UPDATE: I emailed the below social media account immediately and have yet to receive a reply. I've spoken with 4 customer service reps and two supervisors - they have accidentally disconnected me twice and the other times they just rush me off the phone with no resolution other than "we hope someone else cancels." This is the worst customer experience I've had across any industry in my 41 years. DO NOT USE PODS - they have delayed the delivery of the POD to my new home twice now - leaving my family, including young children, without beds to sleep in after we moved across the country. The delay is up to 8 days and counting!!! They are either unable or unwilling to address the issue, as I've spoken to their customer service department on several occasions (they act like it's no big deal). I've paid them over $6,000 and they've effectively ruined a cross country move for our family. If you are planning a move and want your stuff to be there anytime CLOSE to when you move in, this is not the company for you. read more

Not a reflection of the individual guys on the trucks, but rather specifically oriented towards the corporate customer service experience. Moving with PODs was really disappointing on the back end. Movers beware! Perhaps not a surprise, but disappointing nonetheless. Scheduled our drop off; had a glitch, got it sorted. Received the confirmation emails for the appointment we'd set, and the follow-up confirmation email for picking up the empty container. Day of the drop off arrived...no pods! And they charged me for an additional month of storage, because they still had my stuff! Called them and was told we hadn't scheduled anything. Then got hung up on! Called back, finally got some help. Was told they would assign us to a "specialist" and they would be in contact within 24 hours. Received no call but got an email informing me that the delivery would be in two days. I waited for an email with the delivery window to arrive...went to sleep before it came. The drop-off came as I was supposed to be heading to work (so now I'm late, too!) I called customer service to ask about the glitch and get a refund; they eventually connected me to a supervisor (looooong wait on hold) who tells me she can't do anything, it's all in the hands of the specialist. The specialist emails me to tell me that they in looking over the case they find that (surprise surprise) their company has done nothing wrong. I ask about the emails I received, and I am ignored. Look - moving is a hassle. Things break, it's expensive, and you will be exhausted before it's all done. You don't need a company that doesn't care about you, and you certainly don't need to pay them to do a job they fail to do and spend a bunch of time trying to get them to take responsibility. I'm not out to burn down someone just for making my life difficult; this is a really poor example of how to treat customers or communicate care when so much is involved (and I'm literally thousands of dollars into paying for my service). Do yourself a favor: look elsewhere, and if you do use them, be forewarned - they don't care about you. They're really not a customer-oriented company. ------------------------- Update: I posted my first review on google, and heard from the social media team. As I waited, for an update to the resolution, the "specialist" Jennifer responded again to ignore the central questions of my dispute (if you had no intent of serving me and honoring the original appointment, why did you ask me to confirm the drop off date on 7/17? and then ask me to confirm the pick up date on 7/18? And since I paid you TEN DAYS prior to the delivery date, why are you claiming you can cancel if you don't receive payment seven days before delivery? Silence to these obvious questions...) and so I have now shared the review on Yelp. If I hear from Jennifer again without a better answer, I will share to FB, and then on Twitter, and then anywhere else I can. Don't treat customers poorly and then expect them to silently wait for you to decide to change your behavior. This is the avenue open to me to make you listen. We used PODS for our cross country move and I could not be happier. I'm actually shocked to see how many negative reviews they have. All the prices & fees were as quoted, and we were even able to visit the PODS storage facility in St. Augustine to pick up a few items. We never tried to call the actual location, but we made our appointment through their website, which I found to be very convenient. And while we were in their office, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Honestly, they were by FAR friendlier than than the staff I spoke to back home. I think for us, the convenience of storing your POD at their facility while your home is being built, and being able to visit your POD if needed made the overall cross country move a little less stressful than it already is. You can also keep the POD at your home when packing & unpacking as long as you want, so there isn't as much pressure to get things done all in a day. Granted, you pay for the time you have the POD, so keep that in mind. But overall, I would absolutely use PODS if we ever move again. read more

