'm here to get my brows tattooed on my birthday and you're insulting me? Great start, hit your clients with a self esteem blow...now I'm ready to cry on my birthday. Her number one priority was her instagram post so there was constant yelling over me to the other side of the salon for someone to come do camera work. She never asked me how I felt about it or if I wanted to be filmed. I personally did not want to be filmed. For one, it made me very uncomfortable. It was awkward lying there with them constantly hovering over me speaking in a language I don't speak. And having to do multiple takes of the shot. Two, it made the entire session take longer because she kept stopping to film and take photos. I asked to see the photos she refused. she said she would send them and never did. I told her I didn't agree with the tattoo color she chose and that I was concerned it would be too light. She disagreed so I trusted her and she was wrong. Just an FYI the outcome on the videos and pics she shows is inaccurate because that is NOT what they will look like healed. And Helen doesn't post any healed pics. Which I later learned is a red flag and what you should look for in a artist. My brows didn't match!!! They were two completely different sizes and shapes. I reached out to her a few days post asking her about the issue. She told me not to worry that we could fix it when I book my touch up. Okay but they weren't done correctly in the first place!! So to me that's not a touch up that's your mistake and shouldn't cost me my included touch up with $550 brow tattoo session. When I returned she was again very cold to me. The first thing she told me was I needed a darker color ( yep thought so) and that she would match the two brows to be the same (thanks kinda what most of us are going for) she redid them and they are much better however they are still unmatched and not completely tattooed. There are huge gaps where she never shaded so it's patchy and I have to color them in to fix my brows. Just a note: it strangely hurt 3x worse the second time than the first time. My other issue is her pricing. You will notice she doesn't list it anywhere!! Huge red flag because when you ask her a price she thinks about it before she tells you. So it's the price she is deciding on for you personally. So I felt like that was really suspect. I also asked her to please not post the reel of me online and that it made me uncomfortable. She did it anyway. I Do not recommend her!!!
