CJ was great at communicating…read moreduring the initial process and was quick to respond to my questions and was great at following up with me if I forgot to respond. I was constantly changing the number of people who would be getting hair/makeup done, and CJ was great at keeping up with me and all the changes I had. Also, the pricing was reasonable compared to other makeup artists. I loved the hair and makeup that Claire did for myself, but had some issues with my mother, one of my bridesmaids, and my mother-in-law. I was initially drawn to this studio because the website stated they had experience with all skin colors, and since my in-laws and two of my bridesmaids are African American, it was important to me that they had someone who knew how to do makeup to make them look gorgeous. I conveyed this information to CJ and he informed me that the woman that specialized in hair/makeup for African American women was very popular and wouldn't be able to assist with my wedding. I totally understood this, and made sure that he employed people who would make my in-laws and bridesmaids look amazing. He ensured me that all his artists had experience with all skin colors and would be well equipped and experienced to handle my needs. Unfortunately, he was wrong. To start things off, I told CJ that we were getting our hair and makeup done off site and not at the venue, which he acknowledged. Unfortunately he did not follow up (I don't know if he forgot about it or what) and I forgot to tell him the address because I was focused on everything else, but the artists ended up going to the venue first, rather than the actual location. It wasn't as big of a deal because we had plenty of time for everyone to get their hair and makeup done. I don't know if it was Kelly or Mary who did the makeup for my bridesmaid, but it was not done well at all. They did not have the proper color for her and did not know how to apply makeup on her at all. She ended up doing her own makeup because it was done so poorly by the artist. My mother-in-law brought in her own foundation and other items which the artist used so my mother-in-law looked great, but that was only because she brought in her own makeup. The artists did NOT come prepared to do makeup for my bridesmaid and in-laws. My mother was getting her hair curled and ended up being burned by the curling iron right above her left eyebrow. It wasn't enough to bubble or anything, but it did leave a scar and extra makeup had to be applied to cover up the artist's mistake. I don't know if that was Kelly or Mary either. EDIT TO ADD: MY MOTHER'S HAIR GOT BURNED REALLY BADLY AND IT TOOK HER NORMAL HAIRSTLYIST A LONG TIME TO FIGURE IT OUT AND TREAT IT. BECAUSE OF THE STYLISTS POOR WORKSMANSHIP I HAVE DROPPED THE REVIEW DOWN TO ONE STAR. Additionally, how the deposit/payment is handled is awful. I was difficult because the number of services kept changing, so CJ ended up having two different service contracts for my wedding (which was fine). The deposit for each contract ended up being half of the service contract, which was initially okay, but became VERY complicated on the day of the wedding. Since the deposit was half of the service contract, It didn't break down to an even division amongst the services. Basically, the first service contract was 765 (350 for my hair/makeup, 130 for hair/makeup, 130 for hair/makeup, 65 for makeup, and 90 travel fee). This means my deposit was 382.50, which does not divide evenly amongst the various women, so getting final payment was complicated. I had the same issue with the second service contract as well, which was made even more complicated because it was for 4 other women and the contract was for 455. When it came to final payment, I asked CJ how it should be done and he told me to tell everyone to bring cash. But, when each person went to pay with cash, the artists told us not to pay with cash and told us to pay with venmo. Thankfully, my maid of honor is great and venmoed the full amount to Claire, but it was frustrating to be told one thing and then to have that be wrong (or maybe what CJ said was right and how Claire handled it was wrong). TLDR: 1) CJ's communication was great and prompt and he kept up with the changing number of services; 2) the artists went to the incorrect location at first (partially my fault because I didn't provide the location initially but no one followed up with me); 3) the artists are NOT equipped to handle all skin colors which was very upsetting and was NOT what I was told and did not meet my needs; 4) my mother was burned by a curling iron while she was getting her hair done; 5) how the studio handles deposits and payments is very confusing and difficult when there's multiple services because it doesn't divide properly amongst the services.

I am not one to write reviews, so this is a super special circumstance. Megan Madolora is what I…read morewould call a Beauty "Magician." Everything she touches turns into GOLD. There is no one that comes even CLOSE to the level of professionalism and quality she and her work commands. From the very start, I had a good feeling about Megan. She was extremely sweet, professional, and very knowledgeable about her craft. She was extremely flexible with scheduling and respectful as well -- good customer service from the start. But for me, it is not just the customer service I care about but the actual results and competence as well. Megan has both mastered. I have been to a previous permanent makeup artist that yelled at me and said "No" after altering it twice. A lot of PMU artists are annoyed when asked to alter more than twice. My experience with Megan was the EXACT OPPOSITE -- It took around 15+ times I think, and almost 45 minutes of altering until I was satisfied with the mapping and shape of my eyebrows (that she drew on before even starting), but Megan not once complained, and instead made me feel like she truly cared about making it right and my customer satisfaction. She sweetly and kindly changed it here and there, tweaked it a bit in the front and in the tip, etc. until I was 100% completely and happily satisfied with it. I felt so bad because I kept wanting it a cm longer here, an inch up there, and just constant tweaking, but she never once made me feel uncomfortable. Instead, she assured me she would alter as many times as needed, until it was absolutely perfect to me. And that is exactly what she did. This took like almost an hour in itself (you can imagine how many tweaks I requested). She didn't start until I was 1000% satisfied. I can confidently say that is not the case with every PMU. One PMU I went to for permanent eyeliner (that wasn't Megan), didn't want to change anymore after two alterings, and instead just did whatever she wanted and messed up my eyeliner & eyes permanently. THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD BOOK MEGAN -- she makes sure this doesn't happen to you. So an hour later, I was finally satisfied with the mapping. Then she began. Now as for the results -- it literally took ONLY ONCE for the thing to come out PERFECT. Like literally, once the eyebrows were mapped out and I gave the approval to go ahead, as soon as she finished actually tattooing them, I looked in the mirror for the first time and couldn't find a SINGLE thing that I wanted to change or that I didn't feel right about. The brows were literally PERFECT - symmetrical and perfectly framed to match my specific face (see picture). She didn't even need to tweak or add or change anything - she got it 100% perfect in one take only. I have never had this level of competence and efficiency before, but Megan did it. She is a master of her craft, extremely competent, and extremely efficient. Paired with her 10 star customer service, there is nothing and no one I recommend higher for PMU. 10/10 stars for sure; book Megan and you won't be disappointed. (Also, her Rates are SO reasonable and even lower than other Permanent Makeup Artists, yet with even a more premium quality and result than them). If I were you, I would hurry and run not walk to book Megan before she raises her rates!!! I had my permanent lip blush done (with someone else), and my permanent eyeliner done (with another PMU). My eyebrows (done by Megan) are the only ones I am truly satisfied with. My lips and eyeliners were messed up by other PMUs and they didn't even care to change it once they were finished. Thanks to Megan, my brows are absolute perfection at least. (BTW, If you are going to book with Groupon, maybe call Megan and book with her directly as Groupon takes a lot of her money and I feel so bad about that! Book Megan direct so all the money goes to her ). Her rates are surprisingly so reasonable and even lower than other PMUs that don't even do as quality of work as she does.
