Nate and I were looking for a spot to grab a bite to eat before a concert at Van Andel recently, and decided to check and see if there was a wait at Pochis. Luckily for us, we were able to get a table right away. Don't sleep on this place! We got a delicious and filling meal for about $30! The menu has changed a bit since they first opened in 2023 with more options for entrees. We ordered the yuca, chorizo, and beef and potato empanadas to share. I'd love to come back to try the steak and other options. Our food came out quickly and everything was super hot and fresh. Their yuca is the best I've ever had - super crispy on the outside and perfectly salted, and not dry inside. I do recommend eating the yuca before it gets too cold, it's best when it's freshly fried! I loved the empanadas with the tender shredded beef and soft potatoes inside. The included hot sauce gave them the perfect kick. The chorizo was a great side to add some more protein, and it was flavorful and not too dry. I think it came with an arepa on the side, which was surprisingly delicious! The vibe inside is cute and has a cafe feel, and I can't wait to come back to try more of their menu. I did ask if the salchipapas were still on the menu because I didn't notice it listed, and was assured they still make this dish! That was my favorite last time, so I'm looking forward to getting that one again too. We're lucky to have this special spot right downtown, so hopefully more people will check it out. read more

This cafe is as delicious as is it adorable! The pink decor and Colombian pride are throughout everything. We had a basket of empanadas (pollo y arroz & pollo y papas) and couldn't decide which was tastier! The salsa is a nice accompaniment for both and it has a slight kick, giving the dish a little spice. I recently got back home from a work trip abroad and was craving some local cuisine. Pochi's has been on my list for forever (and because we'd like to plan a trip to Colombia this fall). The interior was adorable and there was a cozy couch with pillows at the entrance. Once you enter, there are various goods for sale, including snacks, shoes, hats, and bags. I ended up buying a crossbody bag and love the intricately knit patterns! We came here in the late afternoon for coffee and a snack and ended up ordering a machiato espresso barraco (double espresso with a touch of milk) and Bogotá latte to start. My latte came with cinnamon, caramel syrup, milk, whipped cream, and a Pochis coconut cookie. Our server checked to see if it was sweet enough to my liking, and it definitely was without being too overpowering. For snacks, we split the beef Pochis arepa (a thick corn "cake" with sausage, tomato, onion, corn, mozzarella cheese, and a quail egg. It was surprisingly filling. We also got the guacamole achicharrando (wood smoked pork belly chicharron) which was tasty but a bit fatty. If I were hungrier, I'd probably see if I could purchase more chips to eat the guac with next time. Lastly, we ended up ordering a lemonade and a lulo juice with milk. You can order the natural juices with milk or water. We were told ordering with water is more so if you're thirsty and ordering with milk is sort of like a shake. I loved the lulo juice and would definitely recommend trying it! I'm excited to come back and try more of the menu. This cute little cafe has delicious food and so many choices on their menu. Great for lunch or an indulgent snack - they have everything from arepas to empanadas and other special dishes sure to please everyone. We tried their arepas and empanadas. The arepa is open face (a little different than previous ones we've had which are served more like a pita pocket style) and it comes with a sweet mayo sauce on top. We weren't expecting this/I don't typically like mayo, but it still tasted great. The empanada was devoured by my toddler and we should've gotten another other one. They have coffee and other desserts that we'll have to try next time! Parking can be challenging (street parking) so just be prepared to circle. read more

Stopped in for lunch and they were busy! We ordered about 5-10min after walking in as they worked through their line. The food took about 20min to arrive which is somewhat slow but there were other customers ahead of us, so it's understandable. It looked like they had 3 people working and they were doing their best to keep up. The decor is interesting with stuff everywhere but we enjoyed it. Every corner of the store is covered with stuff to buy and some free samples to try the desserts like coconut coffee cookies and chocolate covered coffee beans. For lunch, I had 3 empanadas and my wife had an empanada and an arepa. We loved everything and it was clearly made fresh because they came out piping hot. The arepa was large and easy to share. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would come back. We plan to buy some of their bags of treats for gifts in the future. read more

Wow!!!! This place is a MUST visit! It is probably the cutest cafe on earth, and although when you walk in, it looks like they just sell tons of amazing desserts.... they're SO much more than that! They have a full menu of delicious Colombian foods, including arepas, empanadas, patacons, and more! (Not to mention all the coffee options- I didn't have a chance to try that yet, but trust me, I'll be back!) I had a beef empanada and the shredded beef arepa. The empanada was AMAZING, like a delicious, hot little package of comfort food I regretted ordering only one, but the shredded beef arepa was equally create! The beef was so tender and flavorful, and the sauce was amazing! I also had a chocolate macaron, which was okay, but pretty average. My friend ordered the creole patacon, which also had the delicious beef, and the most melty, delicious cheese! We also split a caramel brownie cheesecake, which was THE most delicious cheesecake Ive ever had. (Sorry, grandma, yours is second best!) The food was great and we loved the look of the place, but what really set it apart were the employees! Everyone we interacted with went above and beyond! Cici, the lady who cashed us out/brought us our food, was SO sweet. She remembered our names from our order, and just made us feel like we were being helped by a friend instead of an employee we just met!! When I started to pick up my plates/trash, the owner swooped in and cleared everything for us, and was just so nice! Wow -- great place for authentic Colombian food. They do far more than sweet treats which was a great surprise. My group and I sat down for like nah and ordered rounds of appetizers and dishes to share amongst us. The owner came out to greet us and was very pleasant. Not to mention the place itself is ADORABLE. We loved the atmosphere with the Colombian details and atmosphere the dishwater matched the vibe! Pochi gets an A+ on decor and ambiance. You can tell she really put effort in creating a space that is cozy and elegant while serving quality colombian treats. This type of cuisine has been wildly desired in GR for a while and I am excited to finally have a cute cafe to go and relax with and eat a piece of home. While prices are on the steeper end it's made up in quality and the fact that it's a guilty pleasure you can give yourself. The service here is attentive and you feel like you're family. read more

Geez, glad I walked over here from my hotel. Had a cheesecake that was evilly good. Was going to do a drip coffee, then spotted the espresso machine. Great pull on the Americano shots. Service was VERY friendly by the gent behind the counter. The place is light pink (even that awesome fridge behind the counter). I dig it. Wish I hadn't gotten distracted by that cheesecake concoction and tried the food too, but that is a hit on me and not them. Glad to have stopped by. read more

My daughter and I went here before going to the movies. It is walking distance from Studio park and takes about 5 minutes. We got a blended coffee and a cheese cake with fresh fruit. Both were very yummy. This cafe is super cute and the staff were very nice. We will be back. read more

overpriced and they charge a admin fee when you pay, the tiny empanadas are $3.50 each $14 dlls fo rthe guacamole and the chicharrones are not that crunchy as in Colombia. The place is beautiful and cozy and I don't even think the lady is Colombia but that is besides the point, our bill was $148.00 not including the tip, the reason i give it a 2 star review are the prices as the rest is ok.
