Went into open a checking and savings accounts today, which ideally should only take 15 minutes!…read moreHowever the process took 1 hr and 15 minutes. We called and set up an appointment with Brandon the banker who was very slow, did not seem confident in what he was sharing with us and took way too long. We wanted to discuss promotions, however Brandon appeared to be unsure what the branch was offering. I have never had such annoying experience with chase! Chase bankers are prompt, helpful and and meticulous. He was not which was concerning on many levels. Certainly won't be coming back here for help. When it comes to finances I really appreciate someone with confidence who can help me make the best decision rather than act as they are hiding information for me. I did not feel comfortable working with Brandon. The back accessibility is great, there is an ATM outside and one inside to avoid lines. Other teller staff has been helpful when needed and are nice.

If only I could make this up, but no, it's a true story!…read more I came to make a deposit at the ATM, which is in their "foyer." I don't feel safe here, generally, because the mirrors on the ATM are low and tiny. In other words, they're useless! At this machine, you have to search around to make sure no one is lurking behind you. Sketchy people are always outside on Wabash and banks have money! Now to my surprise, someone took a shit on this ATM! I'll say it again, a human-being DEFECATED on their Automated Teller Machine! The pig who did this took a crap on the machine before the branch was opened. I arrived in the afternoon, hours (many hours!) after this happened, and it was still a disgusting mess! The manager told me what happened, and said a company 'cleaned up' most of it. He told me this as he was brushing it with Clorox wet wipes. When he was "done" I peered at the machine, and I saw that it still had feces mushed between the keys and slots. DEPLORABLE! DEPLORABLE! DEPLORABLE! What!?!? This is a safety issue; a public hazard! Nobody should have been allowed to use this machine until it was professionally cleansed! Thoroughly sanitized! This machine was NOT sanitized. Merely removing the shit and rubbing the surface with Clorox towels is completely inappropriate! It's unacceptable! This machine should have been shut down; blocked to public access, period! I filed a formal complaint to the top brass. DEPLORABLE!!!

I like the…read morefact that it's close because whenever I have some extra money and I walk past this bank, I stop in to make a deposit and I saved up a lot of money that way in addition to my regular savings account at a bigger bank. I used to like the idea of patronizing small businesses in Andersonville for all sorts of products and services. But I learned that you shouldn't be fooled into thinking that small businesses are always great and that they will always treat you great. And you are also not going to get all of the services you would get at a larger bank. But the service at Northside Federal Savings is not very good. There is one male teller that is exceptionally rude, doesn't even say a word, just motion to you and slides your receipt under the window. The bankers are ok but they don't tell you all of the information they should. For example, when I added a beneficiary to my account, Northside ran a Chex Systems report. Later that day when I went to another bank to open an account the banker there told me "I see you just opened an account at Northside Federal Savings" which I didn't. Also, Northside Federal charges you an ATM fee to use another bank's machine. Come one. You only have one location and you charge for out of network ATM usage? I'll continue to have this "extra money" savings account here because the location is very convenient. But I won't keep my main savings account here with most of my money nor will I do checking here.

Well, not being one to pass on free cash I went inside. The young lady that assisted me was very friendly and informative. She told me very clearly what the 2 or 3 very simple requirements were to quailify for the free cash and free checking (they were so simple that almost everybody can easily comply with them) and when I said sure lets do it she set me up with my new checking account. Within about 10 minutes I had opened my new checking account and was on my way out the door. As far as the free cash to open a new checking account that showed up in my checking account well within the timeframe she told me it should arrive in. I've been inside a few times since then to make deposits and take care of other business and have always had pleasant experiences. I've never had an employee who was anything less than friendly and professional. One of the most surprising things to me is that even when the line inside is real long they manage to keep the line moving at a good pace while maintaining friendly service. If you're looking for a new bank I'd strongly recommend stopping in and chatting with these fine folks. They know how to treat their customers and I suspect that's one of the benefits of dealing with a small bank versus a huge national chain of banks. Don't worry though even though they are a small bank with I think only 3 locations here there are thousands of ATMs nationwide that you can use for free so you also get the added benefit that most people like about being associated with a major bank. Go ahead stop in and talk with these folks and I'm sure you'll walk out a little happier than when you walked in. Heck, even the security guard at the front door greets everybody so that should tell you this is one friendly place!

