Once you're approved you should be approved, but not at Choice One! I always thought Credit Unions were here to help the local people. I ended up closing my accounts & went back to my other bank, which is further away, but treats me like a real person - a person with credit & financial needs. All I got from Choice One was empty promises just so I'd move all my accounts to them. If I could leave a 0 I would. When we initiated our auto loan we scheduled autopay and then after…read morereceived a link to set up our banking information. The online banking said the autopay was off. I scheduled a payment and the next day they also automatically withdrew the money a second time. When I called to address this it was basically oh well, nothing we can do and I am forced to have the money put into a savings through their bank instead of the bank all of my bills are attached to. I have other bills that will now be delinquent because I have to wait until they are good and ready to give it back and then go through however many days it will take to transfer back to my banking account. This is the very beginning of our relationship with this institution and once this auto loan is paid off the relationship with this institution will be done. The right thing to do would have been to send the $400 to an account I could access so I could still pay my bills. Instead it's oh well, we screwed up and you get the consequence. We will do nothing else here.

When asked, we were told this is their monthly maintenance fee. Umm, no, we were told no fees. Please cancel the account. Apparently if you do so before 3 months, that is a $5 fee as well. None of this was told to us up front nor was it posted anywhere for transparency sake. This bank is greedy, seedy, and NOT a place your money will be safe. Avoid this institution of greed.

Jackie was very attentive and made sure to give me tips on what to do to save on not being charged for certain services. I paid off my car loan today and wanted to make sure I did this in person in case I had an additional questions. Jackie was very attentive and personable. Tip: for those of you with a Gold Circle Checking, make sure you request your statement electronically b/c they're going to start charging $3 per month for a paper statment. ALSO, since I didn't know my pin number for my debit card, Jackie requested a new pin (new card too). With this green card, for every transaction, they give you $0.10 back.
