I met an awesome customer representative, I'm sorry I forgot his name but we carried on quite a discussion over other things besides banking issues. A very personable touch. I did not feel rushed and had my questions politely answered. Have always been pleased each time I have needed to have any banking services required. While I'm at least not being charged fees for everything, their service leaves much to be desired. For starters, they have no online bill pay. This is such a basic service that it didn't occur to me to ask if they had it before opening the account. I can't even been able use the minimal "online banking" services they do have to check my balance, etc. I've made two requests for a log-in, but have received no reply at all. Their in-person service is slow & indifferent. I'm rather baffled as to how they stay in business.

The customer service at the Crownsville branch is exceptional! I do miss the old staff. They were so personable, they knew who we were and knew our kids, that also had accounts. I have had great, timely, friendly, professional service no matter what I have been to the bank for or even when calling. I have friends and family that don't understand why we don't go to a larger bank corporation like bank of america or truste but I will never give up my own local bank because of the personable friendly staff. We'll I wanted to reactivate the account and did so easily. But a WEEK LATER their IT called from a number that was showing as potential spam and I told them I didn't feel comfortable giving them my security information. They froze the account and I had to go through hoops just to get it back. When I asked how long it took to go dormant they told me it was 3 years so I wanted to wait for next tax season since I missed this one due to the freeze. Well now they put it dormant after I had called in and everything so I closed the account. Absolutely inept all around. Why would you wait a week to verify the online account? Why was I allowed access for an entire week online before verifying it? Why would they tell me 3 years dormant when it was 2? Why is reactivating and verifying my account with personal information no considered activity or acknowledgement like it says in the letter they sent? They really didn't want my business after these decades so someone else will get it

Local credit union that has seen a decline in service levels over the past several years…read more Reasonable loan rates. Good interest rates available for deposits. Telephone teller and apps are below average, with high tendency to crash in the latter and aggravating voice assistant dominating the former (making it nearly unusable at times). Fees for overdraft are swiftly charged. Fraud detection services have killed legitimate transactions after hours, leading to embarassment and the need to use a different card. ATM network is strong through Credit Union Cooperative, but a longstanding agreement with M&T banks recently sunset. Reaching customer service during down times is challenging. Best bet is to physically go to a branch, but hours that used to extend until 7 at some branches have been curtailed to 1970s style banker hours. Overall, this institution is struggling to keep up with the times - I've been a customer for over 30 years, but am now looking for the exits.
