I own a business and experienced check fraud for the first time on my account. Someone got a hold…read moreof one of my manual checks that I had signed and had been cashed. They took the check, whited out all of the information I had written except for my signature, changed the check number, and deposited it 3 times in one day into various accounts. The people who deposited these checks also experienced fraud. They were told that they were getting paid for something and made the mistake of trusting a stranger online. You hear these stories and think they won't happen to you until it does. This happened while I was on vacation no less. So how did R Bank handle all this? They cancelled my checking account and moved my money to a new account, filled out paperwork so that I could get reimbursed, called me for days after whenever a new charge came in to verify it was legit and more. Zac Parker, my personal banker, was quick and professional. I've been told that I will be refunded my $4000+ this week, only 2 weeks after it happened! That they are personally guaranteeing a full reimbursement even if they can't get the money back! Wow! I will never bank anywhere else.

Upon entering, there was a girl sitting at a desk and I said "I'd like to open an account please." She promptly said "I cannot do that for you right now because I am at lunch ". (she obviously had already eaten her lunch because she was sitting at her desk doing other things., the correct thing for her to do is be an exceptional employee and figure out how to open an account for my elderly mother) I said "do you have anyone covering for you?" and she said "yes, but she is at lunch too." (Obviously this girl does not understand what covering for you means). I repeated myself using different verbiage. "Does anyone open the accounts while you are at lunch? " She said slowly as if trying to get me to understand "yes but she is at lunch". Oh my gosh. I said "OK what time do you get back from lunch?" and she said "I cannot help you today. You will have to call and make an appointment. " I'm literally standing there with an 85-year-old woman in a wheelchair wanting to open an account and I am told NO My family has been with Randolph Brooks for three generations. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened. Everyone in my family has an account with Randolph Brooks. I have walked into the Randolph Brooks in round rock more times than I can count with various issues or problems or needs, and they have always helped me in such a kind understanding and competent manner. I am Randolph Brooks client for life, but I will never go into this Georgetown office again. I'd rather drive 20 minutes to round rock and get the help that I deserve as a valued client. The account opening process took a while and didn't have great communication - I had to call in twice over the next week to make sure my application was in process and they had what they needed. Once opened, everything has been smooth. Online banking, Quicken connectivity, and the full-service items I need (notary, cashier's checks, wires, etc). Do NOT get a construction loan with this bank. even though it is Texas State law AND we signed the…read moreappropriate paperwork, Rbank failed to withhold the retainage because THEY overlooked the paperwork. Also, dealing with the bank loan department is frustrating. At first, we were told that the retainage wasn't withheld because it wasn't in the builders contract (the builder signed the retainage paperwork also), then we were told that they don't usually include that page in the closing docs, then it was out fault, etc. Also, tried to get a face-to-face appointment to discuss this and more, but was unable to get a date. I gave two weeks of days and times that I could meet, but email after email of "I'm really busy"", "what do you want to discuss", etc. (I also in two different emails listed what I wanted to discuss). I could never get a date from them. not one that I had suggested or an alternative date that would meet their schedule. but according to them I was not "denied" a meeting. If you can't ever get a date and time after email after email over several days, doesn't it result in the same thing? No meeting.

In the last couple of years they have gone from being a little offensive - asking where this deposit came from as though I am laundering money - to being utterly offensive. I have over $10,000 in a savings account plus a checking account with over $3,000. When I wrote a loan payment for 17 cents less than the accurate amount, they sent me a collection letter. (They will not issue a coupon book.) Last week, I deposited $160 through the ATM. I received a letter in the mail yesterday that they put a $38 hold on that deposit. (Again, I have over $10,000 in savings with them.) Something is not right in the management and they now require an appointment to meet with them because the lobby in Georgetown is closed most, if not all, the time. I am looking for a new bank as this one feels like it is failing.
