The wine and appetizers were fine. The prices were ok too. Today was a cold day in Amsterdam so my wife and I sat side by side under their space heaters and occupied two of their tiny tables. But the manager told us we can only sit across from each other at only one table. Many of their tables were vacant so we said we would move if other customers showed up. But they insisted we have to move. At this point we asked for the check and left without ordering more drinks/food. Very poor customer service. read more

A great place for a meal while out sightseeing for the day. Very friendly service and a nice menu too. I was surprised to see how large the portion sizes were for the reasonable prices. I ordered a salad and asked for a grilled chicken breast instead of fried chicken and they had no problem with the substitution. The food was delicious and the drinks were very good too. They serve tap water as an option to paying for bottled water and it tasted just fine. They have outside seating with heaters for the winter. Inside seating in the bar area or upstairs where the kitchen is stationed. It was warm and cozy inside and we really liked eating her. A cute little cafe on the sidewalk in the Netherlands . Stumbled upon this while walking around for quite some time. The weather was beautiful and we wanted to sit outside. The tables are a little close together and service was a little slow in terms of getting refills on beverages and that is my only "complaint". Other than that, the chicken sandwich and fries really hit the spot! It's a great spot for people watching as well! Right across the street from a little market. read more

I was here for a new years eve dinner and drinks event. The area we were to eat in was tiny so thirty some people were elbowing each other or kicking each other, unintentionally of course, most of the night. The waitress that helped us did a rather good job despite the chaos going on around her. She fortunately was helped by other people on the staff who brought things out or took drink orders. It was tapas, tapas and more tapas and a beer. The food while interesting wasn't all that exciting, not bland just not tasty. Overall it was okay. I would have liked to have seen a menu to see what else they offered to customers food wise but I never did. Seeing as the Poco Loco is located on the Nieumarkt and it being new years eve, there was a crowd of revelers setting off firewooks almost constantly making it truly a spectacle to behold. The bar in Poco Loco was a welcome place to retreat to when you had too much of the crowd and mayhem outside. It's actually a nice looking bar. I am going to have to go back to another time and hang out for a few drinks there. I can't recommend going there due to the fact I only had tapas and a few beers so I'll have to go back to get a better perspective before I can recommend it. read more

I'm a vegetarian, and didn't expect to find much on the menu. But there were several interesting options. I went for the Vegetable (something something) Sandwich. Ho-ly crap. This place has a cat chilling under our table. Putting aside the fact that it's not sanitary having a cat running around under the table while we eat. This would not normally be a big issue but my autistic brother is terrified of them. We asked the server if they can move him somewhere else out of his sight and they could not care less. I was enticed to eat here as when I passed by I thought the place looked very cosy with tea lights on every table. There's a very good choice of food, they mostly have tapas which is great if you want to try a lot of things. I went for the chicken, lamb and beef skewer which didn't look a lot when it arrived but it was very filling. The service was the quickest we had compared to the other cafes and restaurants we had went to. There was also a very cute cat walking around. The restaurant is very small and I felt that the choice of drinks and desserts could have been better but other than that it was a nice meal for a good price. read more

I'm so disappointed that our last meal in Europe was had here. Maybe we were spoiled since our Airbnb was situated in the heart of the Old Pijp and there's amazing restaurants around every corner. Our Sandemans tour guide recommended this spot so we decided to go since it was in the area. We should have went further from the Red Light district to get a bite. The waitress was nice but the girl helping her serve was angry. I get it that some of our table was entranced with the free WiFi and pokemon Go but she was not nice and made me feel like a stupid tourist. Lady, you work in the busiest tourist area in Europe. The food was just okay. The potatoes were just your typical potato and I'm pretty sure the puff pastry was something you could buy in a box at the store. The shrimp had barely any spices and when I dipped my bread in the trimmings it just tasted like fatty oil. Not the best experience and not the best food. Situated on the Nieumarkt, I've passed this place many times. It's in a very touristy location, but I looked for dutch people eating and spotting them, decided that it would be safe to at least try. I was wrong. The service was awkward, with the waitstaff clearly entertaining friends and the food was even worse. I watched plates on a number of tables be taken away half full and if I were smart (and less hungry) I would have done the same. read more

They were all pdelicious and well balanced. The service is a bit disorganized towards the beginning but everyone was polite. The place could be a bit cleaner (mirrors, windows, blinds). If I could give this place no stars, I would. I've worked in the restaurant business for years, as has my family for decades, and I've traveled the world and I have never had such a terrible experience. Poco loco is a seemingly cute place in a busy area, and the menu looked affordable and simple - great. However, after waiting 10 minutes on the busy patio, my sister and I figured that we should go in and help them out a little bit (the inside was TOTALLY empty), but three girls just stood there and looked at us, offering no assistance. We then managed to ask if we could sit ourselves on the patio (which was busy, but considering the section consisted of about 15 tables, all of which were 2-4 person tables, it didn't seem unreasonable). WE SAT THERE FOR 25 MINUTES with the previous table's dirty silverware and cups. The girls CLEARLY saw us in the corner of he patio as they cleaned the tables and served food around us. We were never actually sat. No one ever cleaned he table. No one ever gave us a menu. Horrific. There are plenty of other places to eat... don't go here.... read more

Sat for a long time outside before being served, so my husband went indoors to be told orders were taken at the table. A dour, unfriendly and angry waitress eventually took our order. During our drinks a male waiter came and cleaned the already clean table and arranged some items, apologising for his OCD. When wanting to pay, we were told it could only be done by card as the aforementioned waitress was doing the till. When my husband informed them he did not have a card, he could only pay by cash, he was told that he would HAVE to wait 15 minutes until she had finished counting the money! My husband said "What? No! How much do we owe you?" We were then asked if we had the correct amount, fortunately we did. I thought in their business that they were supposed to wait on customers, not customers waiting on them! A VERY poor service and unacceptable attitude. Avoid at all costs! read more
