First the driver tried to blame me for moving the pod after he had fled the scene (assuming he was drunk or high) Then after I call the local pods store, they have drug out the process of paying me back for the $17,000 in damage that was done to the property and now refusing to pay claiming that I did not follow their procedure. if I could give it zero stars I would. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. I had to call 58 (YES FIFTY EIGHT) times to try to resolve a fraudulent charge to my card they made. Ive been hung up on, lied to, transferred to some bs # instead of a supervisor...YOU NAME IT. The charge they took out of my bank screwed EVERYTHING else up and I got overdraft charges out the axx. They didn't care! I was supposed to get almost $$500 returned to me and I got $80. Then they lied to the BBB on my complaint saying they refunded me the full amount. More horror stories on bbb. The actual employee s that do the work are great problem is they aren't the ones running the show. What happens is they tell you anything needed to close the deal then they do whatever they please. When you call them to talk about it no one calls you back AND that's your only option. The people that actually carry out the work are great. I wish we had gone with uhall it was less costly. I called in to get a quote to move from Knoxville to Oregon. And the person was very nice, asked me for the starting address and then the zip code for the Oregon side (since we haven't finalized the purchase of the Oregon house). I received the quote with the delivery zip code (both beginning and ending zip codes) all in there by email. THEN, I looked at PODs reviews. I am sure glad I did. Most of them reference people loading their PODS up and then finding out later that their POD can not be delivered to them. And in many cases, they have to hire short distance movers to deliver the contents of their POD or do it themselves resulting in multiple loading and unloading (which is what you are trying to avoid). So I called PODs up again and asked specifically about an address in that Oregon zip code. I was told that PODS does not service the entire zip code. I can now see why the bad reviews. Obviously, PODS makes no effort to screen for this up front. It's only because I asked about it that I found this out. They obviously want you to pay for the service and then figure out a solution later that makes it much less worthwhile for you and lucrative for them. They must be reading these reviews to know this, and so the fact that they do not fix their systems to alert for zip codes out of their service areas (which is a known issue), means they do not want to inform the mover of what is going to happen - ie you going to have to have a second move as well. Do not even waste your money! I was misled by the associate when I called, told him I was moving to TN and not sure of my ending address point... he tells me no problem we can update that later when you find a house. He said it will be stored in Knoxville until the time being...I paid about 7k now to have my pod moved and stored... come to find out they won't deliver it to my address because it's out of service range. Called customer service and they put in a request for them to deliver it to me, only 19 miles out of the way and they denied it. Called again to customer service and was told too bad, there's nothing they can do and they'll file a report for me but when the next person contacts me about it they will tell me the same thing. Do not waste your money or time! Now I have to hire movers and spend another couple grand for them to get my pod to me. I should have just drove a uhaul from the beginning. They messed up my original quote, our items got wet & moldy in one of the two PODS, the drop off driver ran over & destroyed a piece of yard art & they haven't been able to pick up the last POD for over 3 weeks now. I would recommend you run from this terrible company. I've now left the owner my cell number by the requested email address, will update.The response was that they're forwarding my concerns to somebody else....who probably won't do anything.....at least that's what I heard. The owner responded par for the course for this absolutely horrible business. Don't listen to the BS responses, they don't care, they're only trying to CYA (cover their....). Oh yeah, they're trying to help...well how about making a phone call and getting this POD picked up? I've not been given any contact to assist with my issue and nobody in this company will give you a direct line, the system is set up to frustrate you into giving up. Just wait for the manager to call back (bet he doesn't) The owner could have simply called someone and gotten this resolved instead of offering BS replies over the internet. Next day, they gave me a customer advocacy representative from the "office of executives" who assured me that he would get this handled and had requested the POD would be picked up today. I've emailed and called and no response today so far and it's noon. This is what horrible customer service is all about. The only way to get an issue resolved with this company is by constant bombardment of negative reviews and contacting everyone you can find that works for them....they're just hoping