Recently made a cross country move and rented an 8x7x6 foot POD unit to pack up my studio apartment. Our POD was delivered on schedule to the Middletown location (actually a day earlier than the estimate I was given). I called ahead a few days ago to ask if I could access the contents of my POD and was able to schedule it later in the week to go retrieve my items. At least for this location, the PODs can be accessed between 8am-3pm. When you arrive, you can call the number on the front door and someone will come help move your POD storage box outside with a lil truck--just make sure you bring your key! The manager (whose name I believe was Jim) was super helpful the day my dad and I tried to access my POD. We struggled to open up the pull gate (some furniture had moved in transit and jammed the door) and Jim helped us even push the box open and troubleshoot. Recently, Hubby and I decided to refresh our 1935 Dutch Colonial home by painting and refinishing the oak parquet and pine floors in our living and dining areas. How about a POD unit? We chose the portable on-demand storage unit when we received a better quote from Mr. Sandman, our floor refinishing company, for doing both rooms simultaneously. We needed a place to store furniture for about one month until both jobs were completed. Hubby ordered a POD delivery for about one month to get us through the painting and floor work. The POD stored large pieces of our furniture from the two rooms. The cool part of the POD storage is the delivery and pickup of the unit. POD utilizes a hydraulic lift system called POD Zilla to lower the unit and load it back onto the truck when your contract ends. PODS treats you well until they have your property and money. Two deliveries completely destroyed my yard, driveway, and lamppost. Driver #1 on 11/22/23 almost dropped the POD, then could not reload PODZILLA. Driver yelled at me (the customer), saying it was all my fault? She barely got it on the flatbed, then sped off with PODZILLA not attached. Driver #2 arrives on my property unannounced and, again, destroys my driveway, lawn, and lamppost. She then smiles with an attitude and then speeds off, barely hitting my fiancee. We have two PODs stuck at our home with a third due to be dropped off. Claim filed, but no one from PODS has bothered to reach out about the damages, the safety of the customers, or how to fix the drop/pick-up schedule. Relocating to a new state. We scheduled 2 PODS. PODs showed up on time and were picked up as scheduled. It was great to have the PODS to throw in last minute items after the movers had left. In PA, we were notified by the local manager of a delay on one of the PODS, so one came as scheduled. The 2nd one they manage to get it here as promised (before our movers arrived the next day). We were at this point surrounded by boxes and ready to get settled. We are blocking the road with these moving boxes, so we were excited to see one POD was moved the next day. We expected another driver would come out later. No one showed. We called customer service and after waiting on hold 15 minutes they told us there was no "ticket" and our POD was picked up; we assured them that 1 of the 2 PODS was still there. They even asked, "Can you see it from your window?" Um. "Yes!" It's an eyesore now! We gave them the # of the POD and they told us they would "check into it." We end up calling 2 more times the 1-800 #. After the same run around for 30 minutes "Jake" assured me we will hear back by the close of business Friday (7/4). I asked to speak to a supervisor 3 times and was not put in touch with anyone else. we have had no updates on pod pickup. Then we were able to get in touch with the local manager (the one that called to notify us of the initial delay) and he explained they are short on drivers, so they have had to prioritize moving clients. Overall, knowing that the customer service # is not local is a huge problem. I am confident now that this will be handled because we had that local person contact information, but most of the time you are talking to someone looking at a computer screen far far away telling you in their "system" everything is okay. read more

I have been going rounds with PODS about getting my unit to my new address for over 10 days. My request for moving was supposed to happen on the 4th of October from PA to the 10th of October in MD. They changed my request and are now telling me that the customer service rep who created that order gave me wrong information. Keep in mind I have already paid them to move my container 4 hours. Sunday I was told that the driver couldn't load my unit due to rainfall in PA, but my neighbor there just had an outside wedding that very day with no signs of rain in their photos. PODS is refusing to honor the contract given to me on the 30th of September when my unit should have been delivered on the 10th. I have asked for a refund to be told that isn't an option, that my POD is scheduled for moving. The time frame I have in writing isn't even the time frame announced to me on the phone. I have been hung up on by two representatives, I AM ONE PISSED OFF CUSTOMER. If I could have given this review without stars, I would have. UHAUL might cost more but I'm for Imprint certain they would have honored their contract. DO NOT USE PODS FOR ANYTHING, they will screw you someway. I'm a repeat screwed by PODS customer. read more

They were to show up to pick up the pod today for our move to Arizona. The Middletown pa location. They didn't show. Finally after calling three times they called they finally told us they had a driver call off and can't come for 11 days. Completely unacceptable response. We are closing on a house and moving across the country. Absolutely horrendous customer service. read more

PODS damaged my carport, failed to report it, then denied my claim. I would not do business with them on the basis of this experience.

I did visit this location as this is where my PODS ended up. The GPS let me down and no advertising or signage left me driving around the industrial complex for fifteen minutes or so. However, once I did find the place everything went smooth. I called a week in advance and let them know I needed to access my POD and they had it removed from the warehouse and it was on ground level waiting for me when I arrived. Check out the quick tips to find the correct address OR make the First left in AIP Drive. The PODS building will be on your right as you drive down but the driveway is all the way at the end of the parking lot. "The Good" - Smooth experience and good all around experience. I did not even have to speak with anyone when I was onsite, everything was where is was supposed to be and I opened my POD dug through to find what I needed and then left... easy as that. "The Meh" - Finding the place was a bit funky. "The Bad" - Nothing really bad to comment on. read more

PODS refuses to deliver to us and said we have to come to their storage facility, unpack our POD into a truck, and move it ourselves. We recently moved to PA from AZ. We did not have a permanent address in PA yet, so we picked an area close to where we anticipated buying a house. Our POD was sent to the closest PODS storage facility. We have now bought a house and I called to arrange delivery. I was told they do not service the area where we bought our house. WE WERE NEVER TOLD that the possibility existed that PODS would not deliver to where we moved. Had we been told that, we would have chosen a company that could meet our needs. Our new house is 21 miles from our estimated location we gave PODS when we arranged the move. They refuse to fulfill their end of the contract. We spent $5,000 to get our personal belongings 21 miles from our new home. They drove it 2,250 miles, but refuse to drive the other 21 miles. This is ridiculous! read more

I guess don't move in the winter.. Supposed to get the pod on 1/7/22. They called AFTER our delivery time saying it won't be delivered because of the snow (we got a couple inches). When is the soonest they could get it to us? 2 WEEKS!! There is no other day or time within 2 weeks to bring the pod 20 minutes away??? Had to buy all new stuff to get through the next few weeks living in an empty house. Do yourself a favor and just go with Uhaul. read more

Our PODS experience was awesome! We got our quote online and spoke to a representative each time we needed to move the POD. The pricing was certainly fair and having 30 days to load the POD, move it to our new home and then unload it made our move easier than I could have imagined. Moving can be so stressful. I ordered a PODS container when I decided to put my house on the market. I stored everything I was taking with me except for the things I was using to stage my home. It looked so nice my house sold in 9 days. I gradually packed up the rest of my house. My container was taken toy new home and I could take my time unloading it. Once it was unloaded the came and picked it up. I would recommend everyone use PODS. The convince was great, but having it made my move so much easier. read more