The customer service is virtually non-existent and is not available except for during business hours and even then the hold/callback times of 10 minutes plus are unacceptable for a financial institution. The integration of the online banking with Zelle is also very confusing and not well done compared to the way other banks have done it. Having been a customer and employee of other banks, it is clear that Liberty does not offer a competitive level of service. I will be taking my money elsewhere.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I am new to Chicago from the west coast. I recently moved my business over and…read moreneeded a business banking checking account. I went to 5 banks before I ended up here. By the time I called PNC I pretty much was giving up on the customer experience I was hoping for and just looking for the right products which so far no other bank was able to "pitch" to me. Every other bank I found to have uninformed employees that either didn't know answers to my questions or made up some pretty crazy answers. And my questions weren't that complicated. So I called PNC. The gentleman who answered the phone I later found out was the assistant manager. He was very honest. Explained to me that the Branch manager was also their business banker and he was with a client , could he call me back and he gave me a time frame. I said sure. Within that time frame the manager did follow through and I got a call back. I could tell over the phone he was extremely educated. And the customer experience I had given up on was sneaking in through the phone. He actually began by asking about me and my business. Something NO other bank did with me. They all went straight to the bullet points of what they needed for an account to be opened. In fact , most of the call was first to get to know me and then to get to know Hector Rodriguez (the manager ) to build my confidence in who I was trusting with my business. Of course I moved forward. I emailed him my documents and said I'd be there in half an hour. When I arrived I quickly saw he was continuing to go above and beyond my expectations. He already started setting up my profile before I arrived. My documents were sitting on his desk. He wasn't only expecting me he was prepared for me. He made a phone appointment with his merchant service partner Tom who is also a PNC employee so I wouldn't have to wait , knowing that was one of my important needs for my account. I'm telling you the entire process was seamless. And personal. He again continued to get to know me when I sat down. It wasn't a , okay now sign here , experience. He still worked on earning my trust and my business. I could go on. But then this review would be a novel. My point is. This branch. Hector and his team has that old school small town branch feel. And it's genuine. A note about Tom. I only worked with him through the phone with Hector but he too impressed me and I went forward with working with him as well. He also got to know me and my business which is what any new business owner wants , right ? Let's be honest here. When you start a business you're nervous overwhelmed and excited at the same time. It feels good to have someone hear about your ideas and hard work. Tom relayed his customer experience through the phone as if he was sitting in the office with us and I will continue to work with both of them. Before I left I got a nice welcome gift package, a handshake , a congratulations , and an invitation to meet other business owners in the area. I am coming back in two days to move my personal accounts over. Hector , Tom. THANK YOU. I appreciate you and do not take your hospitality and support for granted. See you soon .......

PNC Bankers are Untrustworthy and PNC Customer Service is Unethical -- I opened a savings account…read moreand was told that I would receive $400 bonus with a $5000 deposit. I was not verbally informed by the banker that a direct deposit was required to receive the bonus. I wrote a check for $5000 that the banker accepted. In December 2025, I went to the branch and informed the banker that I had not received the bonus. She said she would contact me and let me know the status, but she never contacted me. When I called PNC customer service in April 2026, they informed me that the direct deposit was required. Yes -- I then saw on the PNC material, which I still possessed but had not carefully read, because the orange and blue PNC flyer was basically unreadable, and I relied on the verbal explanation. PNC has refused to even compensate me any slight amount of interest - they used my $5000 to profit without compensating me at all, which I think is unreasonable.