that you'll give up. I've now received an update (1:30pm), basically telling me that the corporate office can't reach the local Nashville manager either....what a joke of a company. Contractor ordered a container to be delivered to my house on July 23rd. They finished their work and I decided I needed to rent it an additional month. I contacted PODS customer service and they said no problem that I could continue to rent the POD, for me to just open a new account and I gave the POD number. I called back to confirm and after 40 min wait on the phone. I explained the situation and was making sure I would not receive a new container delivery. Just keep the existing one. He hung up on me and then cancelled my order!!! The contractor called me and said he got a contract from POD to sign over his account to me. He said he had other clients and didn't want the account signed over. I said I understood and the POD assured me that he didn't have to and it would be billed in my name next time. I called back and talked to a manager. She said my order was not cancelled. I said it did not show on my account information anymore. She checked with the prior customer service rep and said it was cancelled because it was the wrong price!! I told her I got a 30% discount being a new customer. She then told me to start a new order and I gave her the container number. She said I needed to talk to business services and was hung up on after the transfer. I called business services and spoke to Oliver. He said that there would be no problem with the order. Once the month ran out on the container rented by the contractor, everything would go into my name be billed. I was contacted by the local POD about delivering my new POD unit. I explained I wanted to keep the existing one. The local manager was very helpful and said he would cancel the order so I wouldn't get a new one and he would have someone from operations contact me. Kelly from operations called me and was very sympathetic and said she would try and get this resolved.I told her that I would have made other arrangements if they had told me all this in advance. Now they want me to pay $60 for notary and to get the contractor to sign a contract he was uncomfortable signing. I haven't heard back. I got a email from business services that I have to get the contract signed. I have never been treated like this by any company in my life! The rude, inept people in your customer service are unbelievable. After 9 calls, 4 emails, I am still at a loss of what to do. I guarantee I will never do business with your company again and will get your company the reviews it deserves!! read more

I would not recommend pods to anyone. Not only was delivery driver rude (and hours late) but said he couldn't get pod in our driveway even though truck fit-he said the driveway was less than 8 feet wide and he couldn't get pod in (he did) even though the driveway is 10 to 15 feet wide. After pod was left at the top of our driveway, blocking the whole thing and facing the street, we awaited the pods recommended pack & load service. The loaders never showed after telling us two separate times they were on the way, they cancelled at 5:30 pm, after we waited all day. The next day we were called by someone in a different state saying he was going to head up with a crew to load the pods. We said no because we hadn't scheduled anything for a different time or day and we didn't want to have them send anyone out. We were then told we would not get a refund for the money we'd already paid, and in fact we're going to be charged an extra $200 ($100 per hour of travel--which would have been a total of $800 for round trip travel of crew) because the crew from different state was already on their way. Tried to get help from PODs customer service and they said they passed the information on to senior team but we haven't heard back. Incredibly disappointed-they say they're here to make moving easier and my experience that has shown to not be true, and to actually have made process more difficult and more stressful. Be cautious of using pods! We have been in touch and given customer ID to their "customer service" and there has been zero follow up. He just complained about his time limited schedule. The spot in question had a pod on it for over three months, about a year ago, which the very capable and competent driver had no trouble in placing. The only thing that this driver was exercising was his short leg. No woman was going to tell him what to do, regardless of the ownership or history of the property involved. And yes, the driver was told that there had been one there before. As had everyone I spoke with during the arrangement stage of this order. You record all of your calls. Go listen to them. Seems this company has been operating under fraudulent practices for quite some time and we were recent victims. In Nov we placed our stuff in storage. Told them we had no address, just that we were moving to TN. According everyone we spoke with throughout our move said it was no problem. We'll deliver it no matter where you end up. THAT IS A FLAT OUT LIE. Fast forward to April, we close on our house, call to schedule delivery, no. We're in a unserviceable area. What? So we go through their laughable customer sevice