I called PODS on January 2nd and received a quote for the entire process... $1,306.98 - including tax! (to move 180 miles) It was scheduled & PROMISED / GUARANTEED for certain days... (Drop off Empty on the 6th... Pick up Full on the 9th... Drop off full at the new house on the 19th... & Finally Pick-up Empty on the 21st...) We had our PODS container delivered to us (emptied) on January 6th, they did an excellent job! My husband & I packed it with only the items that were allowed to be in there. Keeping the lawnmower, gas can, etc for our Honda Odyssey. The PODS container was picked up on January 9th, they also did an excellent job! The first two dates were good... but then we received a call telling us that the promised date of delivery on the 19th would have to be rescheduled for the 21st! When I asked, Why? They had no answer, other than an issue at the St. Augustine facility... Was I happy? NO! Was there anything I could do? No! PODS already had 90% of all of our belongings!! And so, we had to survive another 2 days without... That meant wash those clothes again and again! Eat out, buy microwavable dinners, & be as cheap as possible! (which is hard when you want to eat Healthily) Oh, & let's not forget about sleeping! Yeah, we were able to squeeze our queen-size mattress in the Honda Odyssey, but not the box spring! So, we slept on the mattress on the floor for 2 more days - my back still hurts from that! How about having to rent a U-Haul to get the rest of the items that PODS would not allow us to load in... Not just the gas, mower, etc, but we were also restricted on the weight of the items! Driving one time down to our new house should have been enough, but no, we had to drive down with a loaded van, rent a U-Haul drive up, load it, drive back down... Oh wait, we had to drive up one more time with the Honda and drive back... (3 trips down in total!) that was a lot of miles driving, money for gas & a rental, and a LOT more Stress! And then the money charged... I was charged $77.81 MORE than I was quoted and PODS was 2 days Late!! Hello? On what planet is that OKAY? If I didn't pay, it would be understandable. But Money was charged to my American Express... ($1,384.79 total) On the 3rd: $467.59 - Before we received the Empty POD On the 8th: $700.29 - Before the FULL POD was picked up on the 12th: $139.10 - Before the FULL POD was Delivered & On the 14th: $77.81 - After I received the call stating that PODS had to reschedule my delivery! Now, mind you, The Actual HUMANS that I got to SEE, the ones who were delivering & picking up the PODS at our home - were AWESOME! I would give each one of them a 10! They did an awesome job! I used to be an Over-the-road Truck Driver, so I know the issues at hand... The only issues would be for the one who picked up our FULL POD. They did not put the Security Tag on the POD, but on the lock, that could have been picked open... Notice the picture of the Security Tag to the Left here, this should have HAD to be cut off by me with scissors! It's still intact! The so-called-humans I spoke to on the phone were AWFUL... No Professionalism at all. I say if you have a Job to do - Do it Right - ALL THE WAY! Don't do a half-assed job! I can't tell you the number of times I was given the run-around! I understand that with COVID-19 most everyone there is obviously working from home, but to have Dogs Barking, Babies Crying, & Kids arguing in the background when speaking to me on the phone? That is just WRONG!! Totally Unprofessional... So, PLEASE explain to me, 1) WHY would PODS Charge me MORE than Quoted? 2) WHY would PODS not deliver on the Guaranteed Date of delivery? 3) WHY would the PODS employees not be courteous when speaking to me on the phone? 4) Is any of this Professional? I think NOT!! -So, I wrote the above letter to a customer service person and explained that I would like the extra $77.81 - that I was charged - refunded to my card since that was not part of the quote. & that I would like another $200. Credit to make up for the stress of having to reschedule our days around; to rush to empty the PODS on the day we received it since on the 22nd we were packed with other things to do - etc... After going back and forth and not getting much of anywhere with anyone I spoke to, I finally was able to get the $77.81 refunded to me on February 3rd & the $200.00 refunded to me on March 2nd. Now, onto what we actually LIKED about having the PODS container... I asked them to face the PODS container door towards the house garage both times, so it made it easier to pack. My husband is a Tetris Champ, so he was able to pack quite a bit into the PODS container. Being able to have the PODS container for a couple of days to pack up was nice... Having it picked up and delivered to our new home was also very helpful. Although I wish it would've been dropped off earlier than later! Seeing the PODS-Zilla in Action was pretty cool... He was friendly and helpful, very concerned about where the pod was placed, and even made sure that the door could still open after the cross country trip, just in case everything shifted inside. They don't care about their customers. I had arranged a pick up so both PODS could be delivered to me on the same day. I called to check and it wasn't even on the books. Then they failed to pick up the second pod and it's out there annoying the neighbors and unattended for three days. I had to call again to arrange a pick up am I a babysitter? So, one pod was delivered a week later and I had to hire movers two times. That costs extra money as they charge for travel time each visit. I had to constantly check with customer service. They acted all concerned and then shut me down flat. I am out hundreds of dollars having to hire the movers twice because of their any efficient handling of scheduling. The only plus is the drivers are nice. They reach out and act all concerned, but then they don't care enough to take care of you. Be careful. The comment that they posted that they are looking into it IS NOT true. It's to make the consumer falsely believe that they really care. They responded to me via email and shut me down immediately. read more

The drivers are very nice but the staff and communication are extremely inefficient. I called to schedule a drop off date and it didn't get in the books therefore my stuff was dropped off a week apart. Thank goodness I called because it wasn't even scheduled.They didn't pick up one of the containers and it sat there for three days while I have left town and people were moving into my house. They said they would refund me $169 for the drop fee and did not. I filed a claim and was given no compensation. I had to hire movers two times because of their incompetence. Never use again. My husband and I are totally pissed. Can't talk with drivers, managers and customer service doesn't have a clue. Pod is just sitting even though it was scheduled for pick-up between 1-4:30pm and no-show. They don't give a damn about your belongings. Piss poor company!!!! read more

Trying to escalate an issue where they didn't deliver my POD. Long wait times on the phone. Text chat gives standard answers. Over 45 minutes with no ability to escalate and talk to a different person. Issue wasn't resolved and the error was on their end. 48 hours to review the issue internally - which is way too long when you need to move and get a real answer. Complete waste of money and time. Find a company that has team managers you can speak to instead of a bot. read more

Very happy with my decision to use PODS for my out of state move. They made the process virtually stressless. The schedule I created was met without issue. The drivers in both states were great and completely professional. PODS was also the least costly option for the move. I would highly recommend them. read more