several times, one time we were on hold over an hour. In the end we were then told that Knoxville PODS refuses to make an exception, we'll have to pay movers or find some other way to get our items to our new home. Doesn't matter that they already had over $6500 of our money, or that my husband is a disabled vet. Next we fill out a BBB complaint and review. It gets acknowledged by PODS so we're thinking great! We'll get this worked out and get our stuff delivered. No. First we're told that our location is "dangerous." We live within the city limits of a small town in TN. Our house isn't up some unmarked road in the middle of nowhere. We're then told that it's outside of their one hour driving radius. Nevermind that friends of ours in another town are 64 miles away, we're 65 miles away and the travel time is actually the same. PODS then tries again to get the facility in Knoxville to deliver our items. They say that there's a chance they'll say no so we ask, "if you're corporate can't you make them do it?" They're response is "No." So even if corporate does get involved they really won't do anything to help you. Now we're at the point in the story where Knoxville PODS again says no, we contact a moving company, schedule a day and pay a deposit. The next day PODS contacts us twice and we're told that we can pay $1000 or $700 something in addition to delivery fees and THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL DELIVER! Sorry. That sounds like extortion or bribery. Save yourself the hassle and move with a more transparent and respectful company. Avoid PODS like the plague. read more

We hired PODS thinking we were hiring a "reputable" company and wouldn't have to go through the headache and struggle we have read about with other moving companies. We reserved two large PODS in December to store our belongings when we moved from Georgia to Tennessee. At the time we moved, we did not have a delivery address as we were planning to stay in a short term rental while we looked for our forever home. When making the reservation, the representative stated it would be stored in Knoxville until we had an address. It is now two months later, we are closing on our house in eight days and they WILL NOT deliver our PODS because we are more than 50 miles from the storage facility. They are telling us our only option is to rent a truck, drive 100 miles to Knoxville, unload our PODS into the truck and drive it to our new home...twice. We paid almost $7,000 to find out our PODS cannot be delivered to our home and they are offering us $500 as a consolation. This is not an issue of being unable to have it delivered due to inaccessibility (we moved to a major city off the interstate, no dirt roads, etc.), it is their flat out refusal to deliver our PODS outside of their 50 mile radius. We offered to pay extra to have it delivered, still no. This potential issue was not disclosed at the time of our reservation so we are really at a loss as far as what our next step is going to be. I decided to use PODS for my move from Iowa to Tennessee. Communication and commitment to honor their pricing has been a disaster. Leaving Iowa was all good and the crew took good care of me. On the TN side, I have had to make multiple phone calls to arrange for drop off and pick up times which have no been timely. I was told since I was military, my first month storage was waived, but yet on June 20th I was billed $216.32 for storage. I finally got my PODS dropped off on July 11th and called to have them pick up the empty. On July 20th the police called stating the PODS was still in the street and it needed to be moved or it would be towed. PODS then billed me another $216.32 for storage since they could not pick it up in a timely manner. Now I am out $432.64 - I have file three disputes over this matter and yet no action from PODS. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've experienced. NOT a reputable company. They are UNABLE to deliver on the service you purchase. We scheduled in JUNE of this year, months in advance. We called to confirm delivery for 9/11 on 9/10. Delivery for the following morning was confirmed by customer service rep. 2 hours after speaking to rep and confirming delivery for the following morning, we receive an email saying the order is cancelled. NO CONTACT with us. Cancelled due a billing error ON THEIR SIDE. Then they changed the price from $249/mo to $989/mo. After HOURS on hold and speaking to 'customer service' reps, they adjust back to the price we've had SINCE JUNE of this YEAR. HOWEVER, they can't deliver a POD for almost 2 weeks AFTER the confirmed time. With a 'sorry for the inconvenience'. UNREAL! BUYER BEWARE. USE ANY OTHER SERVICE. So it seems that PODS can deliver a POD with less than 24 hours notice, but can't pick up a POD within that period of time. Beware: if you have an empty POD may sure you schedule to have it picked up not more than 3 days after your "billing cycle". Longer than 3 days and only 50% of your monthly fee will be refunded. After 10 days, none of your balance is refunded. Funny how they make sure to have all of the days 1-3 completely booked up, have 1 opening on a Saturday, (within the 50% refund time period) and then no other dates open until after the 10 day time period. What a scam! They are Johnny on the spot when dropping off a POD, and Scamming Sam when you try to schedule a pickup of an empty POD. BEWARE!! read more

This is less about their service and more about the company. I was traveling through Knoxville and a truck carrying a PODS container was a few car lengths ahead of me and to the left. About 1/3 of the PODS sign on the back of the container broke off and hit my truck, causing minor damage. I sent PODS photos of the truck carrying a POD, with most of the sign missing, pieces of the sign I picked out of the body seems on my vehicle, and the damage the sign caused. All I asked was that PODS pick up the costs of buffing the scuffs off my paint. This cost is probably less than $150. PODS denied the claim because their contracted trucking service denied the event. Well there you go, their container, on the back of a contractor's truck, damaged my vehicle, and I must pay for the repair, even though I have photos of all of it. I direct a road race with more than 5,000 participants, and we have to move our race equipment all over the city several times in the month leading up to the race. PODS has always been quick to accomodate our needs and requests. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

When you speak to a customer service represtative at pods they will mislead you to believe that the 16 foot pod can hold 3 rooms. By three rooms they do not mean normal rooms in a 3 bedroom home. I informed the representative of how much stuff we had in our "3 bedroom home" and was led to believe that it would fit. When they say 3 rooms they mean minature rooms. They do not mean rooms with large objects like dining room tables or other things that might be in a home. Expect to be able to put the amount of stuff you would find in a childs room. I called the day before our service to make sure our stuff would fit because the measurements just didn't seem big enough. I called at 7pm the night before and they said that because I called after 4pm they were going to charge me a $200 handling fee even though they had not delievered or done anything. They charged the fee and were unwilling to refund my money! Aweful ethics and service. read more

This was probably one of the worst experiences that I ever experienced moving. I called and told them I have a three bedroom 2000 sq ft house and they recommended the 16' container and assured me my belongings would fit. After filling the container and short 4' to load my final belongings I called the 800 number and was told that they meant a 3 room house and not three bedroom. That Said they could deliver an additional pod in the tune of 20% off for an additional $1000. I am an event planner at Dogwood Arts, and PODS partnered with us this year and donated use of their containers for our Rhythm N' Blooms Music Festival. The PODS were perfect! They helped us logistically in a HUGE way, and I experienced excellent customer service throughout the process. Rented a pod in Florida and had it picked up and stored. Was assured that the pod would be delivered to my new home in Tennessee. Called to give them the address where pod needed to be delivered and was told that they could not deliver there. Had to rent a truck, hire a driver, pay all expenses to go from near Athens TN all the way to north side of Knoxville TN and empty the pod in the middle of their parking lot and pack the rental truck in less than 1 day, ( it was packed at my old home over the course of almost a month). Then will have to take it back to my home and get it out of the rental. I am a single lady and a senior citizen and the actions of this company were deplorable. The pod and storage fees were high enough, without adding the cost of rental, hired driver, and drafting of family members to get all the extra work done. I was assured of many things but got nothing but expense, inconvenience, and worry from from this company. I DO NOT recommend anyone using their businesses. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! My neighbor order a pod, when they can to pick it up the driver broke the hydraulic line spaying hydraulic fluid everywhere. When my husband ask how they would clean that up, first he said it was just water. When my husband said NO I seen you brake the line it is hydraulic fluid. The driver then said they would not do anything it is ok.. So my husband called the office. They said they would send someone to take care of it. They sent Phillip If that is his real name. He assured me he would be back to clean it up. He never showed. Now I will be calling fire marshal back on Monday to report them. Being in the home improvement field I used to refer them out when we needed a house cleared for remodeling. BUT NEVER AGAIN!! All they do is lie to you to get you out of their face. I think I might call NEWS 13 problem solvers to help in a public service announcement. Fire department said proper clean up is to dig up contaminated gravel place in a garbage can rinse well not allowing any dirty water to spill out then strain and replace cleaned gravel OR dig up ang replace contaminated gravel. They dug holes in yards to get dirt and throw over mess. NOT VERY HAPPY AT ALL!!!! Wish I could post pictures to show you the mess I am stuck with. read more